Fears/phobias

I wanna learn that i'm not the only one with a bunch of fears...more specifically i want to know if any of you have the fear of having a fear.

Mine tend to be related with transport.
------
Flying/planes
Sailing/boats
Heights
The ocean (Specifically jellyfish and other weird things)
Slight fear of tight spaces
Slight fear of any sort of public transport
Being underground

Yeah i'm a massive pessimist, always thinking of dying and that, sadly.

GOAT 11-02-2015 07:39 PM

I start crying when you get close with a needle to me - so needle phobia.
And Haphephobia, developed that the past few years but was born with the needle phobia.

Fears/phobias

Many people say they have 'trypophobia' however, many do not. Just because you have seen it on google images, doesn't mean you have it if you were scared of it, why? The pictures coming up on google images, are HANDS with clustered holes on them, many people will say they have it after seeing it, but the chances are, they wont, most people feel scared or whatever after seeing it because it is abnormal to see it on the hand, i can bet most people would feel uneasy or 'fearful' after seeing it. However, if you think you do, i'd suggest looking at a picture of the lotus flower seeds. Trypophobia is the fear of clustered holes, and is infact not recognised by many doctors and so on as an actual fear. Sufferers will feel uneasy/anxious if they see the seeds of a lotus flower due to it being clustered. Of cause a hand with holes in it will make you uneasy, because frankly, that is almost unheard of.

Sorry for long post.

Doubt anyone will read.

Man i should've explained this easier...i hope you understand what i am trying to get at.

It's not just on hands tho. It's anything with a cluster of holes like that. Or for me, holes in general.

Fear of having surgery while being awake

Oh god tell me about it. When I had my wisdom teeth removed, I woke up while they were pulling one of them out. I was drugged up though so it wasn't that bad...but still freaked me out a little because I could hear and slightly feel the tooth coming out.

Areo 11-02-2015 10:56 PM

Fear of a man touching my bedroom window at night

Oh hey, we have the same phobias!

I really really care about keeping clean, to the point where you see me cleaning door handles and sink taps. It's a little excessive but it keeps me sane so that's all that matters.

Then you may well have it, but many people say they have trypophobia but they actually don't.

Nep 11-03-2015 07:45 AM

Like Vici, i have developed Haphephobia.
I put my hand under my shirt and open a door that way.

Skyzer 11-03-2015 08:19 AM

You guys have no idea how bad Haphephobia can be. I knew a lady when I was growing up who chose to be homeless and camp out in the woods because she was so afraid of people being near her.

Nep 11-03-2015 08:22 AM

I aint that bad, i just dislike touching doorknobs, seat belts, buttons, etc

Vic 11-03-2015 12:49 PM

Atelophobia I guess

Zara 11-03-2015 04:56 PM

Our lives cannot go on forever. Unless humans found a new planet. Earth will eventually be destroyed or humans will be the death of everything. Unless your one of those who believe in reincarnation. Not that i have anything against you if you did...believe what you want ofc.

Nonetheless if that does exist, man it would be scary, yet i still think it would be cool, living in the future, and seeing what happens. Wait, maybe i could've fought in some damn wars or something before...

Oh yeah of course the planet will be gone eventually - etc etc. I mean the idea of our spirit (or some afterlife in a land that won't be gone eventually) is petrifying. Imagine there being no end to life - it's just forever and ever and ever

It all depends on what that place is...personally for me that isn't petrifying.

It's true in that sense haha - if you're in heaven it wouldn't be so bad I suppose. It's just the thought of no-end to everything ever - it's just ongoing and it never stops

I do highly doubt that immortal lives exist. Everyone is mortal, we die and that is it. Now wether something happens after that has not been proven, so if i were you, i wouldn't be scared of something that would seems very much impossible.

Zara 11-03-2015 10:39 PM

So we basically we live our life (around 80 years, guess) then what?, die and that it just lie there (dead)? At this point I'm not to sure what to believe... I like to hope I do something or go somewhere-but it can't be proven.Or maybe,we come back as someone else but don't know your past history? I'm just curious on what does actually happen.

Foxmon 11-03-2015 11:36 PM

The fear of all fears is definitely pantophobia, sadly I don't suffer from it.
Luckily I'm not afraid of pants.

Man I think I'm the only person in the world that LOVES needles. Getting blood drawn is the most erotic thing ever for me when they take it in viles, just seeing it all slosh into the syringe is so captivating for me.

I don't think I have any actual fears as of now though, I used to be really scared of the ocean till I started diving, then I realized how empty the ocean is-- theres nothing there to be afraid of. And where there is stuff it is usually chill af, like honestly stuff that horrified me to think of before is really cool to me now; sharks for example are awesome. I used to have this picture of them as bloodthirsty predators, but all the ones I've swam with are chill af, friendly even. Let it be said that I've never swam with a shark that could gulp me down in one bite if it wanted, but I totally want to do a dive with a Great White or something gnarly like that now.

To be honest I think some of the most common fears are some of the coolest things, that people really just need to jump into and realize its awesome.

You've sealed your fate to die by either too much blood being drawn of by shark attack. You will be missed Simons!

Oh my god.. I know how you feel.. I get these deep thoughts and what ****s me up is that there's 2 posibilities.
1) You die and there's nothingness, no heaven, hell, life. nothing and that just goes on for ever. that ****s me up
2) That (if) there is a heaven, and suggesting you get into heaven, it goes on forever. Infinite I can't relatively imagine what an eternity in heaven is. wouldn't one get bored at one point? Heaven is the end, nothing after it and its eternal.... That also ****s me up.

I don't think that's a phobia but I definitely do not look forward to death.

This. This. This. Ever since I was little, I would think deeply of this. My mind would think "you would live forever and ever" and it creeps me tf out. I often have to shake my head if I have this thought just to change it.

Platinum 11-04-2015 11:35 AM

I have a fear of ****ing up in social situations and FOMO.
It's a tad difficult.

Colin 11-04-2015 11:56 AM

I can't be near open closets, I have two in my room and even having them closed makes me feel edgy.

It's the worse at night time, I'm not afraid of the dark or anything (I love horror movies and scaring myself) but with closets it's because I always get edgy thoughts about what's in the closet or beyond the closet (like in Narnia) it just becomes all I can think about and I don't like it. It probably makes sense to be less afraid/paranoid if it's open but for some reason it's just worse for me.

I guess it could be fear of the unknown or something.

P.S coming out of/being in the closet jokes aren't going to work because I can already see them coming, no sense in trying to pull one.
