Teasing in Graal Classic
 

Well i think its best to be said at this time regarding the golden gate:
According to only what i saw from past-present...

First, you leaked some kind of marriage chapel. When players spotted it, Azrael removed it

Second, there was a trailer for a lava based quest that never made it to the game. This has been majorly discussed within the last year after the trailer came out.

Last, you place the golden gate. 3-5 hours later, it gets removed.

Especially when im hearing that the golden gate and marriage chapel are from the PC version of the game, i really find it cruel and disgusting how admins tease players around by placing random buildings from the PC version of the game in random locations... And when a player spots it, the building gets removed because it was meant to be some kind of "surprise" for the players.

Please don't find me attacking you admins directly regarding this but on a community game with hundreds of players hyped for these kind of updates, i ask if you could stop joking around and teasing with their hype for these updates.. It really could piss off players in different ways.

More likely it was unintentional rather than 'teasing'. I know the church 'leak' was accidental because I was on at the time :p

Church Leak was my fault at dropping that level on our main server instead of our Dev server. Was not suppose to happen.

The golden gate has really, really bad graphics.

That Lava Quest; God only knows what happened there. Unsure where the dynamic duo went - or what they got done - for that quest.

As far as I heard/saw things happen:

Marriage - Was supposed to get out on valentines day. Makes sense or?

Golden gate - The graphic is more a shame than something to talk about. There is never an update where players would stop rumoring about different things. It doens´t matter if there is a gate or a cat on a tree.

Quest - It´s been developed by staff members of the EUROCENTER company. As far as I know iStaff have not been implemented.

It was my idea to add the Golden Gate and it was removed because it "had no purpose" and "didn't match anything we had planned" and a bunch of other excuses. The thing is, the Golden Gate has been around on Classic since I can remember, and it hasn't had a purpose for years. All it has done is foreshadow the basic premise of "Graal" and fp4 and I believed it would be nice for the players to have that. Judging from the reaction on Facebook and on here it had served its purpose well, but now it is gone.

The removal had nothing to do with the graphic, as look at the other graphics on the server. The removal had nothing to do with its purpose, as look at 90% of the houses on the server. It was simply removed without reason, yet we've just had four additional houses released by the same person that removed the Golden Gate, and these houses serve no purpose at all. Typical Graal, eh?

Atleast 2 of which aren't even really "Classic" at all (unless we count random uploads by joke LATs in 2007 as Classic).

Who cares about quests when the main focus of the server should be guilds or social activities? iClassic is a multiplayer dress-up doll game with killing.

Perhaps Azrael has never played Classic PC before. Else he's just being stubborn.

Lol yeah he Definitly hasn't played classic pc before. That's why there's a nightclub named after him on classic PC. And he has a personal bench in the angle clan church. Something tells me he was a pretty big part of the community in the day.

I don´t think so. Also Thor added a lot of new stuff since iClassic is out which is leading to the fact that he hates iClassic. Also they are/were in kind of a fight with each other

he changed his name to copy that night club, his real Graal nickname was Zeltino. He just changed his name when iClassic came out.

Don't compare this "Azrael" to the real Azrael.

mattkan is right, the azrael you hear about on classic and in those levels was the real Azrael, god of death. he was a real oldie, dont know what happened to him.

I think the golden gate was a punishment used to torture all the naughty players with ugly graphics.

I've never taken claim to those places, sorry. I changed my nickname to Azrael as an online alias well before i was requested to work at iClassic. I'm not attempting to deceive anyone. However, if you are too stupid and believe such things, it's not my fault. I can't help those with lackluster brains.

Also, we (at least I) am in no sort of competition with Thor. I don't see the servers being on a level playing field in the slightest conditions. Nor do I hate/dislike Thor.

The Golden Gate is absolutely fugly and will be replaced with a much less appalling graphic and will be replaced on the overworld at that time. Relax, youngin's.

Well, if the Golden Gate is "too ugly", why not use the newer gate thats been in place since ~07ish, it looks pretty good.

:(. How was I the only one who wasn't told he was a fake azrael? I thought for sure he was after talking to the guy in the VIP club on classic who said said he was azrael, designed the club, and then talked about how much better it is than his more recent levels. But my bad I guess :(. Never really saw any evidence of him being a fake, and I don't understand why he's running around with the name after tw real one quit.

So yeah I wanted to see that marriage chapel thing.I saw the golden gate reminded of me of the old days on classic PC lol.

It's pretty bugged up right now, but I suppose if others want it I can get it up and out?

It really shouldn't take long to make marriages... it's pretty basic scripting. You're pretty much just setting strings.

And tying knots. Zing.

If your idea of a marriage system is one chat command sure. There's much more work than you seem to think especially if you want the system to be great instead of mediocre or worse.

1. Creating a GUIs to initiate and manage your marriage.
2. Scripting a ceremony, and creating the graphics and effects that go with it.
3. Creating items, updating scripts to take advantage of the marriage as well.
4. Scripting divorce functionality into it as well.
5. Thorough testing to make sure it all works.

Setting clientr.partner=account isn't the hard part it's creating the content around the system that takes the time and is the difference between being a good update and a mediocre one.

So I'm guessing this means polygamy will be too hard to add. Can't even add a mistresses subcatagory?

I say that graal is a kind of game that could have a storyline what makes the game fun is exploring npc's houses and reading those book shelves to learn about graal history!

This is a really negative thread :(. My name is Terver and it rhymes with server, I am sorry for not having an original name:(.

Show me it when it's done. I have to make it in minecraft for the movie, it has to be based on whatever golden gate the graalians see.

Also I think it would be cool if it was like a more realistic more appealing version of Stefan's original gate, maybe get Twinny or Fp4 to add a nice portal effect to it instead of a black square with green splotches.

But Stefan's gate isn't so much a gate as it is a tent... recolored to be gold...

Since when is there an 'Angle Clan Church'?? Last i checked it was called Angel clan...
