Sword Art Online II

Anyone else excited for Sword Art Online II taking place in Gun Gale Online? Apparently the series starts sometime in July, SOA is my favourite anime series, not to sure about Kirito being a girl character, knowing it's japanese I hope they don't do some weird **** with him. Looking forward to it all the same

Are you kidding me...

Kirito is gonna have all the weird stuff done to him/her.

Tyler 06-16-2014 04:22 PM

Not really. I loved Sword Art Online, but I'm not really excited for Gun Gale. I have it on my plan to watch since I will give it a try, but as far as excitement goes I'm not too thrilled.

1 year after the SAO incident, Kirito is approached by Seijiro Kikuoka from Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Department “VR Division” with a rather peculiar request.

That was an investigation on the “Death Gun” incident that occurred in the gun and steel filled VRMMO called Gun Gale Online (GGO). “Players who are shot by a mysterious avatar with a jet black gun lose their lives even in the real world…” Failing to turn down Kikuoka’s bizarre request, Kirito logs in to GGO even though he is not completely convinced that the virtual world could physically affect the real world.

Kirito wanders in an unfamiliar world in order to gain any clues about the “Death Gun.” Then, a female sniper named Sinon who owns a gigantic “Hecate II” rifle extends Kirito a helping hand. With Sinon’s help, Kirito decides to enter the “Bullet of Bullets,” a large tournament to choose the most powerful gunner within the realm of GGO, in hopes to become the target of the “Death Gun” and make direct contact with the mysterious avatar.

Kirito obviously did not watch his own series.

Just the second arc is all.

First half was horrible too.

Random time skips, cliche characters, random episodes about a new girl that falls for Kirito that has no relevance on the main plot, breaking the laws of the game, Asuna becoming useless after the first couple episodes.

So many, many more.

The only redeeming qualities about SAO is the soundtrack and animation.

Keeluah 06-16-2014 06:45 PM

The first half was good, but not great, could've done without too much time skipping and plot holes.
The second half wasn't that bad, but was far from good.
Now that is if you look at it plot wise. For enjoyment, I still find it really enjoyable, but being a series tons of people think highly of, you just can't go on without trying to find some sort of flaw.

Natso 06-17-2014 06:32 PM

Kiritos character lo

twilit 06-18-2014 04:01 AM

wait what?... Kirito did a sex change?

Does anyone know if its necessary to watch the second half of SAO 1 to understand SAO 2? Im 50/50 undecided on giving season 2 a chance, but if i was expected to watch the rest of season 1, definitely NO.

There are stuff that happens in the last episode which will hold relevance to the rest of the series.

You can just watch SAO Extra (It literally recaps the entire series then gives you a new episode at the end) and will be able to get what's going on in SAO 2.

Yup but only as a downloadable game. Some of the content in the game is brilliant with its waifu features

I actually love SAO and am very excited for SAO II. I just can't wait till July 5th when it airs. I considered SAO as a good anime I could've rate it a 10/10 but thanks to the mid-part Sugu Onee-chan stuff, I was creeped out and have to rate it 8/10. Still an awesome score, not marvelous but still good.

of all the things

the half incest is what makes you down rate the series.

Ok, about those Extras. Is it Sword Art ONline Extras, Sword Art OFFline, or Sword Art OFFline extras that recaps the series? o_O or should I watch all of the above?

Some spoilers k,
Spoiler

Beginning of SAO was great. It had a very strong start with a seemingly original plot. After the first boss fight, my opinion on the anime fell. It jumped around on the floors with random mini stories. Although some of them were completely useless to the plot, the Black Cats episode sort of highlighted why Kirito prefers to be a solo player. When he married Asuna and moved to the forest, i found it pretty stupid. You have an action anime, and they decide to drop all action for an episode or two and have a nice lovey-dovey family arc. It didnt really bother me, but just seemed out of place. The Alfheim arc was unneeded. They could have had everyone return from SAO, meet up at the real world, and dropped it off and i would have been happy. The Alfheim arc was, as one of my friends put it, "A decent anime spiraling into virtual incest." Didnt like that arc overall. The ending was somewhat satisfying. Everyone met up in the real world (somehow sane) and they were happy. The fact that they went back to clear SAO again was kinda cool, but the fact that Kirito kept his Alfheim character was stupid.

Anyway, just hoping they wont screw the next season up, although seeing as Kirito is a girl, I see they plan to fill it with all kinds of fanservice so my hopes are pretty low.

WELL LOOK AT ME NOW.

Dawn 07-05-2014 03:13 AM

If u guys look at what will happen.. Kirito is turned into a girl because the system only scans for things like hair and skin and it doesn't always give a accurate answer. Kiritimati has smooth hair and idk how he is a girl. But still I want to watch it but I will have to wait like 4 weeks to see the English dub :'(

Crunchyroll very rarely gets the rights to the dubs. You're asking this at 1am lol, it has a place where you can see what times the shows are airing that day on the front page.

Renegade1337 07-08-2014 01:36 AM

I watched it on animeseason.com they released the subbed version on the same day it was officially released on the 5th

Keeluah 07-08-2014 05:10 AM

I used to use animeseason, but I found they often miss a few selections of ongoing series.

Wolfie 07-08-2014 09:24 AM

I most of the time watch anime on Crunchyroll. If Crunchyroll doesn't have what I want, I use Funimation. If Funimation STILL doesn't have it, I watch it on AnimeFave and some other sites.

Anyway, SAO II episode 1 seems good.
