Never expected VIS to win but they surely sparred a great match against Alumni. Bravo to them and all the others.

By the way, I am disappointed. I couldn't record both finals at the same time. Idevice hosts hosted the GST really quick and mixed hosts were slow. =(

We lost 2nd by .5 haha (Honey) we were a last minute team actually for the most part, pretty happy with the outcome :)

Surprised about the early losses of WAR, SNC and UoE.

We beat UoE

GGs, Mixed was weird, had an issue with 1 of our best sparrers on the iDevice said but s'all good, was smooth and I'm glad that admins finally exercised the rules against laggers in a way that is fair and smart

Alumni had a hell of a run, but in the end on the iDevice side they just lacked the skill to seal the deal. However, the mixed reign continues. Truth be told, I'm an Alumni fan! Some people may point out I got eliminated in the 2nd round, but I also put maybe half an hour of practice instead of hours and hours, it was a last minute thing for me I did for gags and giggles....

Alumni as a guild did have a heck of a 2014 though, but that being said....its a browser game that means nothing and nobody I know outside of Graal knows how good I am on it because they'd probably shut me out of their lives if I ever talked about this.

Vindictive probably wouldve beat Rebellious, but they made the mistake of swapping out Cookie for a sub. So we made it to 4th place again.

about bans though, it seemed like more openly-banned players than ever were able to participate in this GST
examples are Lethal and Noss, both who were banned on their main accounts before the GST but were able to participate on secondary accounts (and actually managed to win) - there are others, just an example

before our iDevice finals, that came up as a discussion in guild chat and I told them that I'd be annoyed if any of our members were to report them and get a "free win" through a DQ, so that didn't happen

I don't know exactly what resources admins have to determine who is evading ban - obviously someone can change their IP, but I'd assume there is some device ID or something else that should be able to determine that stuff (assuming they're using the same device)
it'd also make sense for accounts under a certain threshold of hours to not be able to enter the GST (for obvious reasons)

bugs me just a little bit because if a guild like Alumni were to report this then we'd be shamed for abiding by the rules, yet if we broke this rule then you know we'd immediately be punished for it
imagine if someone like Sarah were to evade a ban on an alternate account - 500 people would have admins on her before the first round even starts

there's a huge fuss about the lag rule every GST, but this one is just as important and it kind of sucks that it relies on player intervention
maybe it can be improved upon in future GSTs

We sparred a team who had two people performing ban evasion, the admin hosting said they couldn't do anything about it and to report them after GST. I mean, they could of easily just switched them out with subs but we beat them nonetheless. Still a fun match at the end.

I mean, the act of evading a ban to participate doesn't bother me, it's just the fact that if my team tried to do that then I know we'd 100% get DQ'd because there are a lot of people who dislike us and the general community doesn't like seeing the same team win
it kind of goes from being an enforced rule to a popularity thing and that's a little annoying, but whatever

on another note, every single hat released today at York is better than every single damn one of the Mixed GST hats

You're hated because more than half your team consist of delayers, and you get away with it?

otherwise Memento would have been treated that way (full Japanese team)
otherwise The R0ller would have been treated that way (full Japanese team)
otherwise vDragz would have been treated that way (full Australian team)
otherwise 5pa4 would have been treated that way (mostly players in the Middle East)
otherwise Vindictive would have been treated that way
and so on, and so on, etc.

not to mention, if any of them do lag they always get DQ'd for it, so I don't even know what you're going on about here… pretending it's an advantage to freeze and get hit for free or be warped out of the arena is kind of dumb
you can post your argument but it will be probably add nothing new to the discussion - it was a post about enforcing a rule

Yeah, although I kind of enjoy having this big rock hat, it's definitely different than a majority of the other hats on Graal.

delay has been around for so long, people just make a big deal out of it now because the "delayers" are winning more than they are losing

I have to agree with thallen. I don't really like their guild but this is something that needs to be addressed. The whole purpose of banning players is so that they serve their punishement. What's the point of getting banned if you can still participate in graal's highly anticipated event? There is a purpose to banning people and that's so they learn from their errors, not to reward them with a hat, belt, or a statue. As much as I dislike alumni and am very pleased that VIS won, its a little silly that banned players can run away with this as opposed to a hated team, because I for one would do the same exact thing..

Everything is starting to make sense now. Can't believe it took me so long to figure it out. As you can see people were not lying when they said bans increased days prior to the GST.

that was the best Mixed hat in terms of quality IMO, I wanted it but the majority voted for the mask we got

I'm sure me bringing this up makes it come across as if I'm salty that my team lost, but it's really not that at all, it's more that I know my iDevice team could never get away with this so I kind of feel bad for them

Abood and Jack have been banned for the last 2 GSTs so we didn't use them, and I'd kind of expect to immediately be DQ'd if we ever did, so when I see other strong teams using banned players it kind of sucks

As far as the BAN concern goes,I dnt think therz any stopping to someone whoz main was banned and they started GST-ing on their Noobies.You just have to get THAT better so you could easily beat the heck out of those peeps.Not even Admins can do anyhing bout it.

no intent to start a 500000 page debate here (which usually happens with every single post i make and will probably start again just because of this one), but are you kidding?

why people hate sarah:
- bad attitude
1. sore loser (says "LMAO" literally every time she loses a spar)
2. talks trash
- lags excessively
1. gets taken out in basically half of the GSTs she has ever entered
2. openly admits to using cellular data to spar
- spars in a way that most players view to be insanely annoying
1. runs around on the walls with no offensive movements at all
2. the above point combined with the excessive lagging makes her basically unhittable unless you are exchanging a hit for a hit.
- bad history with player killing
1. everyone hated sarah before she even started sparring because she spammed arrows for all of her kills at towers
- and of course, the guilds she has been a part of
1. all of her tower guilds froze up and lag blocked pathways to the flags in towers, and then reported other people for doing it and got them banned instead.
2. alumni/everyone (ultimate lag squadron of players who spar the same way as her. this combined with having an annoying manipulative leader who refuses to accept the idea that he is wrong is enough to make most people dislike the guild members.)

i find this to be very entertaining and hope you do too.

I don't dislike the girl, but those are good points. I just want to say that I was rooting for them when they were with "everyone"

As I mentioned in the past GST threads, Alumni mixed seems undefeatable and won't lose for awhile unless something happens. Congratulation.
For VIS, I am really glad that they won, and Fro finally did it with his friends. :P

too lazy to pick out quotes from page 2, but before the thread is over with I should probably make it clear that I wasn't crying out and saying, "PLEASE LIKE MY IDEVICE TEAM!!!" because none of them care about that - was only saying that teams should be treated fairly in respect to the rules, no matter what people think of them

glad to see that someone like Yurhomi could see what I meant without having to spell it out

conclusion is that this was one of the most well-hosted GSTs I've been a part of

You're right, I made a pretty stupid move during the match and I already made clear with my team that I was regretful of it -- trolling me is not going to work :)

It was my first GST and the team wasn't angry over it because we were still surprised to reach 3rd so really if all it was a good learning experience more than it was a stupid mistake.

A good sport in making a mistake/not winning???
