Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
 

First off I'd like to say stfu before you even start saying cod doesn't take skill because it's different this time.

Anyway, it looks pretty darn good. Graphics are definitely improved, unlike last CoD. Singleplayer campaign looks amazing. And now that multiplayer has been revealed, it's safe to say that this is gonna be a good one.

One of my fav parts is the new gamemode, uplink. It looks like a great mode for esports, though footage on youtube shows that most people are kinda playing it wrong. It's kinda like basketball. But no one is even passing the drone, and that is kinda required for the proper teamwork needed to score the "dunks". Most people are just nabbing the drone and making a beeline for the enemy goal. :/

This just looks like Titanfall and BO2 had a baby, which isn't really a bad thing, but not really that impressive.

This COD looks like it can be the best one in the franchise. Uplink looks really enjoyable..a honorable homage to the original UT2004 Bombing Run mode. Like how it has BO2 features like score-steaks, Hardpoint, and the Pick 13 system! The boost jumps and dashes are really a nice addition as well as the exo suits. Exo hover is my favorite so far. And custom score-streaks as well as co-op score-streaks? Really epic. The energy guns look cool to use. Sure its unlimited ammo, but it does have the overheating mechanic if you fire for too long and from the vids I seen it looks like it have a slow TTK. All the other guns look like it will have a fast TTK. The 4 maps shown were all cool. Defender is my favorite one. Bio-Lab looks fun and I love snow maps so it should be good. Ascend is cool. Riot is the most interesting to me. Loving it. The supply drops are just battle packs from BF4. But it seems good as long as they are not micro transactions and can be only acquired in game. Customize your solider is back and looks far better than what Ghosts did. All in all, I'm really excited and hyped for this COD. I cross my fingers that it won't be a disappointing COD like Ghosts was. Waiting for Nov 4 to buy it!

Idk about you but I will definitely be getting both. Destiny will hold me off till AW but even when AW comes out, I will still be playing the heck out of Destiny!

Lasers: Seen it.
Mech Suits: Seen it.
Drop Pods: Seen it.
CoD: Seen it.

Put it all together, and I can conveniently see all those things again in AW.

Uses a lot of overused themes in video games. What makes it original compared to its predecessors as well as other games?

I would only buy a Call of Duty game these days if a friend I played Xbox with frequently owned it. I do admit the games require skill to play, but I just don't find the series very unique.

does anyone have gameplay footage of camping because that's actually what half the previous CoD players want to see.

Actually, from the gameplay it is pretty different than other CoD's/FPS. It mixes different things that have been seen, sure. But mixing things together creates something new. Destiny mixes Halo and borderlands yet it is more enjoyable and different to play than either of the brands it comes off of imo. Taking other good ideas and implementing them into your game is never a bad thing.

I haven't played against a camper in like 2 years. Lol. CoD insults are so generic. No one can actually make a serious critique about CoD. Usually this comes from people who are just bad at the game I've noticed.

Yes, you are correct Jester. CoD does mix different features into one game. I am not saying it will not be fun, but I am just curious to what makes it a good addition to the call of duty series and what difference should make me want to buy call of duty compared to some other first person shooter? (from what we can see, a lot of the features in cod are in other FPS's at the moment as well)

Asking a question does not always mean I am trying to critique, but rather I am curious to why it will be so good.

My critique comment was directed at the comment in which someone entailed anyone who plays CoD only camps, not towards you haha.
I've already said I don't find this game that impressive, then again, I don't judge before I play. Compared to other CoDs, it adds a verticality that has never been in CoD before at all. In fact, the only FPS that has decent verticality is Halo and Titanfall. (console wise at least)
It depends on what type of shooter you enjoy. I enjoy the fast paced action that CoD offers that other shooters don't which is why I will most likely buy this. It seems that this CoD however, is very different than previous entries.

Reminds me a lot like Titanfall. But still gonna end up buying it!

To those getting AW, what system you plan to buy it for? Planning to get it for PS4.

We all know the main determining factor in whether someone gets CoD or not: How many of your friends will be playing it?

At least for me personally, CoD isn't the type of game I enjoy playing by myself. I got a lot of enjoyment playing with friends(albeit it can still be pretty frustrating), and usually whether or not I got the next CoD depends on how many people I knew were going to be playing it. Even if I have Black Ops II and I'm still enjoying it when MW3 came out... there's no point playing it by myself when everyone I know is playing MW3.

That pretty much sums up my experience with the CoD franchise. It is a horrible, horrible domino effect.

Oh, just want to mention, snipers with iron sights are back.

Btw, did those have any effect on the ADS time of sniper rifles in previous games? Cause I have seen some gameplay of them on the railgun sniper in the multiplayer demo and it seems to significantly decrease that.

Yes, snipers with iron sights have a faster ADS time than snipers with scopes.

Yeah "pro no-scopers" will have a ball with this.

Anyways, there's gonna be some tough competition with all these big games coming out so opinions are gonna be flying all over the place.

One thing we need to all be worried about is grenades. Apparently almost all nades can be detonated remotely now.

Not true. They are the same as throwing em. It just you use a launcher from your wrist. IEDs from Ghosts are back and called explosive drone..Plus danger close...Yeah not good man. But still pumped for this game!!

I've personally been really unimpressed by what I've seen so far :/. As some of you mentioned it reminds me way too much of titanfall. I don't like the futuristic theme, nor do I like the idea of double jumps and dashing on a COD game (again it reminds me of titanfall). I understand that COD is trying to implement new features and stuff but I just personally feel that all these newer games are drifting further away from the nostalgia of being able to play on modern-day maps with modern-day guns. I doubt ill buy this cod. I'm only considering the COD after this before I even know what it's going to be because of the likelihood of zombies

You can't just take this game and compare it to other games to determine it sucks. Just because it is futuristic doesn't mean it is a copy of Titanfall. The games people are comparing AW to are completely different besides very few things.

Very true. People don't seem to understand that the theme has little to do with the story and gameplay, which is where the meat of a video game is.

Destiny. Although I do think this CoD looks promising, I'm not too hyped about it like I am Destimy because I've actually had hands on with Destiny.

I'm really pumped for this game. I'm not sure if I should get it for my 360 and wait another year for an Xbox One, or upgrade to an Xbox One this year with Advanced Warfare.
