If you don't have this game yet, you must buy it. It's seriously really fun. I just got it earlier today and completely fell in love with it. The pixel graphics are absolutely prepossessing. Combat system is simple. Swipe this direction to this, other direction to do that, and so on. I just started it, so I don't know the stories yet. I read that this game can generate random dungeons so the replay value is over the roof. From everything I've seen so far, I say this game is definitely worth the $7 out my pocket. Buy this game on the App Store, Google Play Store, or Amazon Store. (It only cost $5 on Amazon Store and PC version coming soon)

AppStore: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wayw...857555369?mt=8

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ardsouls&hl=en

Amazon Store: http://www.amazon.com/Noodlecake-Stu.../dp/B00LNP9H0K

Here's the launch trailer.

Forgot to mention: SOUNDTRACKS ARE SOO GOOD

Also, there is a permanent death system in the game so be careful

BBY, YOU MADE A THREAD ABOUT THIS?

ILY SO GODDAMN MUCH, HOLY ****.

I've been able to make it to the Unknown dungeon with the Mage and Spellsword classes. Been working my ass off to get the other classes past the Catacombs dungeon.

Its hard as balls but really fun.

Still going through the mine lmao

I actually made a thread about this game waaaaaaaaaaaaay back when it came out but its cool that you made one.

My favorite class by far has to be the Spellsword since dash is too freakin useful to not have.

Wolfie 02-10-2016 12:58 AM

In a middle of a dungeon right now so can't really check, but what dungeon must you complete to procure him?

I believe you've got to beat the Tower in order to unlock him.

Thats 7 floors of pure torture but wait until you unlock the Catacombs.

The worse is yet to come.

Tips I can give you on how to beat these dungeons:

1: Learn how to use your class. For example learn the width of the attacks for melee classes and learn the mana consumption of the mage class.

2: Learn how different enemies fight. Each enemy has their unique fighting pattern which if you know beforehand you can prevent yourself from taking damage. Also, PRIORITIZE ENEMIES IN EACH ROOM. Take out the enemy which is of most threat to you, that'll make things way easier.

3: Dodge. Pretty self explanatory.

4: Don't be stingy about using your spells or buffs. If you're in a tight situation, USE THEM DON'T SAVE THEM.

5: Know the upgrades to the classes. And I'm not just talking about the buyable upgrades from the menu, I'm talking about Emberforge upgrades. Always aim to get gear that improves your survivability and crowd-control. Hell, its pretty much Warframe logic.

6: Hats. Find yourself a nice hat and make yourself feel like a badass.

Damn... this game seems to take hard to a supreme level

Bruh, the Unknown dungeon (Labyrinth) basically mixes all 3 dungeons together and makes them 1000x harder. Plus, it has its own boss at the end so GG, WP, and RIP.

Wolfie 02-10-2016 01:20 AM

damn. does this game have any health recovery item?? the only way I've been recovering myself is through passing through levels but that's only like 25% of it

5hift 02-10-2016 01:32 AM

Health potions do drop from crates but for whatever reason they're rare as hell and don't even give you much health in return.

It's much more reliable to take less damage and get to the end of a floor to regain health.

Wolfie 02-10-2016 01:34 AM

dudeee. I swear lol. Some of these rooms... the dynamite and hammer spams are real

5hift 02-10-2016 01:56 AM

There are ****ing enemies that look like... IDEK WTF they are but they teleport around and cast these death ray circles where you walk and they're just annoying as ****.

Some of these enemies are just straight up masochistic in design.

I need to put more time into this game but I haven't really been gaming on iOS. Btw Wolfie and 5hift, I saw this article about a few new updates coming to Wayward Souls. New Gauntlet mode which is extremely difficult, pet tweaks and the Paladin class coming with his own game mode. Paladin update should drop around the time the PC version releases.
Read about it here:
Wayward Souls Gauntlet Mode Update

Wolfie 02-10-2016 06:13 AM

hahaha, 5hift will go through 6 more levels of torture.

