I'm to young for a real job so I work at a little shop on the weekends, get paid under the counter. 20-40$ depending on the job.

Part time job as a children party entertainer. Ranges from $25 to 35 a gig. I'm usually dressed up as a mascot/character such as Hello Kitty, and dance around with the kids. However, sometimes I'll facepaint too.

It makes perfect sense. The minimum wage has many factors, including average housing cost, average cost of food, etc.

In my honest opinion, the national minimum wage should be raised to $15 to support the cost of living.

Raising minimum wage just raises the cost of living on all spectrums. If minimum wage were $15 dollars an hour, the cost of gas, food, housing would increase with it.

But still, this doesn't have any relevance to what I said beforehand. That it makes no sense to have different minimum wage rates in different states. Because if they were all the same, you better bet the cost of living would be near the same everywhere.

How the hell am I supposed to raise my 15 baby childs when my baby daddy's not payin fr child support and I'm workin at MCDonalds for 2 dolla and hour??!?!?!?!

Not necessarily. Think about this: if we increase the national minimum wage, people who were just making a living on $7 an hour now can enjoy more American luxuries when the wage goes up to $15. There would be more incentive to go out and purchase more goods, thus stimulating the economy.

I believe that in the long run, raising the minimum wage will benefit the nation. I am no economist, however, and feel free to refute my ideas; preferably via PM or Skype as I've led us off-topic.

I've done some summer web design volunteer work, and small odd jobs, but I wouldn't consider those actual jobs. I'm excited for my first foray into the work force. And yes, I will try and apply to more places if I do not get my Chick-fil-A job.

Minimum wage is $7.75/hr in Alaska. To put the cost of living up here in perspective, a gallon of milk costs $6.99.

OT: I am a butcher/ meat cutter and make $12/hr (and every 6 months I get a $1 raise).
