What are your expectations for this year's gst? — It is afterall the best part of the year at era besides The Crypt.

Personally, I am not that much excited because Last year's gst it was the most interesting tournament.
Mostely because of the waging rivalry between the 2 best gangs and skilled of era, " iFreeze VS Obsidian " (When judging the gst participants on both teams.)
Obsidian disappeared for a while but in 2014-15' The original members returned taking over all bases where only freeze were their equals.

This part made it so interesting for who it was to win not to mention that the most respected staff in the eyes of the community from base/-complex when it comes to Skill-Based-Play and basing in general was our sports commentator. He already commentated Wars raging inside Neo on twitch before and will this year commentate aswell :D.

Unfortunately, 2015 GST was ruined in 1 major way.
- Only First Place received a reward while Second and Third just got a showoff item....Rewards were cut.

This years GST might be a mystery since Most Original Old Obsidian Members Quit and the most skilled spar/-basing family Freeze Quit aswell.
Will the new team of Duke overwhelm their old team mates?
Will it still be as exciting as before with new/-unkown gangs?

Nobody rlly uses bar. However Meph is planning to release special guns to use at gst to avoid spams and get a skilled gst. If a ping is too high they get kicked...well they say it does never saw someone get kicked before tho.

I won't be participating since the rewards got cut off plus it takes 3+ hrs.
Depending on the poules I will watch the LiveStream.

just thought i'd come on this thread to say. Era and every server on graal in 2016 besides iClassic, sucks

every GST, teams just gets better and better. that's at least for iclassic.
btw isn't magus the best sparring guild in era?

the guns that require skill that you're referring to are called swords

anyway, I do envy that Era has real GST commentators
iClassic GST commentary consists of sandwich eating and the same bias every season (no offense)

They are not really. They won when era was still new and barely any competition. And Their 3 Leads are good rest are mostely recruits that come and go.

Tbh I rather use a gun then a sword, but that's just me.

from classic players whereby each player plays a certain server for a reason which I respect. But since this is at the era section try to keep it on-topic and try not to compare it to classic..Since those threads always end up to nothing but hate.

Saying iEra is better than classic in some kind of way always attracts the players to that thread. You guys aren't even here to discuss the GST and if you truely believe your server is better, then not saying anything at all is the best option since that's your opinion. My opinion has never changed, I've played classic and never liked it that much because it didn't offer a challenge to me as era did. The sparring is great, but everything else is bleh.

Anyways I believe Shrekt is going to win this year again.

graal in general sucks, if your going to spend your time on an awful game like graal, atleast do it on the classic server. trolololo

I confirm this.

We're going to give all the players an amount of points and with that amount of points they can trade it in for gun stats(freeze,spread,ROF).
but damage doesn't change.

as example you want alot of freeze you're going to spend alot of points on freeze but you won't be having enough for spread and ROF so you're going to have to deal with higher freeze and low spread.

Nice, that sounds pretty cool, allows you to create a team composition with different playstyles, etc. I recall trying to play Era on PC a year or two ago and I ended up quitting because I'm a PC player and I noticed major control weaknesses (for example, iDevices can move right while facing left). I'd probably participate if I could get past that. I believe I could make a AutoHotKey script that allows me to use IJKL and WASD (or some alternative) together for movement and directional facing, just not sure if it's worth learning.

i think u have to lock ur stafe with the number key (1&2).
i tried era for couple days, had no talent in dodging bullets and found myself boxing in the gym lol

only gangs currently actively training for GST to my knowledge is Messiah and Kartel, led by God and Famaz,
Shrekt according to zav havent trained yet, and i havent seen any other teams.

when is it going to be? i might join to watch

only really caring about organizational, mechanic, design and public reaction stuff
