Player-held Event

I'm planning to host a player event some time in June and decided to make a survey to gather some opinions. It's two months away but no harm doing some early planning.

Would appreciate the extra opinions and feedback

I don't think she means that you have to pay 20k gralats to enter, but you'll get above 20k gralats if you win.

It's asking how many gralats would interest you to join her player-hosted event.

@OP, what events were you thinking of doing? Aside from the opinions the players have on the survey.

Possibly some team events. I've got a few ideas so far and I'm trying to cover as many aspects of the game as possible.

What I have so far is:
Turf Wars (using bows) (in teams)
Hide and Seek (possibly in pairs)
Team Fort
Bush Race
Sword Tag

Trying to get the details down right now. The idea of having judges so I'll probably have to find some too

4-Lom 03-27-2017 02:19 PM

Can you give some more specific information regarding what you mean by 'player held event' ? I'm unclear on what the details are.

She'll be hosting a series of events which will be held in June. To determine the winners it'll either be elimination or whoever has the highest points. Events that are usually hosted by GP's will be used as a template for her event at her house or guild house.

Milo 03-27-2017 02:28 PM

Not all of them will be team-based. Some will be individual and the final winner will be determined based on points or elimination. Specific details will be given when I've settled on what I'm doing

Foxmon 03-27-2017 03:02 PM

Will there be a prize only for the winner, or also prizes for second and third place?

Considering this right now. I intend to take the results from the survey and consider the prize and possibly the second and third place.

So just survivor... Or big brother.
Cant wait to waste 10 hrs for nothing again

Milo 03-27-2017 04:23 PM

Just to clarify, elimination isn't referring to voting off players. Possible misunderstanding that was brought up

Sounds fun , looking forward to this

kaire 03-27-2017 10:23 PM

I love player-held events! I hope you come up with something amazing and excited. Adding to this part of the community is something I always love and approve it. Can't wait!

Agonee 03-27-2017 11:20 PM

@what raeven said! Hope there will a few cool team activities!

Milo 03-28-2017 12:24 AM

The results for the process in which the winner will be chosen is rather redundant now since quite a few people mistook elimination for voting off so i might just go with accumulation of points which is easier to design team based mini games for and team based stuff seems to be something a lot of people want.

So far what I've got for team games is:

Turf Wars
Using bows and arrows, I'll set up some barriers and the winning team gets points. Losing team gets nothing.

Hide and Seek
Was thinking of doing this one in pairs and a couple rounds. Each round the pair gets a riddle or question to answer for the next clue. Depending on the participants(hopefully there are some), the points will be something like: first 5 pairs get 2, next 5 pairs get 1, remaining get none.

Thats all I've got for now. Any input would be greatly appreciated

You could add CTF and maybe even a Parkour like Inco (AA) has in his GuildHouse

I might do CTF. I'll take a look at that parkour Inco has and consider the idea of it

Haven't really gotten to deciding on judges yet but I'll let you know if I do

TBH I'm not keen on having a bunch of people who don't exactly do anything but afk since the mini games in this event will include competitive aspects of the game so I'll be setting some criteria for participants if there are too many players that wish to participate. Right now the plan is to have about 50 participants.

Fashion show was suggested by some people. Was thinking of doing it and letting judges vote for the winners. Does this sound good or nah?

If you want a more competitive event like you were saying earlier, a fashion show is not the way to go. Things like the turf war, ctf, or something similar is a competitive game. Being judged on a fashion show is basically arbitrary and subjective. The others have objective goals that players or teams are competing to reach either the fastest or the best.

slyde 03-29-2017 06:03 PM

Honestly having "judges" makes anything subjective. Unless they are monitors, looking to make the game go smoothly and cleanly.

So yeah, I would stay away in having judges unless you want participants complaining how they favored one or the other.

Having people involved owuld make anything subjective, but saying that they'll monitor the events instead of judge them sounds neater. I would probably give those chosen to monitor the events have a different approach to their assignment as well.

Agonee 03-29-2017 08:50 PM

Fashion show and Role Play 1v1s please!!!!

The fashion show was merely a suggestion made and brought up to see how it would be taken. Regardless of whether it will happen or not the event remains competitive with turf wars and the other mini games.

As of right now the judges are monitors and one or two are helping me plan this event.
