Guild House help

I used to love my guild house, but then I saw other people's houses, and I realized mine actually sucks. So, I'm going to attach some pictures of the outside of it (nothing on the inside), and if some of you could help me and give me some tips, that'd be awesome.

(I suck at uploading images to forums, so you'll have to click the links, sorry)

I have a lot of extra furniture stored inside also, but it's a bunch of random stuff that I'm not sure where to put..

Thanks in advance for any help/advice

Hmm.. make it a giant ship using boxes and chairs

Love the pool bridge idea. Try switching up your layout (change guild house) if you are having a hard time and want to do something different :0

Thanks xD. I actually really want to change to the guild house with a spar arena. But as you can see in the pictures, I have some fairly large gralats that I want to keep, so it's not an option

Lol thanks for fixing that, and yeah I know I have more than the average graalian, but I want to really upgrade it

Hmmm. Try decorating it with flowers and stuff like most players do. Everytime someone invites me to their gh, all I see is a ****loads of flowers with a pattern. Their house looks pretty simple but I really like it. Maybe try upgrading your house with flowers garden and such? All I see on the first and third pictures, all the way left is an empty area with grass. Maybe try adding something there? Like flowers like I just recommended you to? Or add some close friend's statue? Statues can look really nice. Or some hats displays, or loots cases. Those would make a great decoration to your gh.

Man! Where is Shadowfox when we need her?! She's an expert at guild house decorations.

Yeah I'm saving up some cash for smaller items, since I have so much big stuff

My personal preference for decorating guild houses is to keep a simple spacious layout. Nothing should be entirely barren, and nothing should be over cluttered. Personally, I dislike it when people mistake having lots of furniture in their guild homes as being decorated. Putting a lot of ink all over the canvas does not necessarily make it art. It makes it a mess. Even a good splatter artist is intentional about his/her work. In short, putting random furniture all over the place is not good for creating a theme. My advice is to keep furniture spread out to create some living space. You must keep in mind color and design. Does the furniture go along or compliment the other furniture? Does it create a contrast that allows for your room to pop into life? I try to stay true to a bit of logic when placing furniture. Would you put a couch on the lawn? Do hedges randomly grow indoors? You get the idea. I like to think of furniture setting as a form of art, because I don't pixel or anything like that. It's fun to get a little creative and try to make things no one else has done yet, so I encourage you to try to see what you can't come up with ;). At the end of the day the result you want is to make people who come by feel a bit more happy and thus make yourself feel a bit more happy.

I was hoping you'd post something! Helpful tips, I'll keep them in mind while I redesign it, thank you

And Blueh of course outdoes all of us.

Buy 1,000 rain/snow crystals. Then turn weather effects on and nobody will have to see the ugliness of your house, all they will see is white. Problem solved.

-Choose a theme for each room, and stick with it (my GH has a library and an indoor garden maze). Build on those themes when you are able to. It's real easy to go broke buying a lot of furniture, so ditch a theme because you are low on gralats; save up awhile so you can go on another shopping spree.
-Sometimes, new furniture releases can be worked into the theme.
-Basic furniture like boxes and chairs can be used as building blocks for creative structures (like boats as mentioned).
-Sometimes, basic furniture is just fine to provide a simple "Graal" look.
-Flower pots, plush toys, and other small things provide for good accent pieces.
-A few well-placed rugs look good. Rugs can also be used to hide railroad track.
-I like putting things such as statues, torches, or flower pots on either side of a door way.
-You dont have to put all the furniture on the floor. Its okay to put cosmetic furniture in the walls so there is more walking space.
-I personally dont use weather crystals because they are distracting.

Thanks, I'm definitely liking the theme idea, I'll try to focus on that

This also works as a really good guide to decorating. The Graal look is often the best look. Best furniture shops are the two shops in swamp town, belle, and the mod town one. Not all of the furniture in mod town have 'Graal-like' furniture, but it does have some cool items. Red Barn and snow town are the places you go to when you're really desperate. Unless youre just there for flowers or statues or some of the old furniture in red barn. Aside from that, most of the furniture there is hard to match.
