New 3DS Slippery C-Stick

Has this happen to you? Your C-Stick become so damn slippery, your thumb just slips right off whenever you use it? That's what happening to me right now. How can I fix this without modifying my system by spraying weird stuff on it, or replacing the original c-stick with a modified one? Playing Monster Hunter for a few hours is difficult with this terrible c-stick.

Areo 03-13-2016 03:25 AM

Haven't noticed this, and I've put well over 1.5k hours on to the system.

Do you eat while you play or? Not saying that to put you down, curious

Wolfie 03-13-2016 03:32 AM

Nope.

Areo 03-13-2016 03:34 AM

Dunno then, I've had problems with the extra cursor on the right(can't remember what it's called, feel stupid.) but not it being slippery. I tore it with my nail, after playing MH4U for a couple months

Wolfie 03-13-2016 03:52 AM

Damn. I guess my thumb just sweat a lot. After a few hours in, and it's time to say farewell to friction on the c-stick.

Eugeen 03-13-2016 04:48 AM

Tbh at first I thought this whole thread was going to be a "male genitals" joke

Put some sort of texture material (i.e.: tire rubber) on the surface of the c-stick.

The question is, how can I keep it there forever after putting it on? I use my 3DS a lot, and the games I usually play are Xenoblade, and Monster Hunter. Those games needs the c-stick at all time, especially Monster Hunter online since there's no pausing while hunting online. Virtual pad is crap so nope. Not using that.

Krazy glue, duct tape Velcro Etc.

How the hell did you manage to melt your 3ds?

Ash Ketchum 03-13-2016 08:19 AM

Have you tried using a tissue to wipe off the sweat? It used to happen to me when I played Graal on my iPod touch

Lambda 03-13-2016 11:25 AM

This happened to me, but only after a few hours invested into playing with it.

When that happened I stopped playing, either that or I put on gloves (weird af) and continue using it...

Alexmo 03-13-2016 11:54 AM

I have a problem with my circle pad on my 3DS XL it just gets stuck and stiff and it won't rest to the neutral position and when I do that manually it gets stuff

Yes. I used my shirt, tissue, basically any type of clothe that can clean to wipe off the sweat, but it just comes back in a few minutes :(

Nope.

Figured you meant like a spray on rubber. Glue can usually be removed without damage though. Finger Nail Polish remover is tough as hell.

Not really sure what kind of options you expect without fooling with hardware. You could wear a glove I guess?

Wolfie 04-01-2016 11:05 PM

Hmmm idk. I'm trying to create a grip with a piece of clothe. I'm trying to figure ways to attach the piece of clothe without the use of glue, etc.

I've tried using gloves, but they don't really feel comfortable.

Ash Ketchum 04-01-2016 11:07 PM

Maybe make a cloth glove just for your thumb and use that instead of a full glove for your hand

Hmmm. I'll try that and see how it goes.

I acknowledge this, I live in Canada where it gets really cold and I have to wear gloves and stuff to keep me warm, it was made with spandex and leather, sorry for slow response..

My apologies, I didn't know you might not like wearing gloves as I have to during winter, I should be more selfless XD

USE VELCRO. ITS GRIPPY.

Mangsi 04-05-2016 02:07 PM

You know those dots that you put on the bottom of furniture to make it not scratch floors? Maybe you could put one of those on it.

Felt pads are only good for making tips for homemade nerf darts. A very cheap solution is to carve a 4x4 grid in your pad

Well, there's also protecting your hardwood flooring from scratches. But ya nerf darts man.
