You can disable it by tapping player > edit > more options > less effects.

That was how (in old days) era PC announce but now you could probably hire about 2-3 low on GFX to make a journal once a week about the weather and new stuff coming!
E.g:
Noah has been fired for reasons (blah blah)

Then another paragraph : Happy 5th of May!(Cinco de Mayo) we will celebrate by opening Tink's and PiX's house for the end of the week!

Did you hear of the news window? Also lots of stuff isnt worth it to announce like things with Noah.

It's just a little something extra to add, don't bash it. I personally think it's a good idea, even if only a few people use it. It's like the furniture in the bases, it's nice to have, and comes in handy once in a while when dodging bullets.

News windows doesn't reveal everything in game and can't reveal each weeks weather, and you know, even sometimes, life is a game...

Because not everything is important. Some stuff is "hidden" extra due to some facts or to have players explore it on their own.

I like this update. It adds more "life" to the server. Thank you scripters (PiX I believe) for making this possible. I look forward to seeing the different weathers!

Since the game is hosted worldwide, I imagine it will "snow in the summer" because it is the exact opposite in the southern hemisphere.

Any suggestions for improvement are welcome. I have read in feedback that perhaps the lightning flashes too brightly, and hurts the eyes, or that the fading effect when leaving a building to the outside is not nice. Other than that I have heard mostly good things.

Since era is a big city and all, with cars rushing around and people letting loose with loads of bullets, it's amazing how we are still able to maintain a clean atmosphere. How bout smog where you cannot see a thing, or maybe as time goes on weather gets worse and worse. Global warming anyone? :3

I like it. Except when it rains i can't see very well the bullets...

It looks good. However, I did notice a small rain glitch. The lightning doesn't flash and 1/4 of the right side of my screen has no rain. Maybe it was a lag glitch.

Ive only seen rain and what looks like nighttime. (if that's supposed to be overcast, make some dark cloud shadows.) I'd like to see, if it isn't available, a windy weather. Maybe make leaves blow in the wind?

Then, in winter the "breeze" could be rapid moving snow, which would be the violent version of a gentle snow fall.

Lightning does not flash when it rains, it flashes when it storms.

I believe I fixed the bug with larger screens last night. Did that rain glitch happen recently? What type device are you using?

Yes, the darkness is night time, however there is sometimes weather with cloud shadows.

Wind is constantly changing, and it can get very windy when it storms. It doesn't always though. Maybe I can do something with leaves blowing from trees.

I haven't seen the glitch since so it must have been the bug you fixed. I use an iPad original.

I've found that many games use blues and purples for nighttime. A recent classic thread discussed this. Anyway, I thought instead of making blue or purple versions of GFX, why not use a transparent "film" that lays ontop of the game screen? Like when you edit your background color in your status. The last two numbers change it's transparency? I could see that working very well.

Era is using a combination of a few different color filters for the day/night darkness effects, rather than just outright dimming the screen.

Interesting. Ok. :) Yeah, dimming the screen is a bad idea, just because it looks weird. What color filters? I don't know much about it.

Can you make it so that wind affects movement? Like if the wind blows one way, you move a little slower while going the other way

I don't like it that you have to press less effects for the weather to stop. Can you make a separate "Weather" checkbox? I prefer to keep everything else on that less effects disables.

this you might not be able to but, you should make it when it rains and you go in to a building on the Gmap it has a rain hitting the roof noise....

You should make it where we can buy a weather machine like the tiles.

Get rid of the fade in effect, everything else is nice. Deep fog where you can only see for x tiles would be interesting, maybe random blizzards/floods which change tiles over to snow/water would be neat

It no longer flashes to black every time you enter the overworld. It just fades.

Yes I also noticed that the weather controller seemed to be stopped. I don't know how long that has been that way. Has anyone noticed iEra having a drought this summer?

So? It can rain in the summer, it rained where I lived, and I'm sure it rained a lot of other places!
