Recycling content

I get the feeling that theres not going to be anything "new" (as in terms of new things to do, not new hats and items), thanksgiving will just be a bunch of hats, and christmas will just have the presents again.

Does it mean anything? Does it have to do with Graal 2017? idk :/

Be your own leader. Create something. Be your own guide. Create your own fun. There are plenty of tools/features in the game for it. Dont really need admins to make “new” things for you.

The game isn't as much of a game as it is a community. That said, I think it's lame when prices that were paid for old items are negated and old items are re-released. At least make the old items sell for the traditional half-cost that was paid for them.

I actually would like to see more long term content rather than just event content

Like what though?
There's nothing to really add since the core gameplay isn't going to be changed

Oh, I was talking about Holidays, easter, halloween, christmas, etc. are all the same, in that theres always a easter egg hunt, the old deadwood for halloween, and the gifts for xmas

I just wanted new things for holidays, like a quest that isnt recycled (halloween) or the same gimmick every year (xmas). Maybe its too much to ask for, because they have to make it really good bc its classic

Thats the entire point. Holiday events were specifically designed to replicated every year with minor variations. Theres no point in wasting a month of development time for an event that will only last for a week; it would be better to dedicate that time to creating permanent content. (However, we havent seen much new permanent content either recently). Also, making a different event every year, three times a year, requires a lot of creativity; and knowing Graal, lists of ideas tend to become exhausted quickly. Then 90% of those ideas, most people wont like. Therefore its a better idea, and is much more efficient to standardize holiday events that most people generally agree are fun. So sorry you think its "old" and "recycled"

Translation: The admins dont have anything for you/lac the ability to create anything so you find your own adventure

Ethacon 11-06-2017 04:35 AM

The main permanent content dump for the year was in the early part of it lol.

Invent own Festivals, ezpz

Day of the Cats! or something

4-Lom 11-06-2017 01:32 PM

Yeah. Never seen why graal has 'real world' holidays and not made up ones (Notice NO ONE celebrated the return of the king from exile).

Yeah but dungeons can't happen because the server can not handle it and there's no point in going into some cave if there's nothing to do there
Also, NGS doesn't provide anything new really, it's still going to be the same stale gameplay

I don't really think graal has that many options when it comes to new content nowadays other than putting old content in a new jacket

MisterFace 11-07-2017 03:52 AM

i mean... We got some content this year that was pretty good soooo...

I get that understanding. Graal has been seriously crappy in the last 2-4 years in terms of unique, new content. For instance, remember that hat from last Christmas that was blue and had red eyes? Was a helmet. Cmon I bet this image will make you remember. Because it is from the game it was from. From a game Final Ninja, nice little indie game. And they basically copied the head into graal. There is a lot of heads heavily based on something, or completely made into graal.

So you can't expect graal to make all completely new content, they recycle content, copy content, ect. So yes everything will pretty much be the same.

what is final ninja

Arsenal 11-07-2017 10:15 PM

It's a game.

Ethacon 11-08-2017 12:20 AM

Kind of gets to the point where you run out of new unique ideas for new themes and items.

Gather round youngins... I'm going to tell you a story about the old days when Graal was simply a clone of The Legend of Zelda... and we LIKED it.

graal in general started out as a small piece of **** and more **** keeps getting added onto it and to this day graal in general is just a huge pile of ****.

Lmao true, the old times. It's ironic though isn't it? They stole a hat from Final ninja, the Halloween event is based on a tv show ( Can't remember the exact name of the show at the top of my head but the statues was based on something when I googled it) , graal itself is based on Zelda,

But the most ironic part, that is you have a head based on Tokyo Ghoul, it will be removed because copyright. The irony

Never watched that tv show that too many people are obsessed with but it's called "Dr. Who".

I know the flash, DC character ( Or marvel?). Never heard of Last man on earth, but judging by the name I assume it has to do with some zombies or something

No, it's a funny show where a virus wiped out almost the whole earth and there was only the "Last Man on Earth" but it didn't take long for more people to be found.

Even the deaths in the show are considered funny jokes (which they are)

one thing doesn't mean content isn't heavily recycled.

And just because I think that, doesn't mean I think that the fact that mod circus was finally released isn't way cool and awesome. (and relieving too lol).

Referencing an idea from another media is not copying it. Lots of games have references to other games, movies, and tv shows. Click on the links below for lists of references in video games. Notice how nobody claims the developers copied the original creators.

Undertale was based on Earthbound
Paladins was based on Overwatch
Angry Birds was based on a flash game called Crush the Castle
Farmville was based on a game called Farm Town
Pong was based on Table Tennis
Ms. Pac Man was based on Pac Man
Guitar Hero was based on a konami arcade game called Guitar Freaks

what’s your point?

Usually, the hats that reference other media only look slightly like the media they are referencing. They are vague enough to pass copyright laws. Only fans would be able to tell what is it from. However, a head with exact characteristics with a character on Tokyo Ghoul will be rejected, because it’s obvious who it is supposed to be.

So you're telling me, This hat they made that looks almost exactly like the one before would pass? If you look at the final ninja game, and people who have the Christmas hat. It looks exactly the same. Markings and all. It's fine to make things based on stuff, but not completely based on things. Where it looks exactly the same and anyone who knows of it could easily tell what it is, especially when it has exact characteristics from the character itself. Like the Final Ninja hat. I'm aware that games do reference other things. But not completely copy the entire thing like copy and paste styling
