Background Theme Shop Released
 

Howdy!
You can now choose different background themes for Ol' West menus. More themes are on the way, as well as HP Bar themes and button themes :) Access the Theme Shop by going to "Menu" and then "Themes". Once you choose a theme, hit "back" on any menu that you have open and it will automatically apply.

Sweet. :) Would be awesome if we can have custom themes. Would just need the canvas size and players could make doodles on it or something! Doesnt even have to be a detailed drawing.

I'd really like if I could get that plain background most of the staff have and use my own hex color code for it :I

It's just a 1x180 image editted, then it stretches itself out.

So far my favourite is the Desert one :)

It clashes, hurts my eyes. Maybe instead of changing a bitmap you can actually fix all the things that have broken on olwest. I think the crafting system has been broken for a few weeks, the butterfly system stops spawning, the re-write is terrible code. Took a few hours to find any bugs, but your adding new bitmaps? Superb update.

Hey MD. Thanks for the feedback. Nobody else has had a problem with the updates other than you and your staff team. The bug system works fine, I completely re-coded it and it's now flawless! Crafting system I plan to update very soon as well, though the fix will probably take a little bit of time.

Little updates always matter :)

For special occasions, (for example christmas) we could have a theme related to the occasion (when christmas we could have like a snowy thene) and it would cost about 3k and would only be there for a limited time

There are more than only one background and a lot more to come I pretty much believe so that should not matter a lot.
But yea. Fixing bugs and big parts of the game is important, but little updates are nice and enjoyable aswell, they shouldn't be left out (especially if they don't take a lot of time to be done).

Staff team? It was just me that reported this, it has nothing else to do with the delteria staff team lets not put the blame on innocent people. I'll take a video next time i log on olwest. Bugs stop spawning completely, instead of denying the problem get it fixed. Crafting System was an amazing concept to bad it was terrible thrown together.

Several of your staff have said bad things about Ol' West. I even have screenshots of your Staff Skype Chat with it. And yes, when the server restarts it messes up the bugs. But I added a safety measure that clears the map and resets it and places the bugs again whenever the server restarts, so that shouldn't happen again :) Also, the Crafting System wasn't terribly thrown together at all. It's one of the most complex systems on Graal and is 2155 lines of code. The only problem is with buying recipes and matching it with the formula provided. I'm just going to remove the need to buy a recipe so you can just craft the item if you have the supplies. Everyone is then happy! :)

Should we get a new scroll bar graphic? Or just remove the bar completely

Skype chat is irrelevant to this topic, stop pointing fingers at everything else. What happens on Delteria Staff chat is peoples own personal opinions, Clown can show you whatever he wants. Every time the server restarts woah? Then the npc server must crash a lot (Bad scripting?). Delterias NPC Server has been up for 6 months now without the need of a restart. Maybe that's another issue you need to fix, Get things fixed.

The NPC Server restarting is actually out of my control, it has nothing to do with bad scripting. It's an issue with the backup system which is on the actual computer that Ol' West is hosted on. Not sure why you have to be in "attack mode" towards Ol' West. We're all a team here on Graal.

I dont understand why you are being so rude, true Ol'west has many things to improve on, but its still a new server. Stop picking on people who work so hard for their server, trying to improve it day by day. Whoever you are, your reputation in this community will be worsened tremendously if you continue to be so rude. If you think things can be improved in the server, well suggest what needs improving, but as far as I'm concerned, Ol'west will eventually become an amazing server compared to what it is now, and in my opinion, and on behalf of most of the players that play Ol'west, I can truly say that it is without doubt an amazing game already and we are extremely greatful for the work our Staff do for us day by day, to make the game as fun as possible for us.

Well obviously your blind... Bugs spawn on opened area don't tend to spawn in safe zones(oasis etc.) Also crafting was nice and all but it wasn't ready because it was an inconvenience to craft anything so they are now are working on it to improve it like a good staff team should...Don't BELIVE me ask the players bugs are perfect... Also reason why everyone loves ol west is because they listen to there players and do what the majority wants unlike a server I have in mind. So right now the majority of the population(10x the size of a server I have in mind) really likes what is being done and how it is so if you would please leave the door is open(that x in the top right of your screen you know the red one) and maybe try to put a little spark into a server I have in mind... Good day To You Sir!

Not being rude, pointing out things that have been broking for awhile. The server that ol'west is being hosted on is the same as other IOS servers. And those NPC Servers do not crash often, its usually a latency issue. Instead of getting defensive, get it fixed. Nothing I said was bashing ol'west, I was just pointing out the broken system that has been broken for weeks.

Ol' West has a backup system different than other servers which causes the server to lag often. I'm working with Unixmad to make the backup system better.

He's just the manager of a 50 population Graal game that's been around before OL west and is bearly breathing so he's just jelly just ignore him lol...

Your quite right, the way he was acting definitely did not give me the impression that he was a manager of a Graalonline server. They should be respectable and helpful, so that they can be respected back, like many of the Staff members I know (Alpho). Oh and also honestly the impression I have of Delteria etc isn't a very good one, and it makes me think if there are any other people like him working for the server... If so, the publicity that is being given off to people from the way this person behaves will and has show on the server itself. Oh and another thing, if he isn't respectable towards our server(s) why should we be respestable towards his?!

I've tested all of them personally and I think it looks fine :o Maybe we could allow players to change the text color throughout the game in the menus as well, so that everything could be legible or however the player wants it to look?

Also, with this "Theme" concept in-mind, how about theming your profile completely and getting rid of status-customization with html? So, you'd choose a background color with a menu and scroll through options or type in an image yourself to be used. And then you can choose text color of your profile / status as well. Additionally, you'd be able to type in text and choose the font too. Ideas on this?

Yea we should definetely get rid of the html thingy in your status to change the background. I find it really annoying and i always end up forgetting how to do it XD. Instead of only colours being chosen for backgrounds, we could have like patterns on it and stuff like some already have now

Maybe Delteria doesnt need to be restarted because its average player count is 15?

What will happen to exclusive/holiday recipes such as the Indian axe recipe and Throwing cookies recipe?

Also, I'm pretty sure that MD is no longer officially part of the Delteria staff, but he still helps the server.

Also, on unrelated note. Ol' West been crashing more oftenly than before. Me and my gangmates has been experiencing severe server lag and causes the guns and melees not to work. We had to reconnect to go back, but sometimes, its stuck only to the loading screen.

I've been experiencing similar things were my game lags and freezes then I have to reconnect(not my connection i tested it has to be the server)

It would be better if you can see what other players chose for their background theme. This would give holiday themes more of a purpose.

Dude don't let old man dragon turn this section into the delteria section. The Ol west section is currently the most active and productive section on the forums, so I would advise you not to turn people away by getting into petty arguments with old man #2. I know it's hard to keep quiet when your abilities/character is questioned, but arguing against his spiteful comments is not going to help you in any way. I guarantee you that if you ignore him he will eventually go away. Besides, 95% of the community already thinks he's an under skilled douche, so you don't have to waste time trying to convince them.

What's the best way to implement that? A new editor which lets you edit your status information etc? Or just make the html codes public? I like the GUI-Approach, what about you?
