Kingdoms iPhone is hiring!

Greetings everyone,

We are now hiring five people to take on the role of Game Master because we are close to release and want our staff fully trained to give full support from day one. The following questions are meant to learn about your staff experience, general availability, and personality. All three aspects will be taken into account when the positions for Game Master are filled. Please answer all questions to the best of your ability, without the help of others.

Please send your completed applications to [email protected] with the subject of 'Kingdoms iPhone – Game Master Application' and your account name. It is very important to have your application neat and titled correctly or you may be overlooked. The application process will be open until the number of spots is filled. Please do not ask about the status of your application until applications are closed.

• When handling a disgruntled or impatient player, how would you resolve the issue?
  
• Please describe yourself in two positive and two negative characteristics.

Please expand on this for further applicants, different scenarios require different treatment. And as you haven't defined a specific scenario, no one can give you a detailed answer.

What does the position pay in USD or EUR? Is it comparable to Game Masters at professional serious gaming companies like Perfect World International or other iPhone/PC game companies? If not then why should people keep doing free work for a for profit company?

I question this on completely for scripters.

However people are interested in Game Master positions usually because they are just kids and they want
1: Power and authority
2: People to look up to them "Oh wow admin add me please give me free stuff"
3: Fame
4: Ability to host events
5: Admin powers in-game
6: Genuinely wanting to help the player base (the rarest kind).

Many game masters on other graal servers do this for fun and some would even PAY to be able to be a game master, not the other way around.

Developers are getting paid. Game Master is a voluntary job. Of course we dont force people to apply. Only if they want :)
I am very selectively with the hirings of Game Masters, because they will have alot of responsibility. In the 2nd round of the hiring the chosen applicants will go through a little test.

I don't know about that. Delteria tried to use titles different from the other servers like Zone did, so they did Game Master. I think MD was just mad that
iGraal Kingdoms did the same thing. They did Game Master when they could have done Game Moderator , or just plainly like the other servers Graal Police, but in the end it was their choice so it really doesn't matter

Well, if we go back 7 years, my server where Alpho started his dev career used the staff tag "Game Master". Of course other games use that title too.

MD should really focus on Delteria and shouldnt bother with other issues. I wish him all the best.

As much as I'd love to apply for this, my responsibilities and priorities rest with my own server now. I'm a little too far in to back out of it now and do something else for a while.

Applied. Quick question, how often will I be able to enjoy the game as a GM? Because it'd suck if I couldn't enjoy the game as much as a normal player, even though I am applying with the sole intention to help the server succeed and be fun for everyone else.

Pretty sure that just depends on how popular the server is. More players=more work. Most servers just expect you to log on everyday and just do your job (they can check if you're actually doing things or not).

Well, today is the 11th. Very, very early where I'm at, but in just a little over 24 hours from now applications close and hopefully will be reviewed as soon as Nico can.

All I wanna say is, good luck everyone. Everyone but me.... Because heck, itll take a MIRACLE for me to get hired.
