How to set up a MC drug server?
 

Ok so I was looking over server lists on google and found some drug servers. They were pretty cool and I want to know how to make one.

I can set up the actual server, I just want to know how to make a thing were:

"right click this sign to sell x64 sugar"

Would I have to script stuff like this?

also:

"You do not have permission to go in here"

also:

"you need to be 150 blocks away from the city gates to build"

also:

How do I make an auction house?

(I am using the Intoxicated server and DrugCraft server for examples, i just want to play with friends only for now, not those guys who kill you for no reason)

@HappyCat123 You should try it, its the Intoxicated Gaming server, it's kind of awkward selling your wheat and sulfur for cash but it's actally one of the better servers on the game.

Yes, you farm in a place where the "cops" can't catch you, raid your farm, take your stuff, and jail you. Once you have a couple stacks of sugar, you sell it in the sewer drug store.

But anyways, I want to make something like this, and I've already began the map plans, so now all I need to do is make the server, and learn how to do all the stuff I asked.

Google 'bukkit'. It lets you load plugins into your average minecraft server. It's completely free.

Ok rep added! but I have some questions. Am I going to have to lern to script and such? Because I have no idea how to do that.

I want to do the exact things I've listed above. Do you have any idea how I could start?

EDIT: ok well I found the plugin list and am starting to see the things i want. Have you ever used Bukkit and could point me in the right direction of starting to install my plugins?

It's easy. First, you download the files and read the set up guide. Start the file you made and it will generate a world. Then, you can go to http://plugins.bukkit.org and download whatever you want. Download a .jar and put it in /plugins/. That's all!

1. Build a welcome area for new and returning players

2. Build the market

3. Build the bank

4. Build the sewer system

5. Make the economy function in some building (i.e. a drug trade place hidden somewhere in the world)

6. Make the streets

7. make additional buildings for players to rent out for selling and storage

8. Hire cops based off of applications

9. hire administrators

(10.) I will be gathering players who want to help build soon, so I wont be the only one building

I have another question: Can you use bukkit in a singleplayer world?

For instance:

The Aramis mod made by Lolo500 is a adventure with TONS of features and quests, like oblivion or skyrim.

It is singleplayer though, so did he use bukkit for singleplayer?

Drug servers are pretty fun, I rigged mine up with tnt so when the cops raided it triggered the tnt and blew them up, I took my sugarcane and left. I'd play if you got one up

Cool bro! I'm pretty sure ill get one up, i have around 35 different plugins I'm getting ready to upload soon.

It's going to be Very similar to the other servers out there, just a little more private and user oriented.

I'm going to have more people I know on the server than random people who join and screw around the whole time. School friends, graal friends, xbox friends, facebook friends will have immediate access for instance.

I do have a dedicated PC but it wont support many people probably, so unless I pay for the server and get donations, it wont have many spots.

24/7 play may or may not be supported.

The reason I'm making it is so those derps who kill people with no items on them for no reason don't join because that annoys the heck out of me.

Also, should I whitelist players or not?

i perfer a prostitute server. you pay diamonds and female players skype with you naked.


or serial killer servers. those tend not to be fun as chat is global and it shows who slays who so its not really a mystery who the killer is.

still, wouldnt be as popular as redlightdistrictcraft. thats possibly the fastest way to legitamently get over 1000 diamonds.

I'd like to build, but I'm on the trip to North Carolina. I'm on my smart phone. I'll be back in a week.

I can build if I can get my custom client for building to stop crashing.

This topic makes me wanna texture my sugar to be weed, but why would you use weed to make cake/books/anything else that requires sugar cane?

To support a lot of players, you need processing memory. What are the specs of your computer? What type of processor? How much RAM? The better processor and RAM, the more players you'll be able to support.

if you have the memory needed, you can change the amount of spots on the server by going into SERVER.properties and changing the number of players from 20 to whatever you want.
