Bionicle returning in 2015; sets leaked
This has been a developing story for a while, but today all the lego 2015 sets were leaked, including bionicle. There were a lot of other leaked photos, but these are the ones that really matter.
Anyways I'm feeling kinda mixed on the new sets. They look decent but way too simple and streamlined despite the piece count being around the same as the old sets (~80). I feel like its more Hero Factory: Bionicle edition! Than Bionicle with hero factory elements. Either way, I'm glad its back. It was a huge part of my childhood. I'm really liking Kopaka and Tahu. What do y'all think? Bionicles and Legos in general were my pride and joy during childhood. It's depressing to see them come back as this... |
Same amount of pieces, but now they're smaller.
Looks very simple. |

rep if you are a 90ies kid and remember the bionicles

I remember when Bionicle was leagues better than this.
When kids had to actually use their brains to construct them. When the sets actually did stuff. GG Lego. |

It was just officially announced yesterday.
http://www.bzpower.com/story.php?ID=6965 http://i.imgur.com/YrBqt5f.jpg That mask is the mask of creation, which was mentioned a lot in the old bionicle lore. I'm guessing this might be a continuation of the story? That would be pretty cool. Honestly after looking at the sets more I'm starting to warm up to the designs. Kopaka looks super awesome, I'm at least going to get him. Quote:

Okay, seriously?
You guys give the Mata so much credit... They have awful articulation, and one swinging gimmick. It's a reboot. New parts? A GEARBOX? This is awesome. Not a bad thing at all. I prefer this more then 2006-2009. Other then the Titan Sets and SOME villains (Baraki), they all used the boring ass Piraka/Inika build Which plauged us with boring cookie cutter sets. This, is awesome. My only complaint is the masks and how they attach. But, I'd rather have the old "hit da masks off" game with a sturdier connection compared to the...evil stud sized hole on the 2001-03 masks. Egh... Quote:

Got Kopaka yesterday at target! Hes so awesome. I've really grown to love his design. A grand total of 97 pieces, in comparison the original Kopaka had 33.

An added second gear allows enough friction to keep the arms in place (which was an issue with the original 2001 sets) http://i.imgur.com/r4jd8N2h.jpg |
i remember the bionicle movies, they were epic as hell.
|
Oh wait they actually do **** this time???
I take it all back Lego, you have officially redeemed yourself after HF. GG. I love you again. Quote:
Just lol. Quote:

I'm also an OG bionicle noob who started off with the mini guys and the rolling ball bionicle (collected all 5 rolling ones to make the giant one).
And I don't like the look of any of these new sets. My personal all time favourite bionicles were the 2007 (underwater ones with the machine guns), 2008 and the 2004 ones I think that had the disk launchers (the movie for that was so good aswell) I had the blue and black one (blue from this set is probably one of my favourite looking bionicle of all time) http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/...20070710053800 Had green, black and white from this set, as well as the giant red bike, don't remember why I had so many of this set since I never saw their movies http://static3.wikia.nocookie.net/__...9/Phantoka.png Had all of these but the white and green one, red was the best obviously http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/...20140817155226 |
Not a huge fan of the stocky look of the newer Bionicles.
But I just realized that the new Kopaka has a new version of Toa Lecon's sword/shield combo which I absolutely adored when I was a kid. http://lego.brickinstructions.com/08000/8811/001.jpg |
Bunch of new bionicle sets revealed. I think they look sweet and have more of the 'bionicle' feel. Also they have a new function, this time their wastes turn.
This is Tahu http://i.imgur.com/PHwqFhs.jpg http://i.imgur.com/zqCWtvf.jpg Theres these creatures that can attach to their back http://i.imgur.com/8P7yHL2.jpg And form cool poses like this: http://i.imgur.com/K03x77J.jpg This is one of the bad guys in a combiner with one of those creatures http://i.imgur.com/2c5RBQ0.jpg The creatures are cool cause each of them has their own unique technic function http://i.imgur.com/oj1IFUZ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/FBxB8Hr.jpg You can see the rest of them here http://brickset.com/sets/theme-Bionicle/year-2016 |
I loved those things as a kid...

Are those new projectile-firing parts I see?
If so, LEGO has officially redeemed themselves. |
