Pro tip: Don't attach ice packs to the side of your face with duct tape like I did. It seemed like a good idea until they got warm and I wanted to switch them.

Do NOT gargle anything.

When I got one of my wisdom teeth removed I didn't get completely drugged down, just anesthesia in the mouth. The next few days I could barely open my mouth, so I mostly ate soup, which wasn't all that great..

Ice bags helps a lot, and remember to not use a straw when you drink. It could draw more blood out of your wound. If you're in a lot of pain during the night I suggest you try sleeping with your head higher up. Kind of like sleeping sitting up. This can help ease the pain.

5hift 09-24-2015 08:36 PM

This is terrifying.

Crono 09-24-2015 08:47 PM

Luckily my wisdom teeth aren't causing any trouble, I did get a few perm teeth pulled out in the past though...I didn't feel completely numb at all and felt the pressure of the teeth being removed. Sucked so hard.

MrSimons 09-24-2015 08:58 PM

Update: feeling in my mouth coming back... this is starting to hurt but atleast i can feel my face.

John 09-24-2015 09:15 PM

When I made my thread when I got my four pulled it they only hurt for 3 days after that you'll be fine.

Vic 09-24-2015 09:18 PM

I was hurting especially bad when I got mine out because apparently I had an additional wisdom tooth on top of the 4 they pulled up a little bit higher in my gums and they had to do some digging to get it. That was fun to hear.

Admiral 09-24-2015 09:32 PM

LOL pushups to prove she doesnt know **** about anaesthetics,

Nanner 09-24-2015 10:04 PM

I have to get mine removed too and am not looking forward for it :(

It's not that bad unless it is.

MrSimons 09-25-2015 12:06 AM

Update: Pain is entirely gone, left side of my mouth has a numb feeling, for the past hour it was on and off between bending over the sink spitting out blood in horrible pain and a soft throbbing pain, but is cool now. Eating a ton of mac and cheese.

Dusty 09-25-2015 12:32 AM

I got the pleasure of having my dentist(a woman) standing up and pushing down with the weight of her body trying to pry out one of my teeth. The cracking, and popping noises, and the pressure. *shudder*

Foxmon 09-25-2015 12:58 AM

My dentist had to drill away half of my jaw bone just to get the wisdom tooth out. The pressure, smell and sound was really bad, and I had one hamster cheek for a week while the bone slowly grew back.

Yikes I feel bad you had to be awake to see/hear/feel it happen

Sicx 09-25-2015 02:40 AM

Thank god for drugs for once

twilit 09-25-2015 03:16 AM

damn. Youre lucky to be able to eat mac and cheese on day 1. I think it took me 6hr just to get the bleeding to stop.

Areo 09-25-2015 03:36 AM

Hearing your guy's stories makes me feel like I was blessed. I never felt any pain at all, and was only on Tylenol and Motrin besides the initial procedure. I'm surprised some of you were awake for it, usually they put you out

Fulgore 09-25-2015 03:45 AM

I felt very little, dull pain after mine, I was pretty lucky. There was hardly any bleeding afterwards for me, just really annoying dull pains for about a week.

Skill 09-25-2015 05:39 AM

Man this thread scares me, I'll have to get my wisdom teeth pulled eventually most likely :( sounds horrible.

I actually just ate some leftovers from olive garden too, was able to swallow down a few chicken breast and breadsticks without using my molars. Only thing bothering me now is a swollen left cheek and the stitches. I think I just got my teeth pulled really late, all of them were about to erupt.

Just take the knock-out gas. You'll wake up loopy, but at least you won't be conscious while they take the teeth out.

nice

I remember getting my 4 wisdom teeth pulled out 2 years ago. They put me to sleep when I had it done to me. I had to keep cotton at the sides of my mouth around 2-3 days to control the bleeding. The food I usually ate for a larger portion of the week was butterscotch pudding. My stitches dissolved after about a week or so. As for the pain, Tylenol pretty much took care of that ordeal.

Coco 09-25-2015 01:50 PM

Ah I remember when I got my wisdom teeth pulled. I was high af. Apparently got in a skype call with some people from Graal and I don't remember it, but according to them I was indeed high af. Right directly after the surgery, the nurse gave me some grape juice and I got more of it on my shirt/face than i did in my mouth. I also never ate so much neapolitan ice cream (or any ice cream for that matter) in my entire life.

I also vaguely remember waking up in the middle of the surgery just long enough to see and hear the dentist tell me "We're pulling out your bottom left tooth now" then proceed to pull out my bottom left tooth. It was horrifying.

The drugs were awesome tho.

Wait until you are about three weeks in when everything starts to heal. Your gums will produce an awful-tasting liquid that will gloss over everything you eat. I swear it tasted like rotting flesh.

Usually nowadays you do get knocked out for any surgeries you have.
