Replacing 72 hour jail for an 800 hour ban

Is it possible to replace a 72 hour jail for an 800 hour ban?

If so, can i request for my 72 hour jail to change to an 800 hour ban?

Ace 05-19-2012 12:22 AM

why?

MSM 05-19-2012 12:34 AM

why?

Jail time only goes down when we go on, so i would rather have a ban.

XENA* 05-19-2012 01:14 AM

Just leave your ipod on everynight

It fries it

Higbey 05-19-2012 01:46 AM

72 hour jails should never be given. Thats just abusive since it forces the player to do something that can overheat and damage the iPod and iPod battery

Ace 05-19-2012 01:50 AM

Must report to apple

MattKan 05-19-2012 02:13 AM

For once I kinda agree with Higbey. I'll see what I can do (no promises).

Higbey 05-19-2012 02:29 AM

i believe the max was supposed to be 6 hours,

MSM 05-19-2012 02:30 AM

Yea lol

MrSimons 05-19-2012 04:13 AM

There shouldn't even be a jail, just bans.

XENA* 05-19-2012 04:18 AM

Yeah jail should be only for small time (2h max) after should be ban.

T-10a 05-19-2012 06:42 AM

True, yet an adiam (forgot his/her name :p) threw me in jail for 3. Still bear the marks of the elusive jailhammer....
*shows big mark on back with the words JAIL on it*

Apple wouldn't delete it for that. They would contact Stefan and Unixmad. And believe me, Stefan would have the jail removed from use.

MSM 05-19-2012 01:34 PM

Maybe they jailed u for that long because they arent really allowed to find someones IP address without permission.

They can ban without looking at an IP.

/openaccess acc-name

psewolf 05-19-2012 03:01 PM

Apple is looking into this.

MSM 05-19-2012 03:20 PM

Shawn, it says your IP when you are banned. Plus to make you an admin they need your IP

Ace 05-19-2012 04:04 PM

We use a complete custom ban system.

You've completely ignored the problem and how it's your duty as a staff member to look into this and have this fixed, or are you really going to try to argue that staff should be allowed to issue punishment that harms our devices if we wish to get through it?

I think Matt's got it covered.

I "ignored" the problem since I have not been the one giving out the jail and neither it is my job as developer to take a look at that. He can contact the PRAs at any time or ask other PRs for more help. Also MattKan already stated that he will see what he can get changed.

Actually players did not play by the rule. If they would do that, they wouldn't even get punished.

Ok then good to know.
