I think the only cool one is the cobra and maybe the ruby turban thing. The others just look boring but that cobra tho... Mm

Every Gst I think "there's no way they can top last gsts hats and make them even worse this time," but, what do you guys do damn it? You top it and find a way to produce even more horrific hats than last time

Green and red iDevice hats are pretty good, helmet on Mixed side looks too similar to a US GST hat that Vlad has (I think?) for me to want it
The noob hat could be much improved by adding a scar to it.....

Feel bad for the Mixed competitors. Those hats are pretty ugly. Plus one of those mixed hats is nearly a remake(the blue helmet) the noob one has isn't different enough from the noob hat for me to personally want it, and the last one is ok.

Idev hats aren't bad at all, the cobra hat is actually really well-made and looks good from my perspective. The red crown is decent as well, and the other hat isn't too bad, maybe just a bit big.


Maybe you guys shouid make some smaller hats though? Because these hats are always very large.

I feel like they finally got the size right for hats this time(not that extremely huge hats are bad; some are actually nice). Other than that, I think the hats are just okay. They don't seem to give off any kind of 'gst' vibes since the concept for them are pretty much typical in any other hats made/sold in shops around town. Props to the gfx team for trying though.

Yeah I keep hearing how no one likes the oversized hats so I tried keeping mine small, but we still have to keep them unique which is kind of hard to do without a lot of working room.

They got the size right for sure but they didn't get the style right which imho is the most important part of a gst hat

I like the cobra but really not feeling the others. Don't intend on competing anyway though so my opinion isn't necessarily relevant.

shoulderpad, wing, helmet, spangenhelm, things that represents barbaric.
color = gold or black(talking about real dark) or pick a theme color each season

would be sick as hell if admins only draw the outline of hats.
the winner picks the template and customize the colors.

This is exactly what happened. Players where complaining that the hats were too generic so it was decided that we would try to make them as unique as possible, and now you guys want us to go back to the generic hats. If you think we are out of ideas now, imagine having us stick to a specific theme.

We have to make 6 hat each GST. There are 4 GSTs in a year. That's 24 unique hats. I don't think you guys would be happy with 24 different styles of helmets and wings.

You'll never be able to please everyone at once until you let people upload their own hats so it's probably not worth it to try
As long as the hats are well-made and original I really don't care what they are, some seem like poor efforts but that's just me

Like the swords hat Alumni Mixed won a long time ago, that's a good hat, it's not even amazing looking it's just original and shaded nicely and the theme relates to sparring, etc.

@Yog It just sucks knowing that if you earn a hat it just don't feel like you've won something amazing, instead you feel silly wearing a fruit basket or a cobra on your head.
It's hard making 24 different hats that aren't similar to older hats but its not hard to suit the theme of a tournament based around combat and teamwork.

true, but they are getting criticized every season. so they should try something different for once and see the reaction.

Yeha I agree, it doesn't need to be 100% sparring related, its just as long as the hats thought out and well executed to hint towards sparring.
Its especially nice when they have GST actually on them. No idea why but its kinda just warming to see a friend wearing the hat and reading gst every time they turn around.

There is no theme. Just unique.

Did you read what I posted? Classic used to do what everyone seems to be asking for in this thread, but they still complained so we changed.

I didn't hear any complaints early on in gst's to be honest.
I loved most gst hats up until maybe 12 months ago.

tf? helmets were the only ones that were made couple times and few of them were bulky.
wing-ish, that yami's hat - that one was good. i think rebellious liked it a lot.

Yeah as I thought. I feel out with playing graal before most of them got onto the team.
I'm not sure I am enjoying the style of some of the newer members, but that's just my personal opinion.(I mean since 2015)

I enjoy the less plastic looking shading.
Also the amount of making 1 hat and just doing a million recolours or slight edits... haha
I remember when youd have 1 hat with like 2 different colour versions max.
But I guess it allows for more outfit combos.

We liked it the best out of the 3, which doesn't say much because the other 2 hats were garbage. We wanted to slightly edit the wings to make them look more natural since CRZ got to edit their hat, but Xor seems to play favorites.

Its a shame, they do edit gst hats per request of winners more often now.

Like I think the snake hat should be recolored to some more cobra feel at least it would have a more vicious look to it like a darkish purple with gold or black. The crown isn't bad the third one I don't even know what it is and it's to big, Like the hats when they're big most people wouldn't spar with them so it's not even put to good use but that's my opinion. But apparently anything I have to say on this forum gets thrashed by a billion others.

And she said that she was willing to do simple edits, some more complex if need be for the GST hats

But the fur one with horns is UGLYYYYYYY

I like the concept of it but the horns are to long and i don't like the head cover design and shading.
