The history of Graal
 

I am currently working on something big and exciting, and I could use some help. It has to do with the history of Graal (so basically PC days).

1. What was Snowtown originally called?
2. Was Babord a person?
3. Could someone post the most updated map of PC Graal?
4. Who were 'Masters of Deception?
5. Any significant 'leaders' or 'rulers' of Graal?
6. Any other lore or history of Graal you can find.

^Latest map but I can't really remember much of the old map but when I spoke to Thor a few weeks ago he still has all the levels and stuff and if you need any answers he's the man to ask.

Rufus and Thor are probably the best guys to speak to or maybe Kosma. Thor still has all the levels and stuff from the past versions of Classic. Rufus has good memory with these sort of things I can't remember anything except we had a really really small map compared to iClassic.

P.S. Add UK guild house if you gonna do some sort of addition of places with Classics old history. Best GH 2k15.

It's not as easy as that because Thor basically removed half the map and is redoing it so stuff from the past that he wants to find out won't be there. If by Q6 what he was referring to was the backstory of Classic I think the tutorial explains it briefly.

It has been called Snowtown since the beginning. Though there was a period of time where it was called something else.

You'll have to realize that Classic has been under the management of many different people, each who had their own ideas and visions for the server. This means that the overworld has been redesigned many times over. It's not uncommon to find different maps of Classic with completely different layouts.

Man I miss the old swamptown with all the waters, I bet theyd be full of players if they were back. Back then no one used the places.

I played back in 05-06 but dusty is right that server has been managed by alot of people,It'll be hard to find all those maps.

Snow Town, then Sylphia, now Snow Town. Possibly went back and forth more often than that.

First Graal guild. Spider's website (a former Graalian) has an archived version of their site.

Fictionally: King Tristam, Master Li, and Larry. Nonfictionally: Ragnarok made Avalon. Antago made Destiny. Destiny was later destroyed by Tyhm (err.. I mean the Lizardons). I think Zol may have made the original Snow Town. The present overworld mountains were by me, but I never made an NPC of myself to point that out to everyone or had a commemorative NPC made of me.

Need to add Galen, but I don't know what specifically he contributed.

I don't know about the other towns' creators. There was one player that had contributed a lot in the earlier years of Graal, got banned, and then sued to have his stuff taken down.

Master of Deception were created by W0rm, Raven, Lark and Magus? originally. They were fighting against the first villains to take over graal King Jim / Queen Huntress and the death squad. I think this is the only big event that took place before I played.

The map was from zelda a link to the past and MoD House was either where kakariko village should be or in the lost woods.

I believe that king and queen were the first rulers of graal. I was the 2nd as Baddies destroyed MoD and Knights of Hyrule and didn't have any opposition. We had a Baddy Fort where Graal Castle was. Pachuka took it down and made the first version of Graal Castle with my NPC as king. Some jerk later remade Graal Castle to look better, but made a King Tristam NPC which I'm not sure was ever even a player.

Loki was my friend I met on my first day of Graal who later started MoD again after the original leaders quit. I'm not sure why the leaders were fighting, maybe partially because one of them let me into their new secret base.

There were a ton of personal houses and guild houses on graal made by real people for themselves that were taken out when Tyhm and other LATs came.

I don't recall anything being taken down after Tyhm except due to lack of resources with the NPC Server being released and not enough developers to convert all the levels to be compatible. My thought is that the essence of the problem late during Tyhm's time, and followed by Com013, was that volunteers and prospective volunteers wanted to create something of their own to share rather than rebuilding what others had built before them.

Master Storm faced the awkward situation in which he told me that he had to remove most of the server's content when the switch to the NPC server was made. Shortly after (or maybe it was simultaneously?) the full switch to GScript2 had to be made. He said he pulled an all-nighter creating a movement system and serverside hit-detection system.

There was a time when anyone could get their houses into the game if they submitted them.

Before that there was a time (very briefly) when anyone could edit levels while playing. Though only you could see the edits unless you sent the level file to others.
