Classic or Era?
 

The ongoing debate held here :) let's settle it once and for all. State what Server you like better and two reasons why you like it and one reason why you dont like the other one. You never know, you might find out something about the other server that you missed before :) I'll go first

Era: I like era because the staff actualy react with players and do stuff in the era community. They have a visual pressence. Also, I enjoy era for the variaty. More ways to make money. More events. More updates(that aren't just hats added). Why I dislike Classic is baisicaly the opposite of why i like era :) I play both

For the iPhone worlds I'd say Classic. Era never appealed to me and its PvP system always seemed like a joke. In the old days players considered anything other than the "default" PK system to be for noobs.

Era used to be kind of fun though, it just depended on the community and gangs (Morano Family <3). Still enjoy running around iEra with staffboots though.

I like Era 'cause it has guns, and also because Jessie is the Graphics Admin.

I dislike Classic because it just has no appeal to me.

Era wins my vote every time xD better admins better jobs :)

Classic. Era may have the guns but Classic has horses that can breathe fire.

Classic, Era is wayyyyy too laggy, and more expensive to even play. You have to buy respawn potions to enjoy it, and ammo. Plus most of the people are random noobs, no offense.

yes and in classic all the random noobs are brodcasting themselves by burger refuge. Rate my guild picture! I need a GF/BF! Adopt me! lol

I've never been a fan of Era. I don't like the gameplay, though I can see its appeal. Classic swords and weapons are where it's at for me.

Very true. It depends on what style of gameplay you like. Rather swords than guns? Classic is for you. Rather have a modern server? Era is for you.

Classic, because Classic is classic and Era is like a new era. :) I prefer the fair fights on Classic rather than Era's "who has the better gun" fights. I won a spar on Era and i was really happy I had 1-0. I joined again, and some guy destroyed me with a machine gun. No match for my pistol that did almost no damage to him! All in all, its based around who has more money to buy better guns. Then again, maybe its just because Classic came first, so I feel more comfortable playing it. I feel more at home. Classic will always trump Era in my book!

I basicly agree with this statement. but you cant blame all of classics staff on not helping just because some staff dont. but I like classic better.due to my history with it since old pc days and because I love using swords,I like old fashioned graal,especially when spar came along on classic with no advantages,rather than with guns which takes skill but people have advantages,depending on the gun they use. I like classic better BUT era is always adding good things. Both servers are the only servers to survive on PC for years.

I just played era too but its so hmm bored :) but i like it classic is my fav one idk cause i play it since its out on ipod and i play graal pc since 6 years

Well more people like classic cuz they don't really give era a try.
I know most of u people from classic, started buying it when it came out.
Noone really liked it.
After you r on era n spend some time there is more fun for you. Well if you don't pk much u actually don't need to buy the unlimmited ammo :P
I like both servers but era is my favourite. Has more of a Humor :3

I disagree. I've seen people own at spar with the most unlikely guns. Dual pistols (cheap, easy to get), single uzi (totally unexpected, somehow worked), AK-47...and none of those are expensive or difficult to obtain.

I think iClassic players were too quick to hold iEra to their expectations from playing iClassic. They were disappointed that they had to buy revive potion, but I think it just makes the game more interesting. They were upset that they couldn't just jump into spar or pk with the starter weapons, but what other MMO makes you use the same weapons that you were given from the start? I enjoy working for upgrades and better weapons. Would it bother iClassic players if they implemented the sword power system from PC? More hearts/hitpoints, etc?

iClassic players spend *hours* horse farming for gralats to buy new hats...if they spent half that time digging shells or picking up trash in iEra they'd have plenty of money for new guns. (And get plenty of training pking :))

I haven't been able to play iClassic for more than 10 minutes since iEra was released. It just seems so boring now.

Since this thread is beginning to boil down to style/gameplay preference, I can put all of that aside and point this out: I have played both iPhone servers since their release, and Era completely blows Classic away in terms of content, updates, and addressing player requests and complaints.

I have fond memories of my time spent on the Classic iPhone server, but Era iPhone was *exactly* what I needed when things became stale/boring/dysfunctional on Classic iPhone.

I think in a way we're both right. People have their opinions. I prefer equal fights with the same weapon. I also don't farm, money just builds up after a while. I tried digging for shells on Era for half an hour and got nothing. Then a "taxi driver" crashed me into a wall and I died... Not my day of fun.

That may be true, but it inevitably gives an advantage to the better gun. Everything counts, including both weapon strength and skill level.

