Tutorial:tricxtas sensible approach to testing custom uploads!

Alrite, here we go. Try to keep up

1) download the pc client.
If you're not sure how you can find out in this tutorial:
http://www.graalians.com/forums/show...t=test+customs

2)log in as a guest or whatever and click on start->install packages then double click on level editor under developer tools and download that level editor :0

3)go to your graal folder and open the level editor
http://i.imgur.com/2KcEl.png

4)create a npc by navigating the radio buttons on the side and click on the player like outline and dragging it onto the level and a script window will open, DONT CLOSE IT

5)create your script, see the screenshot for the majority of the explanation...

6)close the script window and click the play button at the top right of the window and you're done! :D

I hope this makes life easier for some people, I also hope I'll not be seeing so many incorrect uploads from now on.

Edit:p.s.make sure your upload files are in the graal folder or you wont see them!

Tricxta 02-02-2012 04:37 AM

Not enough steps. There are easier ways.

Furryamigo 02-02-2012 05:06 AM

I thought it was good...

LavaClaw 02-02-2012 05:09 AM

I like it, it will help me make my NPC when i get around to it on my level too. Nice work :)

Make sure you put //#CLIENTSIDE at the very top of the script if you want this gs1 script to work online

LavaClaw 02-02-2012 05:24 AM

Can you do a tutorial similar for mac users?

Dylan 02-02-2012 10:27 AM

Great tutorial! Although there are simpler methods :)

Tyler 02-02-2012 02:22 PM

Confusing for noobies to PC like me lol. I'm going to stick to replacing the files it 's easier.

fp4 02-02-2012 02:30 PM

The level editor only supports 8-bit/256 Color PNGs and GIFs.

Replacing head(0-10).png with your head image, using it, and logging on nearly any server except GK and Zone is much easier.

Kyro122 02-02-2012 03:09 PM

I made a video and I'm uploading it to YouTube in like 20 minutes or do. I'll post the link when I'm done.

XENA* 02-02-2012 03:12 PM

Great thanks! Lol btw how do you install era packages on graalEditor? xD

Make sure you put //#CLIENTSIDE at the very top of the script if you want this gs1 script to work online

:) some additions
PHP Code:

//#CLIENTSIDE
function onPlayerTouchsMe() {

player.head      "head2.png";   //changing the head

player.body      "body4.png";   //changing the body

player.shield    "shield3.png"//changing the shield

player.sword     "sword3.png";  //changing the sword

player.attr[1]   = "hat3.png";    //changing the hat

player.colors[0] = "red";         //changing a body parts color if its supported

player.colors[1] = "green";       //changing a body parts color if its supported

player.colors[2] = "blue";        //changing a body parts color if its supported

player.colors[3] = "purple";      //changing a body parts color if its supported

player.colors[4] = "black";       //changing a body parts color if its supported

NOTE:
This will only work online. And for the colors: There are the same colors possible just like on iEra / iClassic. So just open them there. Also the order of the player.colors are the same like on iEra / iClassic. But still different for each body in most cases. So just mess around.

Tricxta 02-02-2012 10:43 PM

Yer that is preferable... only thing is you can't see the effects of your scripts while working offline and in the editor which is why I find gs1 preferable for such things.

Furryamigo 02-04-2012 07:12 PM

I use this method to test out hats and ganis before I upload them to iclassic

Maxy 02-04-2012 07:16 PM

Great guide +rep

Kyro122 02-04-2012 07:49 PM

Tricxta, can you post the script so I can just copy paste it into the script section?

DragonRider 02-05-2012 04:13 AM

Make sure the images used are in the same directory as the level created (especially for your customs) else you won't see them.

Start the download again and find where it saves the documents too ( don't overwrite it though, do this to get the directory or search for Graal.exe )

Skyzer 02-09-2012 05:20 PM

Just test your head in editor. I'm sick of kids asking me why head0.png doesn't look like their head.
