World Cup 2018 Event
 

A new event and two new items have been added to celebrate the World Cup.
The new event is soccer, and the first team to score three goals wins. For your first win, you will receive the normal three tickets and this golden hat:

Getting the 'Players have been chosen and you aren't one of them' message repeatedly for the last 2 days. Frustrating... I've gotten into one match out of like... 20 times I tried?

I got it first try and won LOL

Each of the three times I have managed to get into this event... I have had players on my team disconnect or 'get kicked out for removing their tag' or 'get removed because they paused'.... Every time I've been on the right hand side of the field... and every time we've lost due to insurmountable odds. This last time it was 5 vs 2... after we had even scored a couple goals. This mini game is broken.

Should be some type of automated punishments for people who AFK throughout team-based events, it's usually a sure loss and if it isn't it feels just as bad because you just won some scumbag free tickets

There was one match where the opposing team’s members scored on their own goal haha

I feel like the amount of ppl that afk should result in the same amount of ppl kicked from the other team and the team full of afkers. Example: 3 ppl afk in Team Red --> Kick 3 ppl from both Team red and Team blue.

I don’t really see this as a big deal, but maybe just give the team with at least 2 members gone 2 tickets if they lose, or another win on their stats for having to deal with that

I guess if someone has idled repeatedly, they could place em in a low priority queue, but still seems kinda harsh, since the event doesn’t take 20 - 60 mins

Auto-goaling on purpose, after the other team scores one point, that’s something else

or like... make it replace them with other folks from the queue who actually were present and wanted to play?

Just make it so that if a player was AFK for 30 seconds–1 minute in a team-based event, it doesn't include them in the next 1–3 events that they would have been selected in but sends them an appropriate message instead of saying they weren't selected (for example, "You were selected for the event, but not summoned due to being AFK in a previous event")

they can just idle for an hour, and skip their punishment either way with this...
imagine if they weren’t gonna get picked either way

LPQ would lessen the amount of event messages sent to them, and in order to get out of LPQ they have to complete 3 events without idling

How are you idling while accepting the event? I don't even get what you mean otherwise, you mean accepting the events and then idling? Okay, well they've still been punished by the inconvenience of not being able to participate in the events

how would that even work? the server registers a player as accepted, but then has to look for more people, because some weren't actually accepted?
3 times where you would have been accepted + however many times you don't get accepted, seems harsh to me, but whatever. In the end it's up to the devs

Punishment is there to punish you. I think 1 round-out is fine.
This involves gralats, so I agree w/ enforcing new AFK rules.
And while at it, include all the Disconnected players too.

I just wanna say I really like this kind of events. I hope they bring back the CTF too.

Obviously its harsh but one round out is reasonable for going afk. Maybe one warning if it catches you afk before giving the punishment

blue team/left side wins legitimately everytime, have yet to see red team win in all my entries. Got a few goals into the left side goal and they bounced out. events also a laggy mess, for me a lot of times people in somewhat far distance disappear off my screen and there is usually a guy spawned in with weapons who just attacks everyone

Another idea just for the ones who stick to the event while others disconnect / afk get an extra ticket? 1 per game not one per person that would be too OP. So if you won either way, you would get 4 tickets.. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Not sure why people think one side is handicapped or something, I haven't noticed a trend like that. It's probably just a coincidence if one side never seems to win.

The trick that land me 5 out of 5 wins on my alt with gralats. All I had to do was be on a PC and do usual sparring move, J+L, J+L (moving sideways) and make sure my last hit lands on the direction that the ball wants to go. This trick works, because it cancels the kick animations and also blocks, meaning if they counter kick, you could literally stop it before you. I hope you get the picture. Also do not ever chase the ball, especially when it's at a corner. Just stay diagonal to the ball and make sure to hit UP and turn that into a goal.