Paladin?? That's awesome. I have been wondering why Paladin is only playable through the intro but now we're getting him!! Now this game feels even more worth it because Paladin would be added as IAP pack 20 if this was another game

Wolfie 02-10-2016 10:10 PM

Finally got to the tower. It is painfully hard. I also unlocked asventurer!

5hift 02-10-2016 11:57 PM

Beat Tower first try with the Rogue class.

Yeah, I'm that good.

But in all seriousness, Tower is easymode compared to the Catacombs.

Have you gotten any hats yet?

Wolfie 02-11-2016 04:11 AM

I got some hood

I failed at leasr 40 times now lol with Warrior

Wolfie 02-11-2016 04:28 AM

Always, and I mean always, fail on the 4th floor ): those multi-direction magic spamming monsters are too much along with those backstabbing stealth monster x.x

Anyway this seems like a great game, but I'm really turned off by that permanent death factor. Is there any way to get around that?

Unfortunately, there isn't. The point of the game is to survive going through all the stages of the dungeon.

Wolfie 02-11-2016 04:21 PM

****! I finally made it to the 6th floor but thanks to those backstabbing zombies, I died x.x

5hift 02-11-2016 04:53 PM

What class are you using?

Wolfie 02-11-2016 06:14 PM

Warrior

5hift 02-11-2016 07:55 PM

Warrior is pretty easy to use with its massive swing-arc, good for keeping enemies at bay.

Those backstabbing rogues are pretty easy to combat once you learn their attack pattern which is pretty simple.

They run away from you, and somehow teleport behind you.

Just turn the other way once the run away and swing your weapon like a madman in that direction.

Nope, this is a rougelike game. Roguelikes are generally RPG games that offer permanet death if you die. Usually these type of games are difficult, turned-based, and have randomly-generated dungeons. Wayward Souls is exactly this but is an action-RPG instead of turned based.

I can't do that with 20 magic blasts coming at me

Those fireball-casting gargoyles have pretty obvious attack patterns, just keep your distance, dodge projectiles, and eliminate aggressive threats like those rogues.

Wolfie 02-11-2016 10:09 PM

Died at the ****ing boss. That story was so sad

Wolfie 02-12-2016 01:28 AM

OMG! I had only 1 health left!!! It was so close... But I won. Tower completed

dudeee, wtf are these vines thing

Thorned enemies I take it?

They're 1000x more annoying than the enemies in the Tower amirite.

I have yet to create an effective method in dealing with them for they are literally the most annoying enemies to fight.

They run off, jump at you and hit you with massive swing arcs. They appear out of nowhere and stab you. And they rapid fire magic blasts as well has leap on you with explosive impacts.

YES. These guys are so annoying. I'll see if I can find an effective combination to deal with them

the shield seems to be really effective

damn. the difficulty of Catacomb is ludicrous.

I managed to make it to floor 3 (or 4?)

HASSAN IS SO GOOD. HIS DASH IS AWESOME

5hift 02-12-2016 08:17 PM

Don't know why but definitely prefer Spellsword over Rogue and Cultist over Rogue.

Spellsword just seems easier to use and Cultist is straight up OP with backstabs, invisibility and blinding spells.

Wolfie 02-12-2016 10:41 PM

Spellsword completely changed my point of view on Tower. It's so easy now.

Rogue is the hardest class to use isn't she? I mean her hitbox doesn't seem to be that long.

5hift 02-13-2016 01:52 AM

Daggers have pathetic hit radius but make up for having insane DPS with backstabs and stuns.

Still think Rogue is too clunky to play, same with Warrior.

Wolfie 02-14-2016 03:00 AM

Bump.

Great game, buy it

Warrior sucks to me. It took me forever to go through the mine with him. Spellsword is probably my favorite class. Still haven't play Rogue that much yet so I'll see about her.
