They're both decent. I've never been an avid fan of either, but they're still good movies.

They both have so much lore in them that's its hard to choose, though I favor Star Trek more being alot more interesting than Star Wars. I can sit down and watch a entire season of DS9 and wake up the next day ready to watch another. Star Trek just gives you this I can't wait to see what happens next feeling. Also Geordi is the only person I can actually relate to since he loves technology and is an amazing chief engineer who has saved the enterprise countless times, but also has trouble with women, but overall he is just awesome.

Star Trek is good, I just never got into it like SW though.

Never had the slightest interest in Trek, Star Wars was a huge part of my childhood though, Episode II was actually the first movie my parents ever let me see in theaters.

I guess you can't be forced to like everything. Before you call something trash it's better to understand why it is trash to you in the first place. Is it because your brain can't comprehend the way Star Trek is and that you would rather see light sabers battles over and over instead of fascinating episodes filled with mysteries. Or maybe because you never seen an episode of Star Trek before and grew up on Star Wars like mostly everyone did. Lets face it, it's not for everyone, but even George Lucas himself has said that he took some inspiration for Star Trek (calls himself a trekkie) and put it into Star Wars. Just sit down and watch one season of the original show and maybe you will understand why people love Star Trek. Their should be no hate anyway though. Star Trek isn't all about action either so I can see why the average person finds it boring, but put simply they are very diplomatic and violence is always a last option.

Star Wars> Star Trek simply because Trek is whitebread. HOWEVER, Stargate SG-1 whoops the 2 of these like no other.

Star Wars vs Star Trek is a war waged by people who aren't even in the Sci-fi scene. A real sci-fi geek would say Battlestar Galactica.

Also, Stargate SG-1 was an incredible series.

That's not really fair. As someone who's seen all of the movies/shows in question, I still think the Star Trek series have the best overall premises, writing, and characters. Although Stargate SG-1 is also phenomenal.

Star Wars. It might not have a lot of official canon right now because EU isn't official anymore but it's currently in the best hands. I think Disney will do amazing things.

I started watching TOS of star trek a while ago, not that bad.. the only reason I stopped was because I didn't have enough time.. Honestly was pretty nice.

Umm....honestly we won't know if it's going to suck or not until it's released and Disney could indeed mess it up. Also, to be fair, the prequels aren't really that bad. Sure they're not as good as the originals, I mean most sequels & prequels normally aren't.
