Our Onett down looks better though

Perseus 06-08-2016 05:27 AM

You are aware that the entirety of Classic is a replica of Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past?

Everett 06-08-2016 06:43 AM

I still don't get why they haven't changed the name of Onnet Town in Classic considering they've removed a lot of items, places, etc. related to Nintendo/HAL.

Aaron 06-08-2016 07:56 AM

Casual, but fitting, repost

Weeno 06-08-2016 02:06 PM

Was belle island a Nintendo thing? Cause it was changed to delta

Colin 06-08-2016 03:30 PM

Not sure if they even named it after this, but if they did it is pretty common for games to do things like this and it isn't really 'stealing' in most cases if a developer likes a game they usually add something that relates to it in some way, same applies to anything else they may like such as movies/songs

Even then it's pretty hard to create a unique name that isn't already used somewhere, you could screenshot anything on Graal and link it to other games even if not intended

Relic 06-08-2016 06:43 PM

Graal is literally called Graal because they weren't allowed to use Legend of Zelda Online back in 1998 or 1999 or something......... Why is anyone even surprised they're using/have used other games' names, assets, etc....

Weeno 06-08-2016 07:10 PM

How did they make up the word graal. It's the most randomest word I've heard in my life

holy grail is a very common name, maybe when they made graal they were trying to add a story line where you find the holy grail

Onnet wasn't the original name of the town. It was Neronomer or something stupid like that.

No, it was originally either Onett or Onnet. Someone told me Neororner was a separate town that directly bordered and that Neororner and Onnet got merged together and just became Neororner at some point. Then, after the wipe of 2006 it got renamed back to Onnet Town for some reason by Master Storm and/or Kino.

Arsenal 06-13-2016 12:45 AM

Interesting. The only thing I've heard about that could be related to that is from Clops. He told me that most of the early content on Graal the Adventure was a combination of private servers. He told me this when complaining about Thor's Ebon Keep.

i probably wasn't around for that in particular but i do remember when folks would upload levels (houses n stuff) across multiple servers and sometimes just straight up upload a dead server's OW for nostalgia's sake. good + fun times.

Honen 06-14-2016 09:46 PM

Also its good to remenber that some heads in classic are copys of cartoons and games like : The majin buu head from DBZ and the dragon-like alien from Duke nukem advenced a game of GBA and some others heads related to anime characters...

One of the difference between graal classic and LoZ without the graphics is that LoZ was way more successful .
