Christmas Gift Submission 2014
 

Christmas approaches, and if you don't know yet, every year we invite everyone to submit content for our upcoming Christmas present event.

As usual, we have four categories:
-Tough
-Smart
-Cute
-Cool
All content (mainly hats) will need to loosely tie-in with these categories.

Players who submit hats that are accepted and used will receive a choice of their hat or 10,000g -- useful for buying gifts!

If you are interested in participating, upload the image of your hat to a website (such as http://imgur.com) and send it to me in a private message here on the forums OR e-mail it to [email protected] with the subject titled 'Christmas Submission'.

Important: Make sure that you provide your Graal ID (this can be found on the feedback menu in-game) and your preference for how you wish to be rewarded. The deadline for all submissions is December 24th.

Note: You are not required to use the color palette. You may use these if you wish for the colors of your hat to match the VIP colors of bodies. If you do choose to use the palette, use the colors as a base then shade from there. (You are not limited to using only the colors provided).

Oh, finding inspiration is hard. Can the hats be Christmas related? I am not sure what category a holiday hat would fit into.

I wouldn't suggest christmas-themed hats. Should try and make them fit in one the four categories. You wouldn't want to get a reindeer-skinned RC helicopter with a santa hat and jingle bells for christmas, would you? :P

Oh, and that Christmas themed helicopter sounds pretty sweet.

Keep it simple if you submit furniture. Nothing intractable... things like tables, chairs, fences and such.

Are mounts accepted as well?

Also for the gifts in general this year I think we should put less furniture items and remove gralats, because I don't think everyone likes getting 105 gralats for a gift that cost 1000 or a furniture that you sell 3 second later. I know that last year obtaining gralats meant that you already had what ever was in the gift. So maybe this year you could randomize them so that if the player already has the item he doesn't get gralats.
And also maybe you could put many furniture in one class so that people who want furniture buy that kind of gift.

Well, I got 17k from gralats in gifts last year, so it's not that bad. And it's up to you if you want to sell your furniture, I personally don't since it might be an exclusive item or a piece of furniture that was sold a few years ago.

i love the gift system needs a minor changes though

1. remove the gifting limit, if ur friend has tons of gralats and wants to gift you 20 gifts let them , why should their be a limit on ones generosity?

2. cool cute and smart is cool and stuff but maybe devide it into furniture, items,hats and random

So people wont be disapointed with what they got and anyway it only happens once a year

Coco chooses if she wants the hat or not. If she likes it and thinks it will fit in game, she will choose it.

What happens if I submit a mask one with red eyes and the other one with green eyes.

No... this would make it extremely easy for gift4gifters... besides, when was the last time you gave more than 5 gifts to someone irl?

How should we handle recolors?

I have about half a dozen hats that I want to submit, and some of them could be easily recolored and look as good as the originals. Would it be advisable to recolor and submit multiple versions, or just forget about it?

Are GIF hats accepted?

Last Christmas one of my hats got uploaded, I could however not put the file on furniture so the picture of the hat with my signature would show. Please fix this.

Someone use the ghost template to make some elfs. I would do them myself but I'm not a artist.

Would you like us to try to use the colors from the color palette on imgur as base colors for our hats and items? Or can we use different colors as long as it is neat and fits the category.

The palette is for character customization purposes(ie so you can set your body color to match a hat). Simple pick a color from the palette as a base, then you can tweak that for your shadows/highlights. As long as the majority/base color matches the palette it's good. Though I don't think you have to do that, it's merely choice.

So would submitting hats with different color count as a chance for the prize. So I can recolor a hat to like 10 colors to have a higher percentage chance of getting a prize?

Also, do we choose what category the hats we make goes to or we just start making a bunch and hope for the best? And just to make it clear, we can submit as many hats or furniture as we want?

I think letting someone know on the 24th is quite late. You could reply earlier with what is wrong with the hat so edits can be made and the hat can be resubmitted.

There are a lot of submissions, it's not really possible to sit and reply to every single submission, yet alone give them critique/help them fix issues.

Why would you think that?

Is it better to email them or send them to you on the forums?
