Admins

I'v taken a notice on something about admin(s). Some answer questions, others ignore completely. Admins are supposed to help? I even see some admins with "pm me your questions" or something like that and yet you ask something serious and they dont answer. It makes me mad.

PerfectDark 09-05-2011 10:43 PM

Well think about this, Iphone Staff Members are often flooded with tons of pms with questions...

Blink182 09-05-2011 11:13 PM

Not all. I see them moving around chatting right after i pm. Admins that arnt on admin accs that is. Kilik for example

0PiX0 09-05-2011 11:20 PM

If some staff members don't want to answer serious questions, you could try emailing [email protected] about it.
I'd like it if a support ticket system was scripted into the game though. That could be beneficial for everyone. Staff would receive less pm's regarding support issues. Players would be able track the status of all their tickets.

Jagger 09-05-2011 11:25 PM

it just depends on what you asked them.

Blink182 09-05-2011 11:27 PM

No it dosnt. I asked the same thing to zovers as i did to kilik and zovers answerd and kilik didnt. It was serious. I asked about transfering. Zovers is knewer than kilik also.

Jagger 09-05-2011 11:31 PM

honestly kilik is a douche to me.. idk this just doesnt seem like a big deal. but yeah if someone says they will answer pms, then pm them. if it doesnt say it on their player acc, dont pm that acc cuz they dont wana be bothered off-duty

Swift 09-06-2011 12:01 AM

I'll make a wee little list of admins who will answer you for iClassic.

Popular staff seem to get a message every 2 seconds which can make it rather difficult to weed through the spam. Especially if you get queries like i do,

"Twinny." <- in case I forgot my name?
"OMG HELP" <- Auto-assume it's about someone 'stealing gralats' -_-
"Hi can you help me?"
"Umm I have issues?"
"Hi can i ask a question?" <- don't they realise this is a question?

For the few who do ask a query, 9/10 it's a non-question or something thats answered in 5 other places. I don't even receive all that messages so it must be hard for the popular ones.

It's best to use [email protected] so we can track your issue and it won't be affected by idling out / going offline. Any queries regarding transfers should go straight to [email protected]

Dusty 09-06-2011 05:28 AM

Don't forget the most important question of all:
http://dustyshouri.dreamhosters.com/...noobsig_25.png

DarkKnight 09-06-2011 05:31 AM

Or people advertising they're offmap lol

RenoDorvay 09-06-2011 07:31 AM

As far as other admins on iEra go I know some don't really respond to questions, but keep in my mind they might be dealing with issues that are reported through the feedback/report system, they might be hosting events or auctioning, being a PR/Admin is more than just answering PM's when you get them. I myself, try to answer every PM I get as I get them, but sometimes you will be very hard-pressed to contain the flood of messages, especially if you've made an announcement or are in a public place.
Mind you, I ignore the questions if they're like 'can I have a water-pistol?' or 'can you make me admin?'.

Daphne 09-06-2011 07:43 AM

Generally from my personal experience all admins answer to my pms except one i have in mind now. New gps are enthusiastic and try to help as much as they can. Arch and sensei are a very good example of this. Moreover many admins are asked the same question again and again and that must be tiring. The best thing to do is be friendly and ask the question to the right person (example:dont ask coco to tranfer cause she just cant , or xor to hire cause he cant hire ask matt instead )

Blink182 09-06-2011 08:40 AM

Ha i started something big :p! I dont like kilik personally. His status says or said. "pm your questions" i pm a serious question and he dosnt answer back

I even ask matt for application for gp? Guess what? He never responds. I asked by email. I feel disliked by admins yet i give reasonable ideas for graal and i take down hacker and glitchers. Ppl ask if i made graalians and if i am admin i denie both cuz neitheris true and i stick to the rules.

Daphne 09-06-2011 10:35 AM

Ok kilik might not answer most time but if yu ask him when he is not busy i think he will do the best to answer your question. About matt , just imagine how many people try to make it. He sure is busy .... I know its not up to me but i suggest the admins have two or maybe three admins do matt's job so they arent so busy:(

On a busy day, sometimes we can get overwhelmed by reports players send in and end up receiving reports faster than we can deal with them.

From the PMs we get, a lot are simple greeting messages or other short/random statements (a lot of people send obvious things like "you are admin" etc.). Although we appreciate the greetings, it's probably best if people sent them to our non-staff accounts, if we have one.

Filtering past those, many questions are not genuine queries, like when people ask for red bombs, hugs, drags, hats, etc. (someone once even asked me to help them boost), which will be ignored.

Then, we get the genuine queries as described by the OP. As you can see, these messages take up only a fraction of the total PMs we receive, so it is very easy for us to accidentally skip it and dismiss it while sifting through countless other messages.

