New rule added for uploads

I knew they didn't allow heads flashing colors quickly but now they dont allow it to change color?

I had this head for 3 years now and didn't have this issue ever. I remember the only real issue was some staff didn't know the metal jaw is allowed since it isn't fully covering the head.

Last night this head was removed and I was refunded but I resent it since I thought it was an error. So now this is a new thing?
I asked a staff member about their thought on why removed my head and they just said that it wasn't flashing quick and I haven't spoken to them for this new rule. :( sad tho my head is no longer allowed and I loved it so much.

thats annoying

lmao admins these days are payn attention to little details like flashing colors when someone accepted a full pikachu body xD

Livid 11-28-2014 02:47 AM

lol the ironic part is that the head you lost slowly changes color and couldn't harm anyone in anyway. Did you check if it was just one admin? It could be a new admin just being new.

lol and mine with my rainbows flashing eyes hasnt wth

MrSimons 11-28-2014 03:56 AM

I think its a good rule, color changing heads are hideous.

What if it's like one that changes colors when you grab the wall? Dose heads ugly?

Okay, I get the quick changing heads, but one like yours? makes no sence >_<

Sardon 11-28-2014 04:08 AM

pssshh my head was simple. It changed by a slide effect had to make it a few frames since they said it went too fast. so it does Half and half slide when it blinked.

I have epilepsy and support this rule

Tyler 11-28-2014 06:26 AM

I remember I had this one body for over 6 months and then they added a new rule and it was removed. I felt like I was uploading my customs to rent since they kept getting removed/declined.

Ryan 11-28-2014 11:11 AM

They hired new FP's or 'Fashion Police'

Narcosis 11-30-2014 02:00 AM

Admins are cracking down, buddy. That'll teach you for being creative and uploading something that 3 years down the line would be deemed unacceptable for very unclear reasons! You have some nerve. How dare you play the game the way it was meant to be played and get any sort of enjoyment out of it!

Sicx 11-30-2014 02:04 AM

it gives people epilepsy

Yup. Had the same thing happen with my robot body... It had little tank treads that 'rolled' when I walked along in the sprite. I had to edit it 5 times to get them to accept it. Then, about 3 months after it was accepted, they cited 'copyright issues' on the body I had hand drawn myself, and deleted it on christmas day (Maybe this should go in the christmas memories thread XD ). I resubmitted and it was accepted, then they deleted it about 4-5 months later again, claiming that they no longer allowed feet that 'didn't move.'

At least it was right before Japan Nexus... so I got full refund in time to buy some snazzy lanterns and stuff. BUT, the point is...

They should decide on submission rules, give ample notice if they are to change them, and make all them noob FP's (yeah this title works) go through upload bootcamp so they at least have some understanding as to what the hell is up with gummy bodies downloaded from Graal Depot vs. people's own hard work.

It's kinda unfair in santa's case, his moved slowly, this would not cause a seizure.

My question is whats the limit of gif frames now?

Because I remember my friend is making a head with 50 frames but when she upload it the admins denied it because it has to many, so she reduced it to 30 and then they accept it :T

I'm saying this because I wanna gif a head (not for me), but I wanna know the answers first cuz the gif I'll be making has around 150 frames (probably) and luckily I haven't started yet.

Its annoying that classic is doing some changes but I guess we just to deal with it

Btw please remove the snowman body look since the mermaid, robot, etc bodies can no longer upload cuz of "no legs" whatever the excuses is. (and yes it sounds evil and can ruin Christmas which I don't care) :P

In my opinion frame count should not be a factor in whether a graphic gets approved or not. High frames usually corresponded to large file-size, but I have since added it so staff can actually see the file size of uploads now.

Not to mention the "frame count" is meaningless for things like a head blinking. It may show 80 frames, but 70 of them are the idle face graphic... and GIFs only stores the differences in data, meaning those 70 idle frames contribute nothing to the filesize. If anything the frame ticker should only notify staff that they need to keep watching.

I will talk to Xor about removing that disapproval reason.

Preach it!! XD

Nep 12-01-2014 10:22 PM

Having twin brothers that are epileptic, Santa's head would do nothing to epileptic people. Fast flashing things is what may cause a seizure, not a slow moving colour change, and the colours weren't complimentary colours anyway. And it was a significant head.

Turns out there is no disapproval for frame count. Disapprovals should be more accurate now with actual filesize being shown to staff rather than relying on frame count.
