Another Mental/Social Problem

Lately, I have been feeling some unexplainable boredom that if I think about too much, I think about how I can't live thinking about it. I know, it's weird. I'm still very antisocial for some reason, but another problem that hit me is nostalgia? It's in a negative way as I feel bad about past times, seeming to be better than life now. Thinking about nostalgia results in the same thoughts of being bored(--^)

Does anyone know how to counter this?

Go see a therapist.
Otherwise just go outside and do sh*t

Go out with your friends. Get a job. Play golf. There are literally billions of things to do in this world.

I find that building things. Even small things. Gives me great satisfaction and can ease a troubled mind filled with complicated thoughts.

Gardens are insane at erasing stress. I'm growing two jalapeņo plants currently (worlds tiniest garden)

Fishing is a good activity as well

Do I really need help?

5hift 07-02-2016 04:30 PM

No.

You just need to stop acting like there is nothing else in the world to do.

Because there is.

I feel like I have lost interest in talking to people.
It just hasn't really come to me to try different things.

Do I really need help?

probably not

I feel like that a lot too, at least the nostalgia part
growing up in the '90s makes me feel spoiled, like I had experienced the best TV, the best internet, the best games, etc.

I might think about it for a long time and catch myself YouTubing Windows 98 sounds and Ren & Stimpy episodes and then I get over it

honestly, the best cure for nostalgia-based feels is to try and go back and experience the things you feel nostalgic about
for example, Final Fantasy VII gives me the most hardcore nostalgia but if I were to set up my PlayStation and play it I'd get bored after 10 minutes because it simply has not aged well and I begin to realize how much better everything around me is today

I find cool RPG Maker Pokemon games like Pokemon Reborn or Pokemon Zeta to play.

They apply the nice 8-bit graphics from the old games, Pokemon from all generations along with an amazing new story.

This is exactly what I've been doing, playing some rom hacks and fan games. It helps distract me, and there are definitely some good ones. If you really don't want to go out and socialize, then just immerse yourself in gaming. There are some awesome stories to be told through video games. If you're enjoying your life, then it's not really a bad one.

Gaming is most of what I do, but thanks for trying which really touches me!

What games do you feel nostalgic about? I'm 26 so hearing this will make me feel old, let's go

5hift 07-03-2016 10:41 PM

Had a friend from Colorado (aka VAPE NASHON) come over to visit the east coast.

Took him DC to hang out and had a lot of fun.

Honestly, just make a schedule for yourself. Find something to look forward to.

Pretty soon your summers are coming to consist of nothing but school prep and volenteer work for school.

Take advantage of your freedom while you can.

Mostly a Korean game named Grand Chase that not many know of. That game took over my life, and if it was still around and I was still interested I would have even less of a life. Lol.
