Era Politics Today
 

As everyone knows, the politics of era are obviously staff members (only PR, PRA) and there is a lot to cover. As we know, Former PRA, and current PR, Tink, as come back! (Yay!) For those who new to era or don't know Tink, Tink was one of the original players of Era.
Aside from that, we had 8 new PR since January. Plus, PR member Bboy, have become the new Guns Admin
But the problem we had just recently are resignations and firings. Cloyd gave up his position as Gun Admin, which explains Bboy Position. Plus staff members that have been fired: Mariah Nicole (Reason: Jailing players because of admin harassing <-Counts as admin abuse for some reason) and Gilgamesh and Novaa (Reason: Giving items without permission). On the notice, Herb aka Kane have not resigned, he only said he be away for a while.

Graal in general has weird ways to monitor a game to begin with. Most games hire people who are paid and willing to actually help and improve the game community instead of fooling around with the community. Then again it's probably due to budget issues Stephan isn't able to hire as many people as he would like. But at least they have strict rules for staff members to maintain their status.

OT: This thread will probably end up as a flaming thread, don't know why you had to start more drama.

I didn't start more drama, I just telling the current news of today. Plus I am aware that there won't be any staff hirings yet

It's a shame I was let go, after a year of dedicated service, with no warning, no discussion, and no explanation whatsoever. It took a week for someone to actually respond back to me.

So the shame, Jatz, is that I believed you all to be among true friends. Instead, I was treated as disposable.

Novaa decided to do something a little creative before bidding adieu, something fun for the players. Because she knew that eventually, despite time passed and friendships forged-- her fate would inevitably be the same as mine. Just another speck upon the digital pile, tossed away like litter; a fate awaited by each and every Admin that has been, and will be "hired."

It was an honor to serve the players, a thing treated as joke within the band of golden names.

Ehh, I sort of felt the same way when I was fired. Everything I done/had planned for the server. No warning or nothing, just removal. Still questioning it. I was fired for "dropping" items. What I don't understand is the guns that I dropped that are shown in logs are from events. The players can even vouch for me. Now, what really baffles my mind is that I'd get permission from snk before hosting a lot of these events.. but, I was fired for not providing evidence that the guns were from events? Snk, you are my evidence. And, if you're going to go by the freebies I gave to players, we get that **** every 10 minutes on the server.

Oh well, no use crying over spilled milk.

You can always come on over to classic, we need scripters that care about the players.

Poetic, inspiring, well thought. N stuff. There's a difference between taking a firing in a mature fashion and pulling what I like to call to call a "Doc". You, my dear, pulled a much less dramatic "Doc". Hell, I had to find out about mine via facebook. FACEBOOK. Did I cry and go on a rampage? Did I pull a "Doc"(YES I AM USING DOC AS AN EXAMPLE.) No. I know why I was fired and I took the past months to mature and understand why. It feels unfair and unjust that you were fired without a notice especially after all the service you provided to us, the Graalians of iEra, but the truth is Graalian Life goes on. Staff of the past are the past. At least you have the comfort of knowing that if at least one player remains on the server who remembers your time of 'adminship' you won't be forgotten. *eats a cracker silently*

I for one don't understand how they can fire truly amazing staff like Cloyd, Novaa, and Gilgamesh (and even kevin =p) and then have the audacity to hire power-abusing children to replace them. Talk about a server that's headed in the wrong direction.

Politics: The economy is crashing as more and more scammers start scamming the people and the people get more and more loans from the bank and players kill them so they can't pay the loans.

How do you lose money for making a trade system? plus...why did i get a -rep?

He will get less money because less people will buy gralat packs.

All we want are item trades. No undroppable items can be traded-just egg hackys, stuff like that. He won't lose money for items people can't buy anymore of in game.

I kinda agree with both Gilgamesh and Castor. I mean they could have at least warn her before firing her but at the same when you are fired you just have to move on (this is a game not as important as if you were fired from your job). Example: When castor was fired the next day he was on with his ipod account playing as a regular player without complaining.
I find that rude that admins don't have a 2nd chance :/ everybody makes mistakes :/ in era one little bad thing and you're fired ;(

And I seriously don't see why snk doesn't do anything. Everyone is seeing that this server is going to wrong way. What was my first post on the hirings page? "don't hire people you're going to fire in a week again ;)" and sure enough....

Era will end up one of two ways if this keeps up.

1) we will have staff hirings every other week and the server will eventually fail because of misguided guidance

Or

2) staff will end up like classics where the staff has absolutely no freedom to interact with players at all.

I'm seriously saddened era is turning out this way. I remember the first months of era, everything was new. Was fun. Staff was constant. A year later and it seems we've taken a step back. Not one forward :/

Guess what? Snake Rekon just quit, another very good developer gone.... The reason was

"Some things have changed in era and I don't think I like the path its taken..."
