Graal Classic something big is about to happen in 2017???
 

Remember when 2017 started in graal they updated the news with a picture saying there working on something huge and trust me it wasn't the castle update, because they updated the news in all mobile graal servers classic,era,zone and ol'west so i wonder what it is my guess is that it's a new graal server for mobile maybe delteria? anyways they promised it in 2017 what do you guys think it is?

This picture was set to every servers news, it's regarding Graal 3D. From what I saw about it, it doesn't really look good, hope they made some major progress on it. They use (used ?) Torque3D to make it if I'm not mistaken, that's an old 3D software.
My personal opinion in it is that Graal should stay in 2D, its universe doesn't benefit the 3D aspects.

You can't really compare an all time game that everyone at least played once in their life and Graal. Graal is just Graal, and to me with all these rising 3D MMOs, Graal doesn't stand a chance, not to mention barely any server improvement is made. If you look at iEra, when I was a staff we asked thousands of times to get a server upgrade because the server was constantly at 90% CPU Usage, with at least a server restart (self restart) a day, because the server needed to cool down. Not to mention it took Toonslab about 3 years to get them to get our dev server working again.

So yeah, to me Graal should stay in 2D, I don't even think the current servers can hold 3D.

if graal 3d is similar to the picture that was thrown around 2-3 years ago, it should stay 2d. if it improved a lot, then idk. might make a difference.

i think they should release it now and get people to play it on a other server i think it will either be a hit or miss but while its released they develop it better over time.

Anyone find the thread etc of this on graalians and the official graal site, I do remember it but can’t seem to find - looked awhile ago but seems to have vanished?

I've known about his channel for a few months now but if that's how graal 3D is gonna look like i dont mind at all takes long time to make 3D games unless you use a 3D engine which im not sure if there using one or making there own?

there are some issues with the way current graal works I think they would need to make a whole new client.

Them old old versions...I can still imagine the glitchfest on any graal3D -they should release just for the fun of all the glitches

That graal3d was a very old project that I think was trying to be a 3d version of graal kingdoms but the project probably just died or something.

Graal and promises don't usually work well together

Well, I also noticed that if there's ever a question relating to such subject matter within the forums of Graal Online Classic, I never expect an answer. I suppose I can be happy that my own expectations in that there nought to be anything to expect, are fulfilled. That is one that I can be happy about. :D

what would be the benefit out of Graal in 3D? 3D games look horrible unless executed correctly, which I doubt Graal did. Not to mention almost all of Graal's development comes from volunteering community members, who don't specialize in 3D graphic art or even level designs. For Graal 3D to actually be successful, it would need a paid staff team or an entirely new community who have prior practice and talent in the 3D game design. it just wouldn't work like I'm sure they'd want it to

Well, Stephane had a live dev stream earlier today (along with a few other devs). They were showing off some concept stuff. I'm not sure about their model tbh, looks weird

best to stay in 2D with pixel art, not like there's much competition for that particular style anymore.

It looks like a first attempt at character modeling by some one who is learning to use a graphics program. HOWEVER... the mask suggests that the 'noob' character there looks simple like that on purpose, and that other styles/looks obtainable would be much higher quality than mr fung si yan.

Surmise this was on his facebook?To be honest I didn’t really expect Graal3D to look that great so these gimmicky characters would work well imo the mask looks pretty dam good for a graal game.. Although makes me think they are nowhere near done with Graal3D, the 2017! expected date probably off, unless they shown parts of the map/gameplay in stream? but doubt it
