You do not need gold, but you will not be able to upload.
Most likely if your account is not Classic you will have
observer mode as well until we go Classic (I believe).

It's a great video, but all of them images show very dark tiles and they all look a bit bland and dull.

The intent of the video was actually to inspire, and interest people to want to create levels, not show off Shaded Legends, sorry if you thought they were all of Shaded Legends.

That would be simple!
The most creative of the bunch are picked, and they will be taught throughout the Contest. Eventually the best will be picked who learn the fastest and have the best personality for the job. I've taught people in the past, and they have become rather good.. Winston was a pretty good LAT, and Yoshii on Facebook was getting there...

Of course they want to learn to apply elsewhere which I don't mind. The ones who lose can stay to learn as well. The application for the contest was made to be easy. ^.^;;

It still seems to be a too small server for me to start work on. I still don't really like it. But I love the video and I hope you hire some good LAT's.

Not a problem, Shaded Legends use to be classic around 2005, however due to the depreciation of GS1 after GS2 hit, Shaded Legends started to 'die'.

A lot of old staff from SL are currently working on it to bring it back to Classic state. Thank you for that, I hope we do too. :D


As for everyone else, I've only shown two pictures of Shaded Legends, here is a small sample of the intro that is to come. Still working on it currently.


I just need to fix the trees in the level, and create the level below it. Then finish off the scenes, then this half of the intro will be finished. I will then work on the old half.

We are interested also in those who can make quests, however it would be best not to apply via the contest.

True.. we are some pretty old kids.. ;D

But in all honesty, I'd like to think of it as we can, rather than we cannot. :]

That is me putting pixels everywhere on the original grass so they look alright. ;D

I'm not sure the spray would look so good, but it is worth a try next time and could probably go much faster... thanks.. xD

My way was more slower, making sure the main parts looked well on the actual grass, and the corners fitting together.. creating inside corners and straights... D: Eventually I decided I would need a light set and a darker set..

Overall I think it turned out well. :]
They would be a little darker like the set of grass but I was told it looked more like mud. He would like this lighter still..

Well, all the levels are ready, anyone can watch the contest.
Only those with the rights can edit or their own levels.

You cannot select from other players levels but you can see theirs.
I just need to work on getting some kind of staff boots to use,
and have it not trigger the hacking system for those without a
tag. (Boots may not happen)

Also, I'd like to quickly fix the cliffs.
Other than that, all should be ready.

We also have a new NAT and GAT, both are pretty
good, so I'm excited to share that with you all. ^.^;

Piggy the new GAT created a few animals as well
as some other things in sprite form. They are fine
for now, but will be hopefully fixed later.

Thyme Cypher fixed up the inventory system in ten
minutes, so it can close smoothly allowing you to walk
afterwards, as well as being able to use the arrow keys.

He also fixed the following in the petsystem that I could
not do. I will still have to recreate a movement system
that uses onblock.

Shaded Legend is coming along great from the looks of things. Good luck to everyone that applies and I just hope that the server becomes popular and catches on :). One slight issue, while talking to a player on iClassic they told me that they had applied but they hadn't received any response and the next thing they knew their level had been uploaded to your server. I denied the story as it is very skeptical however I became intrigued when he showed my the email..

His player name on iClassic is : Ben Burrito (Zodiac Clan)

This may just have been one of his lies but I was just interested :))!!

I believe I know who you are talking about... I know iBlack kept posting about his levels being stolen and no reply, however I was even talking to him on the server letting him know that his levels were not up to par and he could apply for the "So you think you can LAT?" contest.

But if you would like to judge the situation your self.

Shaded Legends may not have any LATs currently, but I can assure you, we do have many capable people to do our own work.


I can only hope that Shaded Legends is good enough to be picked out of the bunch, and as it is true that many players have submitted levels, I cannot say any were of quality to be hired straight up. Which is perfectly fine, that is what the contest is for. :]

Currently everyone is only testing the OLE for a few days. Next will be a tutorial and an assignment.

However I will post pictures on here as well as the Shaded Legends website.
I'm surprised some of them are turning out slightly well, better than I would have expected, but still not up to Shaded Legends levels.

I believe I can create levels well, and uniquely, however I do not like the classic Graal perspective and only like walls showing on the north side of
buildings for the inside, and south side of buildings on the outside.

Old level that was going to have tables for a shop that I created. (Which is why the level looks unnecessarily huge)

However, it depends what tiles I am given to use, and if I can edit pieces.
I.E.: If I can make something like the table or wall pieces have inside corners.

I won't say that I am perfect, and I definitely am horrible with the cliff tiles and will be editing those to be easier to use. (I couldn't even put them together properly in Photoshop...

I deleted a few pieces afterwards because I didn't believe I needed them.

If this is a joke and play on words to try and make fun of me, no I don't think I can "Lat Admin Team" well, since I do not know where you are going with this.. o.O;;


Honestly, I like Delterias cliff tiles, since those are only showing the perspective I like. Does anyone have contact with Mystical Dragon or someone else of Delteria that I may talk to?

Atrocious. Your levels are atrocious.

Shaded Legends was once a decent server. (There are servers I hated more... elven lands... so decent) But now you're just stomping on the remains of a downed plane.

Please, let me know how my old level on Dev Twaina was atrocious. :]
I do not like how you make impertinent comments without anything backing them up. You should possibly try working on that, or if you have no reasoning behind your statements at all, why mention them?

I don't know what Dev Twaina is nor do I care. What I do know is that you way too much confidence in your level making ability. How about you prove to me that you actually know how to make a decent level?

I also find it absolutely hilarious that your bitching specifically about the reasoning behind my opinions. Let's see... I look at your levels and think "these looks awful." There is the reasoning.

I can look at an apple and think I should go to sleep. However, I don't see how either of those two correlate. Did you see my reasoning?

If you did, you must be pretty intelligent.

I will probably be 'bitching' a lot ever time I see you put someone down more often since you do it often. You do not give any constructive criticism and seem to be pretty pessimistic about everyone and everything others do.

The LAT Contest is almost done the testing point. If some rooms are not used by the 8th, this Sunday, we will be accepting a few latecomers. :]

Well, the second one is okay.

That level is a terrible mess. There are crazy, random tiles everywhere. It's simply impossible to follow!

Most of the levels he's shown in this thread are just as messy. Not even Zodiac would hire these people.

I think you are missing the point of this contest...

Do you expect all players, who have no experience with making levels, to have the ability to be hired on servers such as Zodiac? Right after testing the online levels editor even?

The point is to hold a contest, and teach them what to do and to do it well. :]
Then see who does the best... Winners have the chance to be hired.
