2016 updated aguzo style spar rankings
 

Updated spar rankings for the potential new spar system. Rankings are based off points per win in single spar, gst performance and player opinions.The rankings are primarily active players. The list was mainly made by me, although I did consult with players such as Mikva, David and a few others. Thanks for helping with the construction of the most accurate spar rankings to date.

Note: Only Legendary and platinum tiers are ranked in order, the others are somewhat ordered, but predominately randomised.

Red you beat 0.9 ratio sparrers on average. Tom doesn't solo spar therefore we can only base the rankings off his gst performance, which he went 9-18 in the finals.
This is also based off guild sparring, which everyone you listed does regularly. Most of them have been actively solo sparring this week.*

Dark most of the gold players don't spar and most of them are a lot better then yourself, tooting your own horn only gets you so far.

If you're going to base scores off of anything half of the gold players would be bronze.

Legendary should only be:

Brett, Thallen, Zid, Jack, David, Dante, Zeross, Prime, Kevin (havent sparred him much but I hear he is really good) and Sarah (on iClassic).

I'd also add Clops to Plat tbh

and LR in gold is a no no, he should also be plat

Also could argue Sean for Legendary but I rarely see him spar but he is my boi

Honestly... if you aren't consistently beating everyone else, then you don't belong in legendary.

That said, the only people in legendary should be Brett (When he is active), Dante (When active), Sarah, and Thallen. The rest are diamond/platinum. I should probably be moved down, since I am not active, and wouldn't mind giving my spot to others. (I think I sparred for like the first day of the new season to get #1 for the day, and got lazy)

The only result I can see from this thread is main lobby getting full of tryhards, just to show others they "should be ranked higher" :)

Kevin is great, he can pretty much comeback from any spar and win it healthwise

None of the gold tier players have a positive W-L ratio on me, besides elder triple.

and? most of them are better skillwise (and delay wise when you mention raege and josh who are both pretty horrible delayers)

Red calm down, its just an accurate list in which you are accurately ranked. Its okay that you didn't make the gold tier. Better luck next time?

I don't how you can rank anyone on the server besides the people mentioned as legendary who obviously stick out as the best. Lag and Delay quite obviously play a huge factor and most of the players mentioned as legendary outplay this factor.

I agree with most of it besides me, tom and few others being silver ranked when a few in gold aren't sparrers.

If you're speaking about all time I'd chuck ares in legendary.

I think Warhawk and Shadow deserve a legendary spot. Because some people put them in their top 10-20 of all time

I would def put LR in Plat and would keep GZ in legendary. Don't understand how Thallen could say otherwise

Based off gst performance (they didn't qualify) and solo spar activity they can't be legendary. They are only platinum because when they spar they streak and also they are highly regarded by the spar community.
Same goes for LR, although I have moved him higher.

Honestly... not sure what the requirement for your legendary list is but if Sean and Mk are on it. Pae should def not be in Platinum. Pae has been wrecking most of the best sparrers on this server all of 2016 when he spars.

Pretty simple explanation... I find everyone in the top tier of Dark's list to be extremely hard to spar, except for GZ and Sean

LR should not be in gold, he should be plat. Most of it is solid but really him being gold is just not right.

And if this is based on order then that changes everything in terms of the list (i thought it was just category). If it's based on order then there is a lot wrong about the list... but in the end it's just a list based on personal preferences so oh well

GST plays little effect into how the community views individuals because gst is a team thing. When somebody logs on and wrecks everybody once or twice a week, they are considered good. When somebody does that their whole entire spar career for years straight, they usually become considered legends. has nothing to do with GST. Warhawks def has a spot on that list, Shadow does in my mind, but if you want to argue with shadow, I understand because he hasn't made much of an appearance on this server.
LR is another character that most smart sparrers instantly recognize his skill level when seeing his movements. Anybody can see it, he should not be in Gold in my strong opinion.

I guess Sean is on the list because he is a spar community favorite who does well in Guild spar. ( i think he should be plat too)
GZ is on the list because he dominates everytime he logs on and spars on classic.
Thallen If you go to any forum about the top 5 sparrers of all time you'll see warhawks name on there.

Considering Kamikaze Enguard is sparring on this server now, might swell add him to plat

Also Exalt should be in plat and anthony should be on this list somewhere but he is inactive

Btw the set number for the "key" is silly. There could be 100 platinum sparrers if there are 100 sparers with their own consistent good spar style showing up to the arena and beating other good sparers. There could also be 30 legendary players (but RIGHT NOW there isn't on iclassic)

no i just have eyes. If anybody here was online for GST week and the two weeks after that when war hawk was especially active, they will tell you he was streaking and winning quiet a bit. I'm mentioning him because I've seen forums where people mention him and I can watch somebody spar a few times and make up my mind right away on whether or not they are that good based on their movements and how they predict people.

James205 should be moved down to silver rank, he honestly is the worst sparrer graal has ever seen and he's just a overall bad sparrer...

iclassic OG Legends would be a cool list. Like to list the people we considered AMAZING iPhone sparrers from 2009-2013 even though those styles are outdated and obviously not legendary anymore- like 2010Ryu, 2010-2013Killman,2010Siber,2010Shinta 2010iDisneyWorld 2011-13Kentaro 2012Blake 2012Comyt, 2013Fro, 2011Kata, or anybody else people can think of

Qes, which sparrers in Dark's 1st tier you think Warhawk, Shadow, and GZ could beat in a series?

Right now, not tomorrow or 10 years ago.

I think Warhawk could beat you in a series. I think all three could beat david Mk kevin91 and sean. Warhawks ALREADY beat jack on this server. Not sure how they would do VS primetime and zeroos but I'm sure they would hang close with em. 1-3 spar gap win or lose. To me Brett and Zideric are two of the best on this server, but I'm still pretty sure they could keep a tight gap in a series. Not sure about Dante because I haven't even seen him 1vs1 spar since 2014 ( I haven't). Sarah and Abood, thallen how would you do vs sarah and abode in a series? If you have those patience godbless you. And thats my honest opinion about all of that

Considering I beat "shadow" as you call him 3-0 in a gh then got kicked saying he beat me easily. I think btk got to you as well Idk how that is even possible considering most of your opinions give me the impression you are high or drunk.

I think he'd fall very short of beating Brett, Sarah, Dante, Abood, David, Zideruic, Zeross, and myself... I think it'd be close against Prime, Kevin, MK, and Skull
I have no idea how I'd do against Sarah or Abood because I never spar them, but I don't enjoy sparring against defensive players so I've got that going against me

When i said war hawk (who already beat jack) could beat thallen (not for certain, but close match up. 9-9)

Tbh, don't think Warhawk would beat brett or zideric, but i don't see that being a blow out.
I agree, Shadow shouldn't be added to the list until he proves himself a little more on classic like he did on PC, but war hawk should be added.

WH vs me always been close but i think I usually come out on top in series....he might beat me now idk. The rest who knows, been a long time since I've sparred Shadow. GZ would prolly crush me tho I can't hit that dude for crap.

Anyway, people should consider that assessing how good someone is isn't as simple as X beats Y and Z beats X therefore Z is better than Y

Some sparrers just have poor matchups against a particular player or style, etc.
If we did a round robin between the top 2 tiers, the highest scores would probably come from the first 10 people on Dark's list

No they don't actually compare to those guys in anyway.
