Replace Whistle GST item with Sword Dance
 

I know this may sound like a "Waaa I didn't get the item I wanted" post, but it's not. I just wanted to explain why I think it should be changed and what to.

So as many of you probably know (especially if you are on Graalians.) iClassic is based off of a Playerworlds server called Graal The Adventure (it comes up if you type in "classic" in the server search.), and in this server they have an event store where you can spend currency that you earn from winning their events. Well some of these shop items are what they used for the mystery boxes at the GST all of them except 1 and yep, you guessed it, it's the whistle. What I would like to suggest is that the whistle be replaced with another item, I myself am not to fond of it, it doesn't offer any idle animation I can just sit around and show off, and it doesn't loop, also I would like to add that in Graal The Adventure it was one of the standard emotes that everyone had, all you do to use it was press w. So what do we change it to you may ask? Well, I'd like to suggest it be changed to another of the event items from GTA called sword dance.

not only is this item an event item like the other GST mystery box items, but it's also just such a good item and screams "spar" much better than a whistle.

So what I would like to suggest if possible (which I like to think it is because I've seen it happen with hats before.) is to replace all of the current whistles that people have with this, and replace the whistle in the GST mystery boxes with this, and then either sell the whistle item as it's own item to everyone or make it a typed command like :whistle or something.

Also another idea to further encourage this is that in graal the adventure you could fall off of your mount if someone hits you with a boomerang. A way you could incorporate that into iClassic I was thinking would be to have it so that when you get hit while your horse has eaten 0 bushes you will fall off and your horse will stand there and you could use the whistle to call it over to you if lets say you get knocked off by someone, and you and the guy who knocked you off start going at it you could just call your mount over with the whistle and hop back on it.

Just a thought.

TL;DR Replace everyones whistle with the sword dance from graal the adventure because it's more fitting and the whistle could be used for cooler features if it were accessible to everyone.

Well it's just like I was saying, the whistle has more potential to be used as an item everyone could use rather than just limited to people who win a round in gst. and if you just made the whistle a public shop item without replacing it with something special for the people who already won it from gst they would probably feel ripped off and get upset over their special item being not special anymore. Which is why I suggest we replace existing whistles with the Sword Dance.

Agreed whistle is useless I almost never use it

Whistle should be a free command and those who currently have the whistle item should receive sword dance instead.

Hug is 8000 gralats, whistle is limited edition... We should be thankful that dancing is free.

Also what potential does whistle have next to animations like RPS or high five?

If you would have read the whole post you would have seen my example of how it could be used as something more than just another emote. :/ Also I never said anything about the hug or dances, and If people got the whistle replaced with sword dance before they make it a public item you would still have a limited edition item. I'm saying whistle wasn't limited in OG Classic (Graal the adventure) so why should it be in iClassic when it could be used for other things?

Jeeze, forgot everyone was so serious around here. The first part was a little joke, I know you said nothing about hugs or dances. I don't really care what is "limited edition" or not; I don't even play the game anymore. I personally gave up a special item for the community to use it for a greater (more relevant) purpose, so I understand what you're trying to dig at.

But I did ask a question that I must have skimmed over in the original post like you said. (You did include a TLDR, by the way!) I started reading the paragraph about horses and boomerangs and had assumed, after the first couple lines, that it was irrelevant and just some other topic entirely. The whole post was a bit wordy, I apologize for confusion.

The whistling to call your horse would be kinda cool. I never played Classic before the 09 wipe so I can't comment on its implementation, but it sounds kinda alright. Don't know if its worth reverting something already put out to a large amount of people, but sure. I'd be down for more little cool things like that.

Nah, this actually is a thinly veiled "Waaa I didn't get the item I wanted" thread. They aren't going to exchange people's items just because you aren't happy with a whistle. There isn't some secret untapped potential in the way they could make use of it. They can use a countless amount of alternatives if they have need of that type of thing. Is the whistle defective somehow? Does it not work how it's supposed to? If no, then they have absolutely no need to just go and take people's whistle away. If this is just about adding the sword dance, and the whistle item was just a scapegoat, I believe they've said they wouldn't add any new gst ganis. Besides, whether they're open to it or not, you could've just suggested they add the sword dance. You didn't though, because this was just about you automatically getting the sword dance, without caring if other people actually like their whistle or not.

Also as I said before in Graal The Adventure whistle was just a default thing you could do, it wasn't some item you had to buy, idk if it had a use in PC Classic or not but it could be used for something on iClassic. So yes this item is not working as intended, because the item was not anything special in OG PC Classic (Graal the adventure) like the other items were. Also if I were just suggesting that they add sword dance to the game I would have just said "Hey guys, you should sell the Sword Dance from Graal The Adventure on iClassic!"

I've read the post multiple times. The only reasoning you're giving is that in Graal the Adventure it was a default command. Well, guess what? This isn't Graal the Adventure anymore. It may not have been "anything special" before, but now it's a gst item. That's what makes it special. You don't have a valid argument to exchange everyone's whistle for something else. Should've stuck with a "Hey guys, you should sell the Sword Dance from Graal The Adventure on iClassic!" after all.

Hey, I know... put all that junk on sale so the rest of us who don't spar can have access to it as well.

Nope. The item you receive in destiny only results in tails when you flip it. The GST item is a real coin toss.
