Release Date Revealed!
 

Hey everyone, I was just talking to Unixmad and asked him about the date the server was being released, well, here is what he said...'Probably in November', so now we have a rough date to when Ol' West should be released. Sorry if this has already been said, thought I would share it regardless.

Funny, because last time I spoke to him we discussed that there would be no announcing the release date. Actually, to clarify, there is no release date right now.

Another thing is that I highly have my doubt that Unix would tell a random asker about the release date. Especially on how strict we are on it.

Highly doubt it. Remember all those rough release dates for Zone and Delteria?

He was the real Unixmad though. It even said 'Last played Ol' West'...

His estimated release dates can't even be trusted when he doesn't use words like "probably".

Hmm, interesting. If this is true then I'm missing out on something. There might have been an update with his decision, for I would not know since I do not have my computer to log on Client right now. (Shipped PC.)

I want to hope that bread-hogging Frenchy is right but I know I shouldn't hold my breath. I shouldn't even hold my breath for this server whatsoever. I hope to god ol west isn't going to be pay2win...

Couldn't agree with this more. He prob meant December..of next year. I mean would they really release this server with little information and no screenshots??

Actually, yes, we actually would. Just because we don't release information doesn't mean we're slacking on development. It gives it more of a surprise feeling.

It also gives you a lack of followers. Im sure you guys will get players because most era staff is also working on ol'west but the information creates hype and a following. I would say you guys have as much as a following as delteria

There are "lack of followers (?)," on every server. (Guessing you mean people with less interest.) Second, the primary staff that work on Ol' West do not work on any other server. Notice I said primary, for this means there are active helpers as well. Third, maybe we will have a following as Delteria or perhaps not. You can't really compare the two since Delteria wasn't released for iOS yet (majority population on iOS whilst small amount on PC.) Not every server aims for a high population count on release.

• Players wanting to go back to their main server.
• Losing interest.
• No interest at all.

Different themed servers reach out to other players who are looking for a particular server that interests them. I'm not saying Ol' West will be the best server; in my eyes it wont, but it will be different and fun. We are very strict on giving information about the server; this is why much hasn't been brought up. However, for the sake of others, I will ask for permission to share some thoughts of mine about the server in which may give some information on it. I will update this post when I have done so.

Just release the first version for free and make prices low like Zone and we are gawd.

By lack of followers i meant the activity of the server and how they relay to the general public and appeal to them, I guess you could argue against it if you really wanted to. The majority of your staff do not but players such as HomelessWitch who has a rather large fan base can easily sway the player count if there were to be advertising. I'm comparing the following again, not the player count so i technically can measure it... I mean not alot of people know about ol'west and i guess i can say the same for delteria, I guess my statement was slightly opinion based. In your example of a high player count yea alot of servers don't i mean iservers hit 3000 players+ just on classic while 100+ players is good for pc servers. Im not sure how ol'west will be different since you cant disclose any information, but it seems your server is going to be classic+era which inst anything to unique unless you count the graphics.

You are right. I was told that the release date was set for late August but it got moved back to September. Now ol west staff told me they have yet to set another release date. Also Unixmad is very friendly we are skype contact and we chat on graal at times.

I didn't feel that I would absolutely have to point out specifics. Also, Lollo's staff account on Era was last logged in who knows how long ago. (Last time I checked it was 30 or soemthing around that range.) Meaning inactive. HomelessWitch? Of course she works on Era and Ol West. She always has and always will. (Didn't feel the need to point this out because it's pretty much known.) Pix? I'll be honest that I didn't know about him, however we do allow multiserver staff under certain circumstances. (This is Alrene's decision to allow this.) Not 100% strict on it.
(Also, Arlene helps on zone when asked. Not actively contributing.)
Unix chatting about it is between him and whoever he speaks with. I didn't expect him to do so but if he feels that way, shall be it. :smile:

Can i balance the weapons? Im bored since in zone Theres 3 big block in my way and i cant continue working until they are removed (aka forever)

I think we have RecurveZ already managing guns, but you would have to speak with HomelessWitch.

your server is doomed. Rec is horrible at balancing and will probably make the guns like era.

Era in my opinion have great stats for guns. The only thing that messes then up is the price (p2w,) which Ol' West won't have.

era, good stats? GOOD STATS U WOT M8? You can have a p2w game thats somewhat balanced on a tier system of 1 = 1 1 competes against 2 3 beats 1 etc. Era is way far from that.
still doomed, i can guarantee you he is going to make the game similar to era and not make guns unique. All what that noob did was buff the crap outta his rare guns and nerfed the hell outta the G18 cause that gun dunked on rec all day everyday in spar. Also i hope you do know he is incredibly racist and his attitude is way worse than mine and thats saying something.

I am not going against you I support ol west 110% of the way and hope to work for you i am just saying most of your staff is Era but rightfully so saying HW is and those are probably the people she knows and learned to trust.

And I am not sure but I think PiX is Deltera Graphics Team Admin

Other note: Not sure really. I do know that Pix contributes A LOT of his time to Ol' West by coding majority amount of the systems (mostly jobs, quests, etc.) So whether he works on another server or not, he earned his place on Ol' West! :love:

Why the hell are you a guns admin if there are blocks in your way to developing your own content? If there's any significant blocks take it up with your head admin or manager, don't sit and wait.

eh, i still don't get why i was fired for power abusing the drag when i never had the drag power in the first place. But trying to work there was a nightmare since tashkin never EVER listened to me and would rarely help me on issues. He hasn't even gotten around to the grenade shotty one hit kill bug because he's "too busy" really wtf tashkin plz, i can guarantee you a game breaking bug is way more important than future content. Also fixing the damn bug that would allow faster bullets to register as hits. I really wasn't going anywhere cause of that.

theres blocks in my way because
1. I was fired for something that is impossible for me to do and I plan on appealing that

2. I do not script so i can't fix it myself

3. I did bring it up with the head manager and I get the same crap every time. No ones willing to fix the issue, also i probably found out a way to create the mortars and the sniper rifle along with adding range to weapons that could completely revolutionize zone and maybe guns on graal, but nope.

I got turned down by HW anyways. So looks like I aint doing anything here.

Nah i dont blame them for firing me for that since i went around in the start with a gun called the gravitron and people thought i was abusing powers when what i really was doing is pushing them around with the gun trying to find possible loopholes to see if i can increase the distance the victims are knockedbacked.

Tashkin never listened because you spammed RC all day saying "update gun stats" and when he did the next day you would say the same exact thing.

cause i busy testing yo. Seriously i changed the unreleased gun stats about every 1-4 days to and get more guns on the market. I already completed about 18 types of weapons all balanced out and completely different. Thats why i do that everyday. Also i take about an hour a day just staring at the stats and trying to find fishy stuff, i found a lot.

Also I PMed him on zone play about the bugs and he still hasn't done jack squad about them all. Its embarrassing.

Can a mod please close this? Topic has gone overboard (irrelevant) and the question(s) have been answered.
