Can't play Graal at college.
Ok, so I have 2 hour break between classes at the community college. So I figure why not play Graal. However when I tried I couldn't get on the game. It sat at the initial start-up screen and just sat there, like wtf. Is it a security thing or what?
EDIT: Actually come to think of it I can't play any online games. Darn. |
That's a bummer.
My Graal Era doesn't even load on my MacBook, the other games(Zone, Classic) do though. |
Yikes, that blows. On my college campus, all online games seem to work for me. I play Guild Wars 2 on-campus sometimes because there's a 7 hour gap between my classes, and my internet at home sucks.
But yes, on some campuses, they block certain types of websites. My high school before had a similar system for online games and social media sites. |
You should invest into a VPN. I suggest www.proxy.sh

Have you tried just contacting the network administrator?
|
Seeing as the game makes the connection to the game server, with the start screen displaying, it doesn't seem as if the network is blocking the ports. I don't know what the issue could be, however.

Luckily my college enables gaming. I got to play LoL with my friend during my break between classes :D |
Tunnel your stuff through a socks proxy running on port 80

omg i dare not even imagine.. Hey whats that game your playing? Oh this? its a mmo called Graal Graal? wtf kind of **** name is that Idk man i just play it |
That's what my friends told me when they saw the screen title.
They still call it Grail... |
I've told nobody because I literally can't think of a more socially awkward situation than trying to pronounce Graal. I've never said it out loud.

And the biggest reason is it's by far the simplest and quickest thing to do before resorting to the more extreme methods to bypass it. |
Considering this is a college campus, I doubt the administrator will help you out so you can play graal.

Graal isn't even worth playing lol. Think of it as a blessing in disguise and play another game.
|
My friend thinks it could be because the wireless acces for guests is to slow to connect to the servers. Idk, I dont guess it matters lol

Its too risky for peoples popularity...it'll...it'll..RUIN OUR LIVES...im not risky enough to get made fun of and just saying the word graal in real life is weird enough.. |

lmao, just talk to the IT department. I too am at a community college taking Comp Engineering. So talking to them about computer tech and getting to know them gave me privileges to bypass our wifi restrictions. But I don't really even care since I just use my Sprint data (doesn't slow down). |
Doing computer engineering is the best decision you will ever make. So fun.

You're doing computer programming? Good career choice that stuff is getting really big now because of the ever-growing reliance on technology in our societies.

Not sure if anybody asked this, but does your college network have a firewall/blocking system? My school does so my iPhone's apps are unable to use internet features.

Already have a couple of ideas for apps that I know could get some big $$$ (hint hint* Clock into your sh*tty job just by walking into the door with your phone). While I rack up $10k for each store  Quote:

lol I've been writing down my ideas just in case I forget. http://i59.tinypic.com/2pt5k6p.png |
Since when was computer engineering only about making cell phone apps? It's more about embedded design.

PS: Ideas aren't worth anything unless you can do something with them. If you can program the embedded system for the clocking, the proximity detection, and an interface for the user, kudos to you. |
Since I'm not a "go talk to people about it" person, I'll just bring my PS Vita :D
Also I'm planning to develop or program videogames in the future and probably move to Japan for a job since it's booming over there and I'm tired of good ol 'Merica. |
