Swear filter...
This has just got completly out of hand, i mean really? We cant even say words that arent swearing like puzzle, fake, minigame. Seriously zone? Just reset the whole swear filter and go in by hand and type in all of the swear words HOW THEY ARE SPELLED and those are the words we cant say.

Faking puzzle minigame!
|
Why can I say ****oris but not Puzzle
|
Yeah I know, I will be looking into it... Not sure what happened somebody must have edited it for some reason.

They finally censored ass lol

Honestly, the swear filter itself is ******ed. Just do the words and don't bother with alternate spellings, because then it leads to problems of being unable to say actual words.
|
They need to do the same with Era. I type out a long message and when I send it a message pops up saying "Advertisement is Not Allowed" or some bs. It's just really annoying.

That was the problem, we could not say that because it starts with f and ends with uck. Fixed anyway |
Gosh its a game, let us say what we want to say, how does swearing affect anyone in the game?
|
|
Long story, cut short.
The swear filter has been fixed. |

I'm not sure if your aware of this but kids at the age of five are always caught cussing, this is our future generation to you.
Try and play Black Ops 1 or 2 and see all the kids that be cussing in multiplayer mode. |

Just because kids you know swear, doesn't mean we should encourage it; as stated above. You hear a kid saying the word ****? Does that automatically mean that all kids cuss and we should just support it and promote it in Graal? No, it doesn't.
You guys have some really dumb logic here, damn. |

I am of the belief that swear words are there to embellish a point, to bring attention the severity of an issue, or to be seen as casually comfortable with something. Words are powerful things, and kids love to get into anything that is locked away from them.
I know Graal doesn't care about COPPA laws, and I doubt the Graalian forum hosts do either, but there is a legal limit for anyone using these kinds of services; you cannot be under 13 and save profile information such as age, gender, etc. if your web service is anywhere hosted in the United States. None of that is important, really, but it does give you a good idea of where to start for language: PG-13! So long as we're being American centric, anyhow. |
Graal is a MORPG. it is rated 9+ so swearing is not good because children aged 9+ play it

I feel upset that people will swear because its 'cool' or 'SWAG' I'm from a family that refrains from doing it a ton (heck i'm a christian) and I sometimes mutter to myself a swear but i dont go on online games and call someone a F** because they killed me with a OP gun I might say something in a mocking voice but the player never heard me... Sometimes I wish veterans would stop calling new people n00bs Xd even other players call me a noob because I killed them so fast

It took me about 2 weeks before I got into some pretty serious, NSFW, mature stuff when I first started using the internet back in the mid-90s. I think parents have more to worry than their kids seeing the F word. :)

Get over your religious refrains and look in the dictionary.
|
So stupid at first but now it makes sense now
The swear filter is really ******ed and dnt make any sense. |
How about prompting someone for their date of birth when they first log on? If they input an age above 18, they have the option to toggle the swear filter.

Also, could anyone in support of disabling the swear filter give me a legit argument as to why they need/want to see or say blocked words so badly, especially if as it has been said they are "just words". Also explain why it would not be better to just broaden your vocabulary and use words that are considered less offensive by most people. |
I believe that the swear filter is in place to reduce the amount of bullying or harassment you may see out there, instead of trying to protect anyone from harsh language for the sake of protecting it. In this regard, I believe it will be very successful! However, I also feel like bullying will happen regardless, so to restrict a wide variety of swear words would ultimately feel a bit pointless.
Still, if it lessened a harassing encounter even by a little, it's worth it. People must be kind to one another! |

Choice would be the best argument here. Perhaps they don't want to see * and would rather see the word rather than some game babysit them, It would be better if they expanded their vocab, but that's a choice that they made. Swear filters are dumb in this day and age. Quote:
