Lol, im also starting a game, do you even have a player movement set up? My game is about to be released called "technicity" in about 1-4 weeks. I mean, i could help, but im super busy with stuff atm.
-- Also this isnt really a place to leark and get staff. Most people here know graal script not unity c# |
I have player movement set up learned how to code it with a few videos on youtube but my layers are messed up in my game like i have so many it's hard to fix now lol Also can't wait for your game I just really need help with mine like a have a problem when the character goes into a box collider the screen just freezes the game kind of

If you're actually serious about this then how are you gonna maintain the game once you're out of tutorial videos lol
|
if you dont know how to script well and youre relying on free graphics, how is the game gonna function
|
I said I don’t know much that doesn’t mean I don’t know at all I can script same basic things like player movement and more stuff.

Hey guys im gonna start up a game but I have no clue how to make one. I cant program, and I cant make graphics for it. Can everyone else do the work for me while I sit back and claim it all as my own?
|
Why do people need to judge others? If he wants to fail (not this case, talking about the worst case) why shouldn't you let him be or talk with him in a nicer way? And advertising [your own] a game on a topic about someone else trying to seek for help with his game which will be a hit if he's talented and lucky??
GG community. Alas, if upper management would ban those negative members instead of people leaving the game.. sorry; didn't mean to derail but those negative people are somewhat of a growing bunch of pricks since Colin left. |
Hes gotta start learning to script somehow, I guess. And if he doesn't have to worry about making graphics at the same time, good for him.
|
I started learning how to code by attempting to make my own video game. There's no reason why this guy can't either. Stop giving him a hard time.

From personal experience, I HIGHLY recommend starting simpler, like with a puzzle-platformer. If you're a beginner working on an rpg-a much longer game in comparison-then the roadblocks that you face are going to hit much harder and your morale is going to drop. There is a youtube channel called Extra Credits which makes great videos about video game development.
Also, if you ever do pick the project back up or decide to make another rpg, ask yourself how invested in it you really are. If it's a side thing you do for fun, I don't think it'd be fair calling to others to join in. If you're really serious about it, rather than being Game Director and getting backlash like some of the comments in this thread, try putting together a team of equally motivated people. This way, it seems more like it's the group's game rather than your game. |
Lol no im not picking this up im way too busy

If you really want to make a game, and you're willing to learn to code, giving up is the last thing you want to do. I can't tell you how many projects and games I made, or attempted to make, that failed or never got released. But each time I made a new project, I learned more and more. |
Yea i got back on it :D
