Your Dream Car

If you could have any car in the world, no matter what the price is or whether it's legal/illegal in your country, what would it be?

My favorite car right now is the Ferrari LaFerrari

One like this, definitely. Will ask my parents for one once I start driving.

This exact one is going for 10k USD so that's fairly affordable.

I've driven this car so much in GTA.

around the time that the r35 came out the r34s were actually very affordable here in sweden. i was/am just a poor student though so couldnt make anything of it :(

how much were they over there? solid v.spec R34s were/are selling in canada for around 55k usd, could also find some R32s in the states for around 25

car prices in sweden are high overall but an r32 gtr is cheaper than a ford fiesta st lol

the r34 gtr (non vspec) is cheaper than a 370z here, although prices are rising again because these cars (32, 33, and 34) are slowly becoming legal in the US

Yog 06-18-2016 05:37 PM

The car I own right now is a Midget MKII
Altho it's not as in good condition. Needs bodywork. Can't take pictures because it's back in Florida.

I've always wanted a VW T1 Bus.
Gotta be red and white.

Crono 06-18-2016 05:41 PM

I currently drive one of these cuties, it's basically a current gen vw golf under the SEAT brand:

currently driving an '06 tC (ya i know) but I've been saving for a while and hopefully by the time I've graduated law school, I'll be able to buy my actual realistic dream car, the Subaru BRZ:

http://st.motortrend.com/uploads/sit...ar-end.JPG.jpg

http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20130120/jyheba4y.jpg

the GT86/BRZ/FR-S twins have prob been my favorite line of cars since they were made from the revival of the AE86. want this car so badly so I can actually start tuning as a new hobby once I've graduated. really want the BRZ, but maybe if I can find an FR-S at a good price I can rebadge that to an 86. the '17 Toyota 86 looks too different so I'm sticking with FR-S/BRZ if I do end up getting one of the twins someday

Crono 06-19-2016 10:22 AM

the gt86/brz is the perfect example of japanese car makers ****ing it up. they could have released a turbo version a long time ago but instead stick with an underpowered engine + prius wheels and claim "itz 4 tuners n moders lol".

the only japanese car maker doing it right is nissan. they offer the 370z and GTR but i really hope they revive the silvia lineup. they recently brought back the sunny/pulsar, a performance version of that would also be neat. their infiniti branded cars are pretty good too (g37 is a good price to performance car as far as luxery sports is concerned).

edit: actually toyota is doing OK because their lexus cars are pretty good

edit2: i also should add that you folks living in the US have it so good when it comes to money. your cars are dirt cheap and your fuel prices = basically free

Talon 06-19-2016 09:55 PM

why would the 86 need a turbo? it's a recreation of the original AE86 corolla/sprinter, which was renowned as a lightweight drifting car whose enjoyment in driving comes from cornering and the precise RWD handling rather than power. yeah, stock for stock, it's never going to win any drag races or own any lap time records against other sports cars in its price point (Genesis, Evo X, etc) because that's not what the car was built for, it was built to be an enjoyable, practical, affordable and responsive drive and it does that very well at a $25K MSRP. the 86 is a pure driving car made to maximize precision/handling/feel when driving the car, and it's marketed as such, so I don't see why anyone would even want a turbo in an 86 - power isn't its appeal

and also, the whole "prius tires" thing is a bit of a misconception, the 86/FR-S/BRZ stock tires aren't the same ones that the average everyday stock prius comes with, they're the tires used in the prius' JDM performance plus package. while they're not spectacular, they're not as bad as "prius tires" leads them to be, and most of those who are serious about their cars replace them anyway (as you should on basically any car you're looking to tune)

Crono 06-19-2016 10:14 PM

that car just isnt popular in sweden, im sure the scene in north america is different though

Talon 06-20-2016 12:47 AM

i get it, most people nowadays are hyped on cars who focus on raw power, even in NA where you've got cars like Mustangs and Camaros being extremely popular because of their HP. even in NA it kinda bothers me because a lot of FR-S/BRZ owners here expect it to be "fast" and just get disappointed. idk, I guess I'm one of the few who likes the car as it is, but it's fairly popular in japan and the states (although not for the right reasons here)

Subaru is gonna cater towards the people that want it more powerful with the BRZ STi soon, so there's that option for the people that don't like the feel of the stock 86, I guess that will cause it to get more wide appeal
