Gaming Laptop for under $500 or something

So hi I made a thread a little while ago asking for a gaming laptop under $800 and thanks to you all's help my mom ended up going with a Lenovo Y40-80 Laptop.

So now I come back asking for assistance finding a gaming laptop under $500! Though it doesn't have to be for super gaming, just something that can at least handle them decently, maybe on minimum settings. I mainly want to find one that can be used to do scripting and graphics. Mostly graal work, but also to do a little gaming on it if one is not doing his scripting and pixel arts. This is also only going to be used for when one is traveling since one has a desktop that he can't carry with him everywhere, that way one can work and/or play games when one is not home.

I want to get this laptop for Dusty btw so don't tell him, it's a surprise.

Also once again, please no dell and no HP as I have had bad experiences with them in the past and do not want to burden one with the same bad experiences. Thanks!!

Well he doesn't need a super beefy laptop (and doesn't want one since he has a good desktop). He really only needs a laptop that he can work off of when he's not home, but also do casual gaming (probably mostly, if not only, Minecraft) if he wants.

He'll literally only use it if we go on trips somewhere, which isn't that often so would rather not spend more than $500 on a laptop he'll rarely use. Still want a decent one though, just not too expensive.

Somehow my piece of crap manages to play Elder Scrolls Online.

Hey I mean sure the wire melted the frame from the screen and then burnt up and now the entire screen is useless but it still plays Minecraft. That's all that matters.

Is it even possible to have a laptop for under $500 that can run minecraft lol?

Minecraft is no where near as demanding as some of you seem to think it is. I paid 400 for my laptop 2 years ago and like I said it runs Elder Scrolls Online.

This is my laptop and I been using it since around 2012 and I bought it for 100 from my old job and well it works really well and it has handled a lot. But again I did add in some stuff to make it work a lot better. It goes for around 500 or less nowadays and I love it. Only issue is sometimes it gets blue screen but that was a issue that happen to these series of laptop from dell and it is really easy to replace any ram or screens if you break it.

I do plan on adding a new mother board/proccers and it is pretty big screen but isnt too heavy.

Here are the specs and even the games I played on this laptop on mid level some of those games are on high

no such thing as a $500 'gaming' laptop, give ideal benchmarks or get out

The "$500 gaming laptop" refers to the fact that they want the focus of the laptop to be as close to gaming as possible. You're obviously not going to get high or even mid end performance, but the alternatives could be a more portable laptop, larger media focused laptop, workstation laptop, etc.
