Should I buy a PS4?

I dunno if this is the right thread, but I kinda wanna get a PS4. I have XB1 and PC, but there are so many good looking exclusives for PS4. Im mainly in it for TLOU2/Remastered and Uncharted 4, but there were a few others that looked good. Ive decided either a Nintendo Switch for TLOZ BOTW or PS4. I dont have enough money for both. I know Switch releases 2017, and TLOU2 releases 2018.

GenoIndeed 12-06-2016 01:59 AM

Id make a checklist of what both have to offer and compare

Santa Claus 12-06-2016 02:58 AM

Depends on what type of gamer you are.
I grew up with Nintendo but my age now and well idk. I don't really enjoy the games on the Wii U and I have it. I haven't played it since I bought it and only played it a few times after. I use my PS4 the most and I even have a gaming laptop but I still play my PS4 more.
But that is because I can just pick up my controller and play the games right away and still use my laptop on the side...
There is a lot of good exclusives coming out for the PS4. Personally I would say go with the PS4.

I don't know of any xbox 1 exclusives so if anyone here is a Xbox users. Mind listing them.

Xbox One exclusives:

Forza
Dead Rising 4 (1 year exclusivity)
Halo
Quantum Break
Recore
Crackdown 3 (Seems like they're building hype for it - comes out in 2017 or later)

Personally, Xbox One's exclusive games are ****, especially when compared to the PS4's exclusives. I know timed exclusives are getting popular and that's where it seems that Xbox wins because PS4 is getting DLC first and some indie games first, but Xbox One has had games like Tomb Raider that just recently got released to PS4 after all this time.

I plan on getting a PS4 this Christmas basically for the exclusive games. I don't think I'm even going to buy a PSN pass. PS4 has a completely different style with most of their exclusives. They're darker games, more mysterious, and all around more interesting. If you want, I can list some of the PS4 games I want to get when I get mine.

PS4 exclusives:

Infamous 2nd Son
The Last of Us
The Order: 1887
Until Dawn (oh boy am I hyped for this)
Ratchet and Clank (I actually don't want it, but it's got good reviews)
Uncharted (The Collection/4)
Bloodborne

PigParty 12-06-2016 04:51 AM

what's that new zombie game that they showed at E3 for the PS4? I thought that looked pretty cool.

Eugeen 12-06-2016 11:23 AM

Yes

PS4 master race!

Bowlich 12-06-2016 05:23 PM

Don't forget The Last Guardian.

I've said that I would replace my Playstation 2 when they finished that game. Took them long enough.

oh yea it does look good. The reviews seem to be decent but they aren't great. That's the kind of games I'm getting into, though. Short(ish), simple games that focus on puzzles/story.

GenoIndeed 12-06-2016 07:26 PM

Im getting a ps4 mainly for kingdom hearts 3

Bowlich 12-06-2016 07:29 PM

PigParty,

I don't recall the reviews being spectacular for Ico. And even Shadow of Colossus got good but not perfect scores. But I think a lot of people consider both to be quite exemplar titles for the medium.

Never even heard of Shadow of Colossus but I'll look it up. Thanks

Since we're talking about PS4 exclusives, does anyone know of other PS4 exclusives that are good? Other than what has already been talked about on here.

MisterFacee 12-07-2016 01:57 AM

I personally dont like XB1 exclusives other than Halo(which isnt very good anymore), but I think what ill do is save up for both. Ill probably wait to read reviews for the Switch and BOTW though. Thanks guys.

Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain were two good games from Sony that were remastered to PS4.

Get the Switch if you're into games like Zelda, Pokemon, etc.
But, for now, you should wait until January 12th when Nintendo announces the Switch's specs, upcoming games, and prices. That is the best time to decide imo.

I got both during a sale for $15 :D

I looked Beyond Two Souls & Heavy Rain and they look like the kind of exclusives that I'm getting a PS4 for in the first place. Adding those to my list.

MisterFace 12-31-2016 04:04 AM

xbox is great. PS4 just does have more & better exclusives.

Dawg its you! the former PR from iEra. I had your statue in my house dawg

Sardon 12-31-2016 09:52 PM

if you like multiplayer games get a good pc

Single player stuff is better on a console like the ps4

The Wii U does have good exclusives but I beleive that games like xenoblade chronicles x will be remastered for the switch.

Xbox is good if you're into bethesda games since you can use mods in fallout 4 and skyrim while on ps4 you are very limited when it comes to mods.

I like it. To be honest, it has me hooked more than the tomb raider series, probably just because of the bright color scheme. I also have to admit that Uncharted has the best voice acting I've ever heard in a video game. Literally the guy who plays Nathan Drake is amazing. The camera angle tries too hard to be cinematic sometimes and makes for difficulty seeing what to do next but it's also their first uncharted game & it's not too bad. Story is good and gameplay is good. **** load of combat. Definitely a good game, though. I'm probably halfway through the first one so I still have a lot more to go.

get a PC if you want to mod games, thats where all the mods come from.

a lot of people don't want to game on a PC, though. Consoles are easy as hell to use and you don't have to worry about all the **** that you do on a PC. And it's a **** ton cheaper. Xbox is getting mods (more than PS4) and they will probably continue with other game companies as time goes on. It won't be like PC but anyone who feels like they need to mod every single game they get shouldn't own a console anyways.

The Uncharted series is probably the best franchise ever created; with an amazing story, complex puzzles, and gameplay.

I haven't found any complex puzzles yet. There was a puzzle that I had to push blocks in the right order even though my motebook directly told me the right order. Otherwise the only complex part is ammo conservation. Granted, I'm only halfway through the first game. But so far I do agree with a good story and gameplay.

Oh I came across complex ones in Uncharted 4 and the crazy thing about each game is that it gets longer. So expect about 20+ chapters per game.

Yea, haha. I figured it would get longer with each game. I finished the first cut scene in the first uncharted game. Literally only the cut scene and it said I was 3% through the campaign already.
