Coco's house renovation!
 

Not all of you all probably interested but i find Coco's house is pretty cool so since it got re-opened i decided to make a thread about it.

She added a couple of empty rooms which she will probably add stuff in the futur
but the main room for the moment is the top room with a ball ring where you can jump in which.But the main thing IMO is that theirs a farm that has the same time of respawn of the grass like in Grotto which is awesome to farm @ but will probably get even more crowded in the future than Grotto.

Last post messed up so I'm reposting it.

It seems odd that Coco's house can be ranked against other houses in the leader boards when it's a completely different level no one else can have and she can really add anything she wants to it.

Not here having a bitch, it just seems unfair to the people who put heaps of time, effort and money into making houses to be outranked by this.

Yeah I think they should really fix the house rating leaderboards, the All Times can wait!

Well there's no prize for it... so it's just numbers.
I'd like to see some sort of 'All time likes' information somewhere in a player's profile in general... maybe an achievements or trophies tab that outlines what events they've won/placed in on the leaderboards... along with any previous accomplishments like the easter event... or candy grab at halloween... something to bring noteworthy feats and even just participation in the game to light in more than just pure numbers :)

You talked about house likes leaderboards and I replied that imo and prolly in most others too the PK AND BK ALL TIME are way more important than some house liking leaderboard

1.) I was referring to house likes (total) being added to profile.
2.) Baddy Kills and Player Kills have a (total) score viewable in profile.
3.) All are equally unimportant.
4.) Having an opinion is like having a religion*... it's great to have an opinion, it's ok to share it with some people now and then, but whipping it out at every opportunity and shoving it in people's faces is considered inappropriate and might get you into trouble in public.

I'd give Coco's house a thousand likes over any of those waste of time, money, and scam codeshops. All/most the top houses lack creativity and lack originality. Most of the top houses on the leaderboards are nothing but farming scams. I'm glad that top houses of the season gets no prize.

I don't think you're anyone that could judge or tell me what I could do and couldn't, whatsoever I don't need real life advice from an experienced role player lol, all I did was replying that for me and many others the ALL TIME "LEADERBOARDS" are more important than your personal house likes stats.

Has anyone told you before how seriously you take criticism and how dumb you look whenever you reply to it, if not I'm just letting you know.

So would I in all honesty.

When I posted this I was thinking that it seemed harder for other people who were trying to create unique and creative houses to get higher rankings and get recognised for having really great houses, when you compare it to someone like Coco's house.

It had a couple instances of far-out stuff.
One was a halloween themed body sale.
Another was the 'zol's pub' toilet maze from back in the day.
There was also a nifty little yellow toque sold there at one point. :)

Rufus has lifted up his presence, though, from the game.

Maybe this will help you? Honestly, I've never cared that they were removed. I PK for fun, not because "oh man I gotta pass <user> today!". Everyone does things differently, but if you're good enough you'll be known regardless... Leaderboard or no leaderboard.

Besides, CD's top 50 list does the job well enough.

Yeah his account isn't on graal anymore. But I do remember there being a hat you could buy at the end with a crown on a wolf or whatever it was.

Since most older PKers etc. Are prolly busy irl it's hard to keep up in seasonal boards, the all times boards still let us or at least me PK a bit daily to pass other players, I enjoy climbing leaderboards / slowly racing others without needing to spend my whole life in Graal.

I would understand the need to remove her house if there was a reward or if the house leaderboard meant anything at all, but you cant please everyone ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It takes a spot from other people with regular houses so in a way it was unfair yes

Yep. Crybabies. If anything, it gave some semblance of a standard to aim for and embarrassed those kids who just pump out the same layout for the tree house level with like 20-30 codes and run folks through 24/7 to rise to the top :P

It's not a big deal to me imo. Was never my intention to be on the leaderboards and I'm pretty sure the reason I was on them in the first place was because of the valentines event. Whenever I host an event everyone enters my house and i shoot up in the leaderboards. I don't really get why people got sour about that though considering I'm not taking anything away from them lol, but w/e. I just want to make some kind of perma-nexus kind of thing that players can enter and do different crap in and have fun. I actually plan on adding some spar rooms and whatever else comes to mind. With Dusty helping me i could make anything ;) (He's the one who made the ball pit balls for me)

Though I have to admit the current people on the leaderboards are extremely disappointing. Dusty and I often check them out because we want to see what players do with their houses and like every single one is a code shop of some kind. I don't even get how the current leader of the day/week/month/season is #1 when her house is just a code shop scam with parts that'll shove you back to the beginning so you have to do it all over again lol. wtf? How and why did so many people like that?

