Bigger Playercount

I think that their should only be one app for Graal in general, this means having one app with a server list. My reasons are that all the views would be put into one app instead of different server apps and being split agian by + or free. This would cause it to be put into top apps and forsure more people who check it out. Graal would get many new players, because I am sure that very few people who never heard of Graal are gonna find it by looking through app list. For example if you added classic, classic+, era, and era+ into one app includeing any future iservers it would combine all those views and surely more people would see it. Put Graal out there, don't expect people to magically find it.

It's a decent idea, But I think it's a bit late for them to make this change now.

Thunderstorm 12-28-2011 10:06 PM

DMG idea=Less money purchased on individual apps=NO
I personally don't mind the idea but Stefan right now has probably spat out his breakfast while reading your post

I don't understand what you are trying to say.

Bad idea!

Would most likely be disapproved despite the fact it would be useful.
Because two apps=double the money
1 app=yawn
money wise^
you have to pay like 3$ for each

Graal needs a bigger player count not more money

Yeah well tell Stefan that.
Making enough space on an itouch would only cost them more...

DMG 12-29-2011 08:45 PM

You can keep making excuses why they can't do it, but it is about the playercount. Even if they want money, in the long run spending more money in the beginning to get more more players brings in more money than not spending money and having a small player count.

This would maybe add like... 3 people to the playercount.
Most people know how to search "GraalOnline" on the appstore..

Yet 90% never even heard of Graal, do you expect them to be born with the knowledge of finding Graal?

so you're saying making a single app would suddenly make people aware of the fact graal exists?
How would it do that exactly?

Putting the one single app in the "top apps" section.

Anyway, they could do this and maybe have in-app purchases for new servers?

DMG 12-30-2011 12:44 AM

Just about everyone who uses the appstore checks top apps, top rated, or featured for the week. This would certainly make sure more people see Graal. For example I went on featured apps of the week and randomely clicked on a top app, i read about it, then downloaded it and tried it out. This works alot better than just hoping people who never even heard about Graal somehow search "Graal Online" and find it.

How? I already found a solution for this. They just make in-app purchases for each new server. They will make the same amount of money and it will have more publicity.

Thank you someone understands the benefits.

More apps means more exposure for Graal, they're not going to condense servers all into one app because that will lessen the chance of people finding it.

Not really...
2 is always easier to find then 1.

Yephenpeace 12-30-2011 07:15 PM

No guys... If it was one app then people from each server would be downloading the same app, which would put it higher in the "top apps" section.

Yet agian thank you yephen for understanding the benefits, and 2 is not easier to find when they are both impossible to find.

Street 12-31-2011 01:05 AM

I've also wondered why they separated the servers out...whereas the PC is all in one client.

Benefit of one app, yes true, more player count due to more exposure (think combining classic and era). Also, adding new servers would probably be easier, rather than getting a new app approved for Zone, they could basically just update the app to add the Zone server on the list etc.

The only downside I see is that, one bad server would yield bad reviews for all servers, since they all share the same app. Maybe a chaotic tech support... bugs/glitches/updates would shared across servers.

Froggy Krueger 12-31-2011 01:06 AM

A rather brilliant tactic to climbing the top app list was implemented a while back by a game called "only one life" or something like that. Bsically, you had to delete and reinstall the app to play again. If, for a brief period, players got say 100 grenades or 250 gralats or something every time the app was installed, graal would theoretically climb the top list quite quickly, provided this still works. Oh, and duke, unfortunately purchasing in app stuff doesn't make the app more well known.

DMG 12-31-2011 01:46 AM

When there is updates, lets say a new server being added to app, then it will pop up in most recent and people check that section all the time for new apps.

Oh, I see. As long as the update requires people to update from the app store, then I'm on board with your whole spheal. I thought you meant just a regular Graal update, where you just log in and it's there.

DMG 12-31-2011 05:09 AM

Ya I should have specified a bit more.