As Twinny said, it's best to send questions to [email protected], because it's not affected by busy staff dealing with reports, many staff can read and work on it as opposed to sending the question for a single staff member to answer, and best of all, you can write a lot more information in an email than in a PM due to Graal's message character limits.

On that note, there should be a letter system (with mailboxes) so it would be a PM, but longer, scrolling.

Skyld 09-06-2011 05:35 PM

For what it's worth, I won't normally reply to any PM that doesn't have a direct and useful question. People who just PM me saying "Skyld" or "hi" or "can I ask a question" will probably get no response. The other thing is that if I am being flooded by PMs and trying to do something else or talk to someone in-game, I'll likely stop reading them also.

The correct channel for support is [email protected], and if the query is worthwhile, then it will get a response. If it's a pointless question or not worth reading, then it'll probably get ignored also.

iPhone staff get constantly spammed, and so does the support email. The less people bother staff with useless problems, then the more likely it is that serious questions will be addressed.

Blink182 09-06-2011 07:50 PM

To be honest i think i give good feedback for graal ideas. For example guild
Emblems or dragons with fire breathe like horses or havig and npc that talks that u can buy for house.

PulsE 09-06-2011 08:51 PM

Npcs freak me out lol they are like manneqiuins standing there.... :0

Shaun 09-06-2011 11:16 PM

Brb, gonna go spam Skyld with useless questions. Jk, but really Blink? A dragon? -.- unless you mean a new image for a horse, thats one dumb idea. But I love the idea for NPCs in your house and guild emblems, but guild emblems are pretty much the GPs. Explain please?

Furryamigo 09-07-2011 12:45 AM

I usually ignore any PMs saying "Hi" or "What's up". Just start the PM off with the question, I don't need the small talk at the beginning.

Most of the questions I get are usually "Can I be an admin?" "Can I have a hat?" or "where did you get your hat?".

I also skip most PMs if I'm getting flooded.

Thank you for that but as i saw previously of what jagger said it really does depend on what you ask. I would usually avoid the spam of the popular phrase "Please add me" or "Can you drag me". What i would answer is questions like VIP problems or suggestions. So just shoot me a message on my ipod (Never have friends pm only on) or admin account (When i have Friends pm only off)

Azrael 09-07-2011 02:17 AM

I generally don't reply to messages unless there's an actual reason. If you PM me saying "Hi", "I'm bored", "AZRAEL XD!!!!", "cn u join my guild?", "can i be admin?", etc., I will not respond. I know a lot of you think I do absolutely nothing, but when I'm online I'm generally developing. As everyone else said, if you really need something, please contact us at [email protected] instead.

developing? then why haven't you released any new levels in like 9 months? Don't try to claim the new features as "yours", because last time I checked you can't even script a door.

Evrything needs time...

Skill 09-07-2011 02:31 AM

Back in the early days towns were released every two weeks or so, and I have to say those were the best days on Graal I have ever had.(I'm sure the majority of old players will agree with me on that.)
The towns were not based on spammed hat shops or the same items with changed graphics. In fact we did not get the usual "the tv and awesome hat have been added to the graal hat shop".
The updates were meant for exploring.
then towers and guilds came out in february 2010, then the game rocketed. It was one of the greatest updates Graal has ever had, and it had me hooked. I would stay up late every night past like 2am just to hold towers.(sad I know)
A quest came out in April, it was awesome.
after June 2010 or so when Snowtown was released, thats when the game started to go downhill. The game become a giant hat shop and updates never had new things, just new looks.
Deadwood came out, it was a giant shop as well.
ctf came out, but it died quickly due to the greed of admins making us pay to play it.
then just graphics after that.

Blink182 09-07-2011 03:57 AM

Ok maybe not dragons >.>! Guild emblems meaning, having something on the side of your name with an emblem. For example poke-badge. You may see like a symbol, like a clear star with two swords entersecting, or a shield with two swords behind. You get the idea right?

Can we see some of this development? There hasn't been a new area or major lasting update in, what, 9 months?

Liking it, much better.

And Az, personally, it'd be awesome if you didn't release any new areas for a while and then make a major update ^~^. I'd be exploring for days. But releasing everyso often is cool too.

Mr.Graal 09-07-2011 05:20 AM

Hey guys its blink182. I am on my way to becoming/trying to be a you know what. Vyse has gave me some spirit to try. Im not gonna sit here and talk about it! I actually just sent an idea a few mins saying we should have a soccer tournament just like gst. Except different months. Dont worry if anything ill come to you guys for your opinions on my ideas for graal.

Haha. You're a funny one. I'd love to expand in this post about how negatively I think about you, but I'm not looking to turn this into a flame war.

Instead, I'll just warn you and if you continue your little bashing escapades, I'll have you banned from these forums. :D