I just couldn't jump into a separate game with new rules to learn and adapt to. Its like when a family gets a new pet, the pet doesn't know anybody, where he/she is, where to go, what is OK and what is not OK, etc. Sure you learn, but some people would rather stick to the classics. By the way, I wouldn't be upset if sword strengths or more hitpoints were added, but maybe that's just because I'm already so familiar with the game.

Classic admins aren't the same as on Era, I do admit. I'm not saying its not something that can be improved on (*wink wink*).

Classic. on Era i find it somewhat hard to make money for potions, guns, etc considering you can get 1k from crabs in around an hour. But moving on from it's economy i think its a pretty good server, "Era PC" never got around to me as well. Also, all my levels were using pics1 to start with. Pics1 being the default tileset for the Level Editor/ Graal (when you start a server i think) proves to me that Classic is my home.

(And i like Classic iPhone's tileset <3)

Era has some great game-play I must admit. But the community kind of takes away from the whole modern vibe. It's like gang violence in the middle of kindergarten to be honest.

Era players are too quick to assume iClassic players haven't given Era a chance, and to generalize them as people who sit around all day.

Definatly era 10 reasons why 1.you have weapons and guns 2.theres no noobs spaming rate gp or stuff 3.cars 4.jobs 5.better players 6.better admins 7.not boring 8.better updates 9.better items 10.easy way to make money :)

10 reasons for iClassic:

1. You have more fun toys
2. You have something to laugh with the noobs while watching ugly Guild Pictures/Status
3. You can even ride a turkey/donkey
4. The weapons power is the same so fair for all
5. After dieing you don´t have to walk to the location again (if you didn´t buy that medic thing)
6. Bigger community
7. You can hang around nicer with friends (Better furniture to hang around, farm partys, ....)
8. No admins looking for attention because they are bored
9. Funny items
10. You can make great money by having farm partys -> community

Dude when you dont warp to the hospital you can buy a revive potion i have nothing againts classic. Its juat when i get on there is nothing to do while in era we can do events to win items or money,do jobs to earn money! Lol

Thats why I said when you don´t buy it. And honestly: if you just play era randomly than it´s no worth buying it.

Wait...are you saying more kids play Era iPhone? I've made more 18+ friends on Era iPhone than I did on Classic (and in less time.)

Around the time Era iPhone was released...I remember several things: I had become bored with Classic, I had gotten my hopes up for perhaps new weapons or quests and nothing ever happened. I remember a distinct lack of updates that interested me, and it seemed like most updates were hats or transforms. I remember players complaining about the near-impossibility of getting their account transferred after emailing everyone they could think of, feedbacking, asking admins, etc...some players had been waiting months.

Then I logged into Era. It was amazing. So much to do, great updates, new items, new weapons...And not only was there a Player Relations team that made themselves available to answer questions and address issues, the *manager* of the server made it openly known that you could email him directly for account transfers or other issues. I remember laughing because I saw someone complain that they'd been waiting several hours for their account transfer. Ha! Several hours!

I'm not saying that iClassic has any obligation to do things differently. It's just that...I want to play Graal, and after playing iClassic...iEra, for me, felt like "YES, now that's exactly what I wanted!" It *did* take some getting used to, but I was having fun the whole time.

I like classic but era gets alot more content released imo...
(i would stick to era but all my friends are on classic ><)

Definitely Era

Honestly, they both are just kinda cheap ports of the original servers. If you ever played graal classic on client, you'll see how amazing it is compared to what we have now. I used to play era pc, but I got bored and left. Era has more content but classic has a bigger community, I feel so lonely on era. I guess I stick with classic (btw Zodiac iPhone is gonna be beast and top them both http://tapatalk.com/mu/63e11d06-e472-6caa.jpg but the project is on hold :()

eraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa is better cuz when i look at news it isnt just "new hat added" you guys may not realise this but era hasn't even been out for a year and we are still expanding and growing. classic kind of died. the only updates are hats. era takes it beyond that simply cuz it's fresh. now i know being a noob in era is harder than being a noob in classic, but thats the beauty of it. you have something to work towards

I completely agree with Cat, I thought era was fun at first but it's wayyyyyyyyyy to laggy I hate it! Otherwise id probily play more

there have been many server updates sence the first week of its coming out. era is less laggy and the only time real lag is experianed is if you have more than 50 people in one area or another server update is in process. you can whine about classic being laggy too when youre in front of burger refuge :kitty

Please note that Classic has 3 times as many players, so it should be leading by three times :)
