2017 VIP Ideas
 

Okay so everyone seems to always hate most of the VIPs that come out every month because we're "running out of ideas"...which is more or less true. Ideas are hard to come by and only getting harder. 2016 is nearing its end and soon begins a new era of VIP items. So if anyone has any ideas for VIP, post it here and you just might see it in game sometime.

Right now we're still only doing mounts and morphs, but that might eventually change. If you have any ideas for something that can be released for VIP other than mounts and morphs, then post about it. Otherwise, list any ideas you have for mounts and morphs you'd like to see.

-Statue morph that represents a knight/noob on a small pedestal
-A mount in which some sort of element (ex. streak of electricity) is moving the player
-tombstone morph that engraves the player's head on the surface
-An invisible mount that emits wind
-Mount that floats on water?

People won't care about vip items, until they see something they like. You might not always be able to come up with something new every month.

For those with vip

- Discounts on select items. Every month the shops will be updated with discounts, and much like the shopping tag symbol, every discounted item will have a symbol indicating that it has received a discount. That is up for staff to decide, and example could be a ripped tag.

- Old hats will be brought back every month, the hat might cost up to 20-40k due to it's rarity, but for those with vip, the price will be reduced. One hat on the 1st, the 2nd hat on the 15th. Or a set of hats (2-3) on the 1st, and another set on the 15th.

- More emojis, and commands for those emojis.

- More ganis, free and only available with vip. Prayer, Laugh, Pinch, Slap, Mic Drop?, Shift + R?/Unseathe Sword, new dances, etc

I probably had more ideas for vip before, but I ended up not writing them down.

Maybe more pets?

I like Aguzo's ideas(crazy, I know. Feel like Aguzo and i always butt heads). Gani's have always been a pleasure of mine, and having exclusive VIP gani's would easily be enough to push me to subscribe. Besides the old hat one, dunno about that. a redone version could be cool though.

Have the hat shop at VIP island restock once a month with something new(I know that's an addition 24 hats per year. Just an idea).

I honestly believe that VIP could give maybe give an addition bomb blast per bomb(with a mount). But you(dusty or whatever administrator handled Graal's economy) would have to see how that would effect the gralat.

Perhaps making more activities for VIP island could make it a better travel destination(and Crono/Imprint/anyone who can; retile it please. It's ugly, and the buildings seemingly have little purpose besides the occasional hat or food item. Or maybe just make a new VIP island altogether). Right now the only reasons to go there are pets, hats, furniture, and the loot buying baby. What do all those things have in common? You could choose one month out of the year and do all of it. Besides the furniture limit extend and the VIP item, nothing keeps people coming back. Here are a few ideas to make people come back.

-Maybe host weekly events there, for hats or something. People complain about not making it into events, so maybe going and being able to que up and get into an event with certainty is a way to make people go there. Of course that would require making some hats, as those VIP hats probably shouldn't be event hats. Sure, it might require a lot of admin time to host the events, but I don't see it being a problem if it's one a week or once a month.

- Maybe add some special loots that only appear in VIP islands waters. Or add some bugs that are only on VIP island. You could even host that one bug catching contest event there from time to time.

- I understand you can't have everything be reliant on admin's to host events, so perhaps the soccer field could be ported over there.

- add more ways to travel to it. Going all the way across the map for some people is a hassle. Maybe the other ship captain take you to VIP island, too.

- let people restock bananas from trees or something.

I'll try and think on it more and maybe send ideas for hats and mounts, since that was part of the topic for this thread.

With the next guild update that is coming out, you should give special features to guild leaders that have VIP. So maybe a bigger guild house that all members can edit, and furniture uploads. but only for guilds that have leaders that buy VIP and you can only contribute to the GH if you have VIP.

Im against the bringing back old hats idea. A lot of old hats dont fit in with classic's new gfx style and why recycle when you can bring new stuff to the table?

I would actually like some humanoid morphs. And maybe add a grab gani (triggers me that you cant grab as a morph) and pretty much do everything a normal player can do. For example a skeleton or a ninja morph

Ganis
Not sure how many skilled gani artists classic has, but It would be neat to see some one-time VIP gani items spread out here and there. People really seem to love funny little animations like the butt shake, jiggle, etc.
some ideas:
- october: holding a glowing pumpkin
- holding a flapping chicken pet above your head (like zelda - I think that would be fine considering the first VIP item was navi)
- moonwalk dance
- jumping jacks
- sitting down eating spaghetti

Juggles
Shouldnt be a common VIP item, that way people will still buy juggles from nexus, but might be a nice way to spice things up.

Jump ropes
Special jump ropes are rarely sold, so it would be cool to see a some as VIP items.

Morphs
- Water Morphs. These morphs would work on land and in water. That includes flying or water animation. This would give them special value.
- Glowing morphs. It was done for Navi, and I think modern players would be really into it.
- Costumes. Sure, I hated costumes back when they were a regular for VIP, but now that the GAT is packed with amazing pixel artists, I think its a great opportunity for some less realistic, for fun items.

Temporary Items
These items would only be in the players inventory when subscribed, they are the same for every VIP member. If the temp item was released in February, and someone buys VIP in march, that item would still appear in the temp folder.
- Sign item only available while subscribed. It could say VIP on it and could be held like an umbrella (able to move and sit while holding it)

Furniture
A treat for those house enthusiasts. An uncommon VIP reward could be a furniture set.
This would include a unique couch, table, chair and maybe a small decorative item. Since it would be a pretty good deal I think alot of players would go for it.

oh yeah, and the items would sell for 0 gralats since they were free.