People 'like' automatically in many cases. Just because there is a dearth of experienced players who recognize what goes into making a 'good' house (or are tired of codeshops and know where to get codes online), the players at the top of the leaderboard are the ones who advertise for longer hours in public places. Some players even have secondary accounts to direct flow from a smaller codeshop to a larger, main codeshop in order to garner more likes.

The simple reason, so far as I can tell, is that there is no incentive for players to NOT like a house immediately upon entry. There is no limit to the number of likes they can give out, and no benefit to liking a quality house with intricate design. I've found that designing my house layout actually LOSES likes over time, when compared to others who are on the board, because I am not standing out advertising or spamming invitations like other players.

In a way, this incentivizes making a crappy codeshop on a secondary account, spamming new players with invitations, and not changing up your layout, purely because there is money to be made from players wandering through the bushes in your house, and the higher on the list you are, the more people wander through. Funny how that works...

P.S. - My house has zero codes, and I'm in the top 50 for season <3

All those useless afk mouths to feed drive me a little crazy. Code shop spam is damn thick and they specifically target new players coming off the boat from Balamb

It's one of the first things you'll see after the tutorial, just a mass of afk code shops and it doesn't represent graal classic too well. I hope to see codes phased out and replaced with the new "accessories" personally

Is it just me who has noticed sometimes the like button is covered by the item you would normally have in that item slot. Perhaps it could, to some extent, be blamed on this? I dunno, people want to use their items in houses i guess.

That really sucks :( The whole purpose of house leaderboards and liking houses was to motivate more people to make cool houses and have the cool houses up at the top for people to see...wish we could think of way to fix that but I have 0 ideas that would work lol. It's really, really disappointing to only see code shops on the leaderboards...like dusty and I were really hoping to see people utilizing the fashion show furniture and making a cool catwalk and stuff, but nope...this makes me really sad. Especially when #1 is literally a f***king code shop scam. Kinda pees me off.

This, the like button covers the top first of our actions and people are sometimes forced to click on it to use their bombs or whatever that was on that top button. Maybe, place the like button on the bottom middle, where the magnifying glass is located. I doubt this will fix the whole codeshop leaderboard thing, but it will help a little.

This is why i believe an actual rating system would be much better. The like system is based on quantity not quality but if we were able to rate a house from 1-10 and have the highest averaging house with a base minimum of ratings at the top we could weed out these terrible code shop scams and bring up the plenty of beautiful houses that exist on graal since there's no way for someone to force you to rate their house a 10.

If that was aimed somewhat at me making this post, I want to clear up that I didn't make this thread to complain that you're house outranks the same codeshops repeated on the leaderboards, nor did I make this with the end goal being to see your house off the leaderboards. I made this post simply because I was talking with some friends and thought that it's unfair for people who put many hours and money into their houses (Not specifically codeshops, even though that's really all it is) to be outranked by a house with a level design that nobody else can have and I wanted to see if there was any reason to that.

I made a somewhat original house, no codes, no bushwalk people barely entered, even less liked it. So i closed it to friends only. 4-lom has been in there >0>

But, if you think about it, people are only there to: appreciate it for 10mins or less and never come back, hangout, or look for some "rare" codes to dress their avatars.

So there really isn't much incentives to staying in someone else's house, if it is just all design. Very similar to how the new updates like Castle is hyped for a few seconds then die down.

I think I had mentioned it at the outset as a foreseeable issue.
Some things to consider might be

• limiting the number of houses a player can like in a day
• making it a 'rating' system instead of a 'like' system with a leaderboard
• removing shield/sword graphics as displayable in furniture pieces
• only allowing VIP members to register on the leaderboard (or take part in the 'like' system)
• add the word "House" to the swear filter (lol)
• re-instate the annoying idle warp, but to extremely distant locations
• remove the ability to lock down bushes
