New Server! (Read)
 

I'm planning on creating a new server sometime within the week. I'm looking forward to hiring some-what experienced level designers. Im not a big fan of scripting, which is why I'm definitely looking for someone who is experienced with scripting that could help me run the server. The server will be based upon free-work, and just having fun. Eventually we will open the server to the public. Very appreciated if some of the staff have Skype, as we could easily communicate while making levels, etc. I'm looking into hiring people that don't work for 5 different servers, and are looking forward to being dedicated to my server mostly. I, will try my best to maintain this server to the best of its abilities. If you would like to be hired, please post a reply here listing some of your work maybe? But iClassic is currently struggling with getting more experienced scripters, I'm not sure how many you will be able to find for your server, but good luck. Obviously finding GPs will be a piece of cake.

You should post it here. Else good luck with your server.

We won't be looking forward to hiring any GPs before the server is at least 50% done. For the starting point, we are just going to put our some work and see what we can do.

Cookie you need a gold account. I believe. Do you have one? Also if you want good staff you cant swear at them then bribe them with itunes :3

The iTunes is used to reward members for hard work, otherwise they feel like there is no need for helping at a tower. I do have some very loyal members and come Ncs that wouldn't think of even collecting any iTunes. Also, Its really not a problem for me because half of the people leave after a week, and most don't survive all 2 weeks, so I only give out maybe 5-15 every 2 weeks?

Wrong forum. But even then I love how players just decide one day that they're going to make a server.

Do you have a plan for the server? A group of people you know who can help? Can you script? Do you have other people who can script? Scripters are a necessity for a successful server. Are you prepared to put in the time and effort in order to make your server successful? Do you have others who are also willing?

You'd better organize yourself before you waste your money on a server. Make a plan for it, organize people who can help you, get some scripters. Rome wasn't built in a day. And a lot of players expect to hop on a server and for it to be the best in graal within 3 months.

The use of real world money (itunes) to trade for services/items/ect in game is illegal in any online game ive ever played. And its unsportsmanlike (if tower takin' is a sport) to pay your members, not many guild leaders (if any) can afford itunes. Therfore you have a unfair "advantage" which should be looked upon by a high staff member.

Let me check the graalonline policy, pretty sure selling iTunes cards for service is against the rules.

Graal just doesn't have the huge playerbase to fill up your server nor any real scripters or coders that will take the time to develop an entire server for you.

iPhone based servers are the future of Graal, as much as old players want to cling onto the pc origins, and new people who want to make their own servers.

If I was you I would just save my money.

Hmm i'll be honest running a server is NOT EASY.

I mean i been here before era was even out on graal pc so that's like since 03/04 and honestly after era no other server hit the classic tab for others to play. Not saying you should not try but i think it's a waste of time until you get a dedicated team.

If you can get me the terms of service page where it says real world trading is illegal i can get it to stop. Justice for the poor!

I've seen iPhones try a million times. The server usually has about 30 GPs/noob LATs, a few GFX, then maybe 1 nooby scripter. This guys got no scripters. It's gonna fail.

I've been playing Graal quite some time, and not very many servers get to hosted tab.

save your money unless you think you have what it takes to make a successful server. make an interesting plan which will grabs people attention, get some scripters if you can, then spend your money.

And cookie your gonna need a little more experience than a little LAT work to make a server. A wise man once said "you better check yourself before you wreck yourself". I now pass that advice to you cookie. Your not well known in the graal community, you don't have much experience with the game, you have no plan, you have no scripters...

No. They have plenty of money. They just don't want to spend it on creating a new game with the same name when they already have this one.

I know you're probably hearing the glorious tale that your server will be hosted tomorrow but that's false. You're server may get hosted after several months of efficient and amazing work, which is out of the picture for someone just starting Graal.
