Stefan quit Graal?
 

While browsing through the drama-infested "Graal Facebook" community I found this post from Rufus about Stefan and Graal parting ways. This came only a few days after Callimuc reported that Stefan had deleted his Facebook account (that was confirmed to be true). As of now it seems as if nothing is confirmed and it is just a rumor. What are your thoughts on this?

Check the Graal wiki, Unixmad deleted the page on Stefan and he is no longer in the global staff list.

Move along folks nothing to see here.

Dear god, if this is true then what could this mean for Graal? What about the damn V6 client that he never finished?

It sucks that Stefan left, but congrats to Emera for getting the position.

Maybe someone who listens to the community will replace him? Not that Stefan didn't listen and introduce requested features every now and then but there's been tons of stuff requested that he's ignored.

Maybe Graal is just going to slowly wither away?

Unixmad responded saying that Stefan isn't leaving and they still work together.

(So if he actually is leaving, Unixmad is unaware)

Well it's odd to even think that Stefan would be leaving if he is, but if he really did ignore a lot of what was suggested and requested, then it might be a good thing.

The biggest issue with making assumptions is that Eurocenter(aka Unix and Stefan) were pretty secretive about what they did. They didn't really disclose much information about what was being developed and such. Stefan has hinted in posts that there's an entirely different game engine on their end(or an extension of the Graal engine. citing new tools, new level formats and such). We also know they have published other games on the mobile markets(such as some 3D kart game and such) which do NOT use Graal's engine.

So to say he ignored requests could be a bit of a reach as he may have been busier than we assumed based purely the progress of the Graal client.

Not saying it's okay, Graal was pretty neglected and updates only started coming about again once Graal started bringing in the money again via the mobile markets.

Been quite a lot of rumors circling lately. Stefan leaving, Graal PC closing in 2015 (only support for staff on iOS servers remaining), etc. Wonder if they're all connected, or all bogus.

Damn, did Unixmad have full ownership of Graal or something? I know Unixmad sorta bailed him out, but did Unixmad really get 100% ownership, with Stefan not getting any share of the profits except for a wage?

Kinda sad to see him lose out on something that became so huge.

Given that I'm pretty sure he was fairly busy often, from what I've seen with a few short conversations I've had with him, he's honestly a fairly nice guy. Don't really get why he was so secretive about talks over what will happen with Era in the future though.

So if there's no Stefan who will fix classics server lag?

Unixmad will have to get someone on the job, or he will start losing serious customers and who knows maybe he has another passion and not focus on Graal- hopefully not for our sakes! Let us just support him in his endeavors into the Graal franchise and hope he knows what he's doing.

Well they were irl friends (to the extent idk) so I think he paid stefan a percentage not just a set wage but I am not entirely sure.

All of these assumptions are based on a deleted Facebook account.

He's still listed as a global staff member on GCC and he's still a forum administrator.

(Not that it means anything, just another reason why people are assuming this)

The only reason people use the Wiki is to look up GScript documentation, and those are rare events still. Wouldn't surprise me if this is just an elaborate troll and he was removed from the Wiki by whoever's trolling.

Hm, that's pretty weird. Not quite sure what's going on there but I think it's safe to say that Stefan isn't quitting Graal :3

It doesn't. It just points to other Wiki pages O.o He's probably been removed from there because he wasn't supposed to be there. I'm pretty ****ing sure that his deleted Facebook account and Unixmad's edit are unrelated.

I don't think that deleting Facebook has anything to do with Graal. However, he hasn't logged onto his account in the game or on the forums in over 10 days now. I hope he is on vacation, but if he was then I think others would know. I am not really convinced either way, so yeah, only time will tell. It will be a real shame if he has though since it's his baby.