Subcategory: Pets
Decorative item could be replaced by a pet.

VIP Shop
VIP subscribed only shop that could be located outside Graal City. In this store there could be special items for sale. The shop would act more like a themed shop (nexus, crypt, rev) and only be open a handful of times a year. The items would be priced at below average.
- Hats
Animated?
- Food
The food could give a special status effect, so players would be more likely to buy alot and collectors will kill for it after a year or so.
- Heads for 8k
- Indexed Bodies?

Accessories
Ol' West recently introduced a new item type called accessories. I haven't played Ol' West since they came out but they looked pretty cool. I think adding accessories to the VIP shop or as an item for the month is a nice idea. Tbh I think accessories should just be added to the game in general, it adds alot more opportunity to create new things and adds another layer of customization to the player.

Sadly the gani-type foods don't trade - jellybeans, drinks, popcorn... they can't be placed on a plate.



Bugs
- works for mounts and morphs
- easily reskinnable for alt versions
- literally millions of kinds out there!
- Suggest Beetles, ants, millipede/centipede

Reptiles
- again, many colors, easily reskinned
- many have the same basic anatomy of other mounts
- Suggest lizards (chameleon from blob is awful), snake, komodo dragon

Foods
- The apple is cute, and similar template could be adapted to more fruits
- Flying chocolate chip cookie mount anyone?
- Desserts, especially, could be fun
- Suggest holiday-themed food items, foreign foods (sushi for example), exotic fruits and vegetables

Pets
- A few have been done but there are many kinds that could be
- Other than cats or dogs, there are many types
- Again, foreign pets make for interesting subjects
- Suggest Chow Chow, Samoyed, Budgie, other cats

Dinosaurs
- Again, a few have been done, but not enough!
- With the irregular giraffe mount template many options open up
- 2-p mounts (and small morphs) could be doable as well
- Suggest anklyosaurus, diplodocus, archaeopteryx, triceratops

Clockworks
- Something of a staple technology in many pseudo-medieval settings
- Basically anything can be skinned to become clockwork
- Steam effects add to global warming
- Suggest clockwork horse, clockwork rhino, ornithopter, clockwork buggy

On a slightly more serious note, i think multiuser interactive stuff is always fun.

Purely cosmetic
Can always be fun. Players already seem to like interactive stuff. Of course, these things should only be usable in non-PVP areas. but can always be fun. Players already seem to like interactive stuff. Of course, these things should only be usable in non-PVP areas.

Popup bar: deploy a bar with 3 stools that players can sit on with the item owner being the bartender (random ganis to show drinking, bartender polishing bar, serving drinks etc)
DJ Booth: deploy a DJ and maybe a mini dancepad which players can choose to interact with
Cosmetic Duels: Allows you to challenge a player to a friendly gani-based duel. Random choose sword fighting, pistols and maybe just slapping. Server determines a winner and sets each player winning/losing animation.
Deployable Table / Picnic Blanket: Just drops a 4 seat table you can click to sit on. Could show random animations (passing food, taking a drink etc).

Bit more fitting of VIP status
Getaways: Monthly thing but perhaps every month, VIP members can warp to a specially created area to view. Maybe sneak previews, maybe something silly. Just something.

Far more interactive (maybe not VIP material?)
Two person vehicle where players each control one side of the vehicle aka left and right (alternating to move forward). Need to work together to get anywhere (think of those two-people swan boats). Added benefit: can have races with this kind of thing.

If I was still working there, this is the kind of stuff I prob would have put in that Events Shop. I never was truly on board with the VIP stuff :|

There's some good ideas on here, but also vague ones. Some of you are saying ganis and toys and such...but could you be more specific? Like what kind of ganis and toys and reskins would you like to see?

Some ideas are good but probably wouldn't be used for VIP, like water mounts for instance. Water/flying mounts are too uncommon to just be given away for a VIP item I think.

Morphs that would act as humanoid would be a bit much i think...that would basically be making a body/head combo + frames for whatever special actions it would perform...and anyone that has ever attempted to make a body from scratch would know what a pain it is to make one (unless you're like insane and think making bodies is fun somehow...*cough*sun*cough*)

Someone mentioned a walrus mount and I like that idea. Dunno about the sneakers though lol... maybe as a alternate version that's sold at Oasis? What other mounts or morphs would anyone like to see? Since right now we haven't started implementing any other kind of VIP possibility due to working on more important things...all we can work with now are mounts and morphs.

One of my favorite morphs is the penguin costume morph that swims on its back in water (VIP room of onnet store, christmas 2011, i think).
-so more morphs that can swim, or do another activity besides walking.
-or more "costume" morphs that use your graal head.

those-be-fighting-words gani(holds fists up, circles them. Or maybe just a simple sprite-style animation similar to Sagat from SF2),

sleep gani(character sideways basically, have seen a few NPC's do that already),

you could do plenty of dances(Egyptian style dance, headspin, robot, ect).

I really want a "the wave" animation, so players can build a wave, like crowds do in sports stadiums.

A regular waving animation(just a simple hand raise and move side to side.)

A broom(I've seen an NPC with a broom at mod).

Jumping jacks(move feet in and out, hands up and down).

I'll try and think of more, some of these would be harder to pull off with Graal characters than others, I don't make gani's so I wouldn't know the limitations.

well I mean that's all we can do now, but all other ideas are welcome so we can use them in the future. I just also want people to post mount/morphs ideas, too lol
