Ok guys so I just noticed they have mad a baddy kill leader board :)
Maybe this will motivate people to win more baddy kills :)

I don't fully know how the leaderboards work, but I assume this is because many of the people with 100k+ bks haven't killed a baddy since the board was made, as some of them may have quit or are inactive etc. Similar to how EP is no longer on the PK list, because he was banned and hasn't killed anyone since his unbanning

it wont be long before all the pyrate water glitch abusers show up with their baddy kills. i find this stat useless but good recognition for all the baddy killers.


Note: bring back the token shop and the baddy cave in belle, i want to be a baddy killer now.

Elaborate? Boosting glitches aren't exactly things that should be left lingering around.

i think it was fixed a long time ago but not before it was abused by many players. it was the one that added baddy kills to the players afkng in the water inside the pyrate caves. i was referring to links comment about people needing to kill a baddy to get on the list.

Ah ya, I heard of that bug. Ya I think it got fixed when the baddies were rescripted.

What about the people who boosted off of the bats in caves? I know that they don't give baddy kills anymore, but they did in the past- and they were A LOT more convenient (5x or more faster) than regular baddy killing.

I guess we are just going to forget that happened! Fine by me, baddy kills are pointless :P

Anyway I'll see you guys when I have 1 million baddy kills using my baddy killing bot.

And by the love of god I will block anyone who attempts to give any sort of merit to baddy killing. Sitting there and killing an NPC is about as an accomplishment as having the most online time.

Thousands of BKs were boosted at the water in York, but who cares? It's a leaderboard, it only means anything if you care about it. It's the same as when you could spar at Sardon's and other places, and when you could PK in houses. Even tower hours are a hugely skewed and ruined statistic (due to the FB merge). I didn't manage to get in on any of that, but why should I care? Just deal with it.

The thing is, we can't DO anything about the boosted stats. There is no way to determine who boosted and who didn't, and how much they actually boosted.

The only resolution would be to just reset everyone, and that's not going to happen.

Also, since this boosting is no longer taking place(hopefully, and if it is we CAN find them now and reset their kills) it's no longer a factor. If anything the other players may not know who is legit or not and it gives them a goal to pass. Eventually as time passes these stats will be normalized as the legit values catch up.

Just numbers, if anyone legitimately gets buttsore that there's a new leaderboard that does not negatively affect them in any way then wowzers
That's what sucks about this community, people get mad when things happen that make other people happy or makes them feel important (reference the term "hat chaser" as example numero uno)

I like being #1 and winning stuff probably more than anyone on this game and even I really don't care if this or that was boosted or if someone is shown as a top rank for something they did or did not "earn," just have fun
The way the spar, PK, and BK boards are structured encourages activity and that's more important than anything else

I agree with everything you've said in this thread, but weren't you a bit annoyed when (I think eko?) and others exploited a spar bug that allowed them to get well over 9k spar rating?

My only complaint is now theres no space between the links to the scoreboards, so you accidentally tap the wrong one. And theres no way to space out profiles either.

I was, because it was a blatant exploitation and nothing was being done about it

I'm not saying that staff and others shouldn't do everything possibile to decrease the possibility of leaderboard boosting, but there's nothing to do now about the people who sat in York's water some months ago so you just have to let it go
