What happened to graal?
 

Long time watcher and first time poster. I was very excited when the garden and the forest quests came. Cool items that we didn't have to pay for and even the theater was exciting but the GST was scrapped and that's pretty much the only event we were all looking forward to. why did it get cancelled? There was the big promised update in the crypt but all that changed is the color of the flame. why is it purple? Was that the big update?

The new baddies are fun but they hardly drop any money and when the penguins and turkeys were added we expected them to fight and even drop some tokens but instead they go on roofs and tables.

The game is becoming nothing more than a social network now. Please bring real updates. I keep seeing new admins but all they do is ban people for lagging. Are we actually going to get anything like the dark garden or the deadwood forest?

Just face it iclassic is just a social app, if you want to play a server with quality updates consistently then play iera or hold out for iEra zone.

Thats what Graal Classic was supposed to be in the first place.

Lol,Maybe cause it's kind of new i give it another year til they start lacking.And that's probably because of how low iEra's playercount is.

I agree some of the updates on iClassic aren't as good as some would hope they would be but then again lets see you try and please 1,018 players and up.I'm pretty sure they have some idea's thrown around about more quests and such as of right now patience is the key.

I actually think classic should hire a few more developers. That's why iEra has constant updates; we have quite a few developers.

Need scripters. Need stefan to get on track.

What happened to the scripters we have? Is skyld gone? Fp4 not there? Did Twinny quit?

Not even the LAT and GAT is active. Even just new areas would be cool. Too many graal police and too little of everything else. Azrael is the only LAT I see on and Furry and Tulip only GAT. Everyone else is GP.

Play Maplestory.
I've been playing since 2006 and for the last year and a half I've been off and on with that and Graal..if you want real content and constant events play Maplestory, its free (pc) ...just a warning if you get hooked its terribly addictive o.o

like I understand if you play Graal because of the portability factor but if you're sitting at home you might as well play a real game on PC than staring at your iPod for hours, kinda lame.

My first maplestory i played was the cygnus knight edition. After that game, ill never look at maplestory in a good way

First off, the guild spar tourney was changed to quarterly so it's every three months. Second, I don't think anyone expected the penguins and turkeys to fight. Third, baddies dropping a little money is better then dropping none at all. Lastly, the game IS a social network.

Would hire more developers, but we can't seem to find anyone worth-while.

We aren't trying to hire immature, lack-luster development staff.

Yes, we all demand more content that will be deserted in about 2 days. I honestly think you guys just complain for the sake of complaining. You know very well that the updates this game implements lose their popularity fast. Just enjoy the game and let staff do their job without demanding "updates" that half of you probably don't even care about...

um the iPhone app isn't an mmo or anything close to the real Maplestory on PC

I understand why mostly little kids play graal because they don't get access to a computer without their parents watching or something.

Eidt: and also if there is a lack of updates and things to do stop playing so damn much! You're lifes fulfillment shouldn't depend on things to do in graal, if you're bored with a game stop playing it.

No... Its because the little kids don't know what the hell is the PC version of Graal at all... Pretend its like you found it randomly in the app store for the first time and you decided to play it..

But isn't that what people always want in an MMO game? More content to keep them busy? More quests? More items? More activities?

Thats why people keep begging and admins keep giving... Because people want more content! Even though you released an update or not, it can get really boring sometimes and people would ask for something new...

But its not what the updates have to offer... Its just those who don't like content that goes to a specific part of the game (PK,Spar,Events) and thats alot of people... But do realize that it takes time to get this content done and tossed into the public...

Without Updates, lets just say that Graal would have been finished quickly before you know it... Because thats one of the main parts of the game imo

But I made that comment because Graal generally doesn't release major updates on a constant basis and events are nonexistent.
Most of it is new stuff being released in a shop or they tweaked something already in the game like baddys or horses...none of it adds any longevity or incentive to keep me on Graal longer...and there's nothing wrong with that, just stop playing as much like I said.

If you're happy with Graal then obviously keep on playin!

and I disagree, people are staying on Graal because of the relationships they have made in the game and have some emotional attachment and can't let go...which is a sign of weakness imo

updates are obviously not a main part of graal, like what was previously stated its just a masked social network

3 scripters? Wow that sure is alot, I'm so glad classic was able to hire that many, if you didnt notice that was sarcasm, 3 scripters with "lives" isnt enough.

And look at the staff list kid, I see 3 to 4 LAT, and way more than 2 GAT.

