State Tests

Every state at the end of the school year is supposed to take a special test that gets sent to the state. In ******ia, they are called SOL tests (******ia Standards of Learning). Today, I took my reading SOL. It was boring. Are you taking one or have you taken one already?

Edit: My 1,500th post!

DragonRider 05-10-2012 04:36 AM

I took my STAR test. Boring. And challenging. But still finished before everyone!

MrSimons 05-10-2012 04:43 AM

AIMS, Arizona's Instrument to Measuring Standards

Maryland had the High School Assessment tests(HSA's). You had Reading and Math, and had to pass both in order to graduate. You start taking them in middle school and retake them every year until you pass them. I don't think I had any problem passing them back in middle school, which gave me a few days off every year afterwards :)

Tyler 05-10-2012 05:06 AM

Is it those tests where they test you on certain subjects like Science, Math, Reading, and Social Studies? I only have to take those every certain amount of years.

iHawk 05-10-2012 06:50 AM

Took them a few months ago. Nevada Proficiency Exams. Easy as ****. I got "exceeds standards" in everything, and 500/500 in reading >.< There was also math and science.

Cat612 05-10-2012 07:30 AM

California has STAR tests. Very fun.

I don't know why but I barley passed those haha. They were so easy though. Only scored an 1900 or something on all of them. I think it's like 1600 to pass...

By the way HSAs also including biology and social studies which you take in like 10th or 9th grade.

On a sidenote: Number 1 school in Maryland according to US News and World Report!

HappyCat123 05-10-2012 11:56 AM

PSSAs. Pennsylvania State Standardized Assesment. Fun fun.

When I went to school we had HSE when you get to year 12 and then NAPLEN every 2 years, why is America so strict about education,

Are they new? I definitely know Reading and Math were the only ones needed to graduate(they put the pass/fail of those two tests on each report card).

Took the MSP on the computer. Easy since they included a table to show how to find volume and other stuff.

Wolfy 05-11-2012 01:37 AM

We do MAP testing.. I have no idea what it stands for though.

Didn't test booklets have a glossary for stuff like that(volume and other things) in the back?

The STAR test this year for high school apparently has very funny stories.

The Doctor 05-11-2012 02:08 AM

I had a stupid story about--oh wait. Not allowed to discuss the test.

Peter5498 05-11-2012 02:11 AM

ISTEP for Indiana, I think it means what it says...I step on a level or something?

Your school runs into June 0.0

In New Zealand, we have the 'National Certificates of Educational Achievements' (NCEA), and it's the same all over the country during high school in the years 10-13 (I think). I've never done them, as I've only just started High School and am in Australia now anyway (:(). But my sister did them for two years, and she just LOVED them. A lot of people in her year had panic attacks at school during the exam period.

Not sure what they have here, in Queensland though.

[I know you're talking about the United States, but this is still semi-on-topic.]

Dylan 05-12-2012 08:37 AM

We have "naplan" tests every two years.

Yea we started like September 9 or something and we're ending June 8th. But we also had a lot of days off throughout the year :)

spades of feare 05-13-2012 03:51 PM

In georgia Hs there called EOCTs (End Of Course Tests) they are the easiest thing ever concived. Yes somehow , we have a 60% passing rate.

The other bs thing. It is LITERALLY, impossible , to score above a 95.

In New York we take the ELA tests (English Language Arts) and EMA tests (Elementary Math Assessment). And no, I'm not in Elementary School. Elementary doesn't have to always do with Elementary School :P It can also just mean Learning (as in Learning Math Assessment)