Good skills are hard to come by in case you didn't notice :rolleyes:

Classic sucks. That's all there is to it. If you want actual updates and quests then try iEra. The players are decent, staff aren't abusive, and Snk does an amazing job at managing the server while still having time to help the players.

Yes, let's all go to Era, where you have to spend money on weapons and where you die five times every few minutes if you're outside. Saying "Classic sucks" as if it's a fact is incorrect. I enjoy Classic. I don't want to rage every few minutes from being continuously shot. That's my opinion on it, and it doesn't suit me. But I wouldn't say "Era sucks".

If you're a lazy arse and think tl;dr:learn the difference between opinions and facts.

Thats another problem with classic, hats, hats, and more hats. Everytime I visit iClassic- November 18: 6 hats have been added to the hat shop!


iEra- Kill! Buy new weapons! win special weapons! Base(HARDCORE!!!!), work to make money!, Dress your character!, Events!, Spar!, and again kill more newbs again!

if Era is better then why does Classic have more online players?

it always seems like Era players are trying to attack Classic.

Because of players not liking pk/ being more addicted to classic/ everyone being on classic. Same as what's gonna happen to zone.

Heres my idea on the situation. One reason that iclassic has a higher player count is that a lot of the players initially didn't jump onto the iEra bandwagon but now that they see it's not that bad they want to play. The only problem is they would have to start over again, building their stats and reputation up even if they were a "pro" on iclassic. Due to the fact that they would be a noob again, many players stuck to iclassic and just try to downplay everything that iEra accomplishes. I don't necessarily hate iclassic, I just prefer iEra.

Well, every time I go on iClassic I see about 50% of the population AFK.

Oh im sorry sir... Does every Graal Zone have to be a hardcore clutterf**k of bullets? and a Gun takes more skill than a Sword? No...

The point of iClassic is to enjoy a social experience for all types of players...
Why the hell is the only two things that come to your mind are quests and hats?

iClassic is all Community-Driven. Almost everything in the game is made by Players just like you and other Admins.

Seriously, maybe iEra fans like you should shut the F**k up before you go cursing iClassic without knowing what the hell is the game supposed to be in the first place...

This is why theres alot of players who puts iClassic over iEra... iEra doesn't satisfy all groups of players...

The people who date... The people who role-play... The people who just like to chat with others... iEra doesn't satisfy any of that but just the hardcore type..

I'd like to add that, for those of us who play while doing other things, iEra is not very good for going afk for a minute. I know I usually multitask when playing, and I hate coming back to find myself dead with bullets zooming over my head. And although I like player killing, iEra makes it too easy. Take a gun, shoot any direction, you're almost guaranteed to hit something, somewhere.

You can AFK at your guild house...
iEra has a handful of pros and cons but still, doesn't make it better than iClassic in any way... They're completely two different types of servers with different types of gameplay

I laugh at people who say it take's skill to shoot bullets,Um ok then next time I see you I'll shoot you with just arrows and say it was pure skill.(Just adding on to what Maikeru posted)

I have no Guild house o Gang house on Era, nor do I wish to spend that much money on one. x.x.... And if I'll be gone one minute, why would I waste time doing that? I don't think either is "better". Like I said before, I won't claim one sucks. iClassic and iEra have, like Maikeru said, pros and cons.

You know what? Do you know how many rl hours I used to train? I quit after my arm started hurting every night because of grinding. So just a tip: use a key that you can press down and keep down and walk away. Go run around the block or sumthin'.

Ok, even though I'm an Era player my self I'll point the flaws out in the second paragraph.
You don't "win" special weapons. Maybe once in a while.
Basing is the same thing as taking towers.
Dress your character? Classic has way more outfits than Era has, other than customs.
Events aren't hosted very often, event bot sucks.
Sparing requires more skill in Classic, just pointing that out.
Kill newbs? /ragequit

None of the last 19 news updates had anything to do with hats, and you still say they're being lazy? (22 days since the last news update was for hats) :sarcastic:

iClassic has been favorited by players more than iEra..
Thats why it has such a big community..
It satisfies all types of players

classic-amount of money spent buying weapons: 0$

era-amount of money spent buying weapons: mommy's credit card is maxed out

Which explains why the player count of Era has been steadily increasing to near that of Classic.
But, you're entitled to your own opinion. :shy:

Correction- there are no weapons to constantly repair your weapons or buy new ones.

Maybe because Classic Server had over a year to grow their player base before Era even came out contributes to the fact the Classic has more players.
